An Announcement

Hello all.
So sorry to have been so absent here in blogland. So much going on here - not all of it good.
The job is still keeping me busy, along with the dog walking and the housework and the kids - blah-blah. Ya know how it goes.
BUT the major killer is the new European VAT Law that comes into effect on 1st January 2015. I have been mooching around trying to find a way of staying in business without having to do tonnes of paperwork and multiple tax returns per year, but to no avail, so:

I am deeply saddened about the above announcement folks. There will be many very small micro-businesses like myself following this course of action due to the new Laws coming into effect on 1st January 2015.

Many thanks Europe.

I would like to thank every one of you who have supported me over the few years I have been in business. I am truly grateful to have had you visit my store and collect your favourite images to print and colour, and I have very much enjoyed seeing your fabulous creations using my images!!

I am not totally disappearing, as I have mentioned above.

Delicious Doodles images are now in store at Card Making Downloads and I am also joining the fabulously creepy family over at Smeared Ink with my Delicious Darkness images, so you will still be able to collect your favourites - just under a different name!

So, to sum up - get your images while you can folks!

I hope you will visit me in the above mentioned stores, and still post your beautiful (and wicked) creations in the facebook groups!??

See you there folks!

OMG - A Post from Me!!

OMFG - has it really been over three months since I blogged last??!!!!

Just goes to show how a 'proper' job takes over your life. No time for the fun stuff any more. (sad face!)

I have thrown a quick digital make together though for the new theme at Haunted Design House this fortnight.

Ferocious Furballs
is the new challenge theme. Interpret it any way you'd like,
just make sure an animal of some sort, is involved in some way.
Maybe use a gruesome guinea pig, or some wicked waterfowl
as your inspiration. Who knows, maybe a macabre muskrat
and a catatonic coon hound are more to your liking.
Make it weird, wacky, scary or clinical. Just don't make it cute!!

I came up with a new 'dark side' image for this theme, in the shape of this wee chappie -

And here he is all digitally coloured up and layered onto one of my Beastly Paper Pack:

A quick bit of news for you too!

On Wednesday there will be a NEW Challenge Blog up and running - strictly for the DARKsiders amongst us!

Featuring my darker images from the

A month-long challenge, going live on the 13th of each month. No need to use my Delicious Darkness images, although we'd love to see you using them of course!!

Hope to see you there folks!

A Little Chemistry

Hellloooooo Blogging Buddies!

How are you all keeping these days? Hope life is treating you well??

I'm here today with a very quick make.

The current challenge at HDH is:

"Working in the lab, late one night".
Basically, we'd like to see your interpretation of a
mad scientist's lab, his creations, experiments, rats, beakers, etc..
Or maybe even your own experimentation. Be creative!

So I doodled another little 'Halloweenie' character to go with the rest of the collection.
This little fella is available in my Delicious Darkness Shop, and is named 'Halloweenie - Crazy Chemist':

He has been coloured digitally and printed three times for fussy cutting and layering up with foam pads. He was then layered onto some yellow card and stuck to a green base before edging with black ink.

Told you it was quick!! lol.
I was running out of time - got me a busy week ahead. Interviews, fetching Mum from airport, and a jollie planned for next week so I won't be around until 12th May!!

Catch ya later folks!!

Pretty Lillies

Helloooo my luvvlies!
How are you all keeping these days?? Hope all is well in your neck of the woods...?

Blowing a hoolie up here right now, just started raining too - shame, was nice earlier and I got some more seeds planted in the garden and greenhouse.

Thought I would pop by and show off the card I made for my Mum for Mother's Day. I know, I'm a bit behind in showing it, but I was a bit peeved that my Mum hadn't got it in time. Damned PO people kept a hold of it and asked for more money!! And that was after I had it put through the slot thingy in our local PO!! Went through fine up here. . . Pain in the butt...

Anyhoose, I went all pink and fluffy for this one.
Coloured up my Delicious Doodles 'Lilleth' image, and made my own papers for the backing. You can get those HERE

I cut a die frame out of some pink card I had so I could pop the image in it. I printed out my scanned in coloured image a few times so I could 'pop up' little elements like some of the flowers.

I dug out my feathers and found this gorgeous vibrant pink one that was just the right colour for this make and stuck it behind the image/frame. Then I rummaged round the ribbon drawer and found some bits to match.

Used some of those 'candy' dot things, in the corners and on the horizontal ribbon to tie it all together. Then it was all mounted onto some green bazzill before being put onto the plain white card base.

Here's hoping that Mum has this now.

