For the MIL

Howdeedoodlee folks!

Hope everyone is well and busy crafting away!?

We have Mother's Day here in the UK this Sunday. Not that anybody in this house is bothered. Lucky to get a card from my lot...except the wee one who still likes to make a card for me (bless xx)

Still, I had to make a couple of cards for my Mum and the hubby's Mum, so I'm here to show the one that I did for MIL using a wee paper I fashioned from the main image -

She was coloured with my watercolour pencils, then scanned and printed.
Matted onto some pinky coloured bazzil, a strip of lace and some card candy dots, and voila - done!!

I also printed the butterfly bigger so I could use that in my design too.
I am hoping to get some time soon to play with that paper and maybe get a wee set into the shop for ya!!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and (if you are in the UK) I hope you enjoy your Mother's Day goodies!!

A Bit of Skull-duggery

Hiya folks!

Bbbrrrrrr, cold wind today, but the sun is out and that's making for a not-too-bad day here in northern Scotland. Glad we missed out on the snow that flew across the country this weekend!!

So, here I am (a bit late as I've been gardening) with my DT make for the new theme at HDH, Macabre Monday.
This time it's all about the SKULLS - we want to see a veritable Skull-Fest!!

I started making a wee Tarot card set, just for fun.
Used my Pile o' Bones paper as a backing for the playing cards. Made me a template for them and cut out about eight so far. Didn't realise that there are 72 cards in a full pack. . .hmmmmm

I used 'Angel of Death' for my Death Tarot.
And I have use my newest dark image 'Cranium Caresses' for the High Priestess one. Yeah, I know they aren't factually correct or anything, but hey, I'm not doing it to start reading the cards. Just a bit of fun really.

I have also created a wee box to put the cards in. Took an old card packet and used that as a template, then covered it with embossed black card and smeared the surfaces with metallix waxy stuff. One wee die cut shape and another (unreleased) image for the front, and voila!!

So there you have it then peeps!

Wonder if I can find any challenges for this to be entered into...somehow I doubt there will be very many. . .

Digi Galore - Anything Goes
Just For Fun - Anything Goes
Creative Corner - Texture

Let's Play a Game. . .

Hellooooo folks!

No, I'm not actually asking if anyone wants to play a game. I don't do games, can't stand the though of losing!! So I just don't play!

But today sees the start of the new theme at HDH, Macabre Monday Challenges, and this time we are paying an homage to that rather nasty fella, Jigsaw from the movie franchise 'SAW'. Gruesome stuff there in those movies, well some of them. Got a bit silly towards the end me thinks, but you could say that about most movies that release too many sequels.

Anyroadup, this make started life as a box, but I couldn't figure out what I was going to do with it, so it was dismantled and rejigged into a mobile/windchime affair. Be warned folks, some blood effects in these photos, so if you are squeamish, look away NOW!!!

Before the blood-fest:

After fake blood has been added:

I raided the hubby's shed for most of these items. Bolts, nuts, bits of metal things washers, drill bits.
The thing with the very pointy teeth was made using a couple of 'wood joiners' I bought from the local DIY store, along with the jigsaw blades.
It's all been cobbled together using fuse wire and chain/earring loops from my jewellery stash.

That's it from me then folks! Try not to hurt yourself when making your game/jigsaw makes this fortnight!