Some challenges I am entering -

Digi Galore - Flowers
Brown Sugar - Mother's Day
Sister Act Card Challenge - Anything Goes
4 Krafty Girlz - Anything Goes
Crafty Ribbons - Flower Power
Paper Crafting Journey - For that Special Lady
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes

Up-cycling, Steampunk Style

Helloooooo folks!
Happy Monday to ya! hee-hee.

***Warning - photo heavy post!***
This past week or so has seen me busy battling away with glue and metallic paint. WHY do these things take soooooooooo long to dry!!?? LOL
And it was all for the minions in the dungeon so they can keep an eye on how late/early it is...Allow me to elaborate:

Our theme in the Haunted Design House this fortnight is:
StEaMpUnK JuNk
That's right, it's time to gather up those bits and bobs, odd and ends, and
make something Steampunk-y with them!
That's why there are metallic paints, right?
The idea is to reuse, or up-cycle something(s) in your junk drawer,
or something destined for the trash bin.
Make it into a Steampunk inspired project.
Got it?

Well, after rattling me feeble brains for a day or two I came to a decision to make something out of this old sweetie tin I have had lying around for months. A trip to the local DIY store and some plumbing/paint purchases later I had the inspiration to make a clock. Of course I had to go and buy me a clock movement thingy off ebay too. Sheesh, these minions are costing me a fortune!! lol

As I didn't have a clock face to go with my theme, I had to design one for myself. Luckily I had some of the elements to start with so I just threw them together and twiddled a bit, added some cogs and ta-da!

Anyroadup, this tin took a few layers of this metallic hammer effect paint so I didn't see the original colours anymore. Drilled a hole in the lid for the spindle of the movement to stick through. I stuck the box part to the back of the lid with foam pads, as the spindle was a tad too long. Then I stuck a load of bolt heads and random bits round the outside of the tin.

Around the face of the clock I added some washers, gems, and some wee hot glue fix metallic effect stud thingies on top of which I added some fake pin heads. The pic below shows those bits better. The hands of the clock were black, but they didn't look right. Luckily for me the opposite side of the hands were this lovely metal colour, so I flipped them and use that side instead!

Next was the stand thingy for the clock part to sit on. These were the plumbing bits I got from the DIY store. Hubby helped out here by cutting some bits of copper pipe from the shed so I could attach it all together. I took a couple of old door handles and attached them over the pipe before sticking them onto the backing piece of the clock. That was just a bit of canvas board I cut to size and painted. I added some cogs and bits to the bottom of it for decoration, and a piece of electrical connector thing to help it stay upright, as it was prone to swinging about.

On the back of that I have recycled a wee buzz-saw shaped thingy from a previous make, painted of course!

So here ya go with the final piccie of the finished clock!

Why don't you pop across to the HDH Blog and see what my minion mates have come up with this time? Fab stuff from them this week - and more delicious yummies to come next week too!! Oooo - and you can show off your lovely dark makes over on the HDH Facebook Group now as well - see ya there peeps!!

For the MIL

Howdeedoodlee folks!

Hope everyone is well and busy crafting away!?

We have Mother's Day here in the UK this Sunday. Not that anybody in this house is bothered. Lucky to get a card from my lot...except the wee one who still likes to make a card for me (bless xx)

Still, I had to make a couple of cards for my Mum and the hubby's Mum, so I'm here to show the one that I did for MIL using a wee paper I fashioned from the main image -

She was coloured with my watercolour pencils, then scanned and printed.
Matted onto some pinky coloured bazzil, a strip of lace and some card candy dots, and voila - done!!

I also printed the butterfly bigger so I could use that in my design too.
I am hoping to get some time soon to play with that paper and maybe get a wee set into the shop for ya!!

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend, and (if you are in the UK) I hope you enjoy your Mother's Day goodies!!

Some Challenges I am entering this card into -

Cute Card Thursday - Floral Delights
Papercrafting Journey - Anything Goes
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes
Creative Moments - Anything Goes/Things with Wings

A Bit of Skull-duggery

Hiya folks!

Bbbrrrrrr, cold wind today, but the sun is out and that's making for a not-too-bad day here in northern Scotland. Glad we missed out on the snow that flew across the country this weekend!!

So, here I am (a bit late as I've been gardening) with my DT make for the new theme at HDH, Macabre Monday.
This time it's all about the SKULLS - we want to see a veritable Skull-Fest!!

I started making a wee Tarot card set, just for fun.
Used my Pile o' Bones paper as a backing for the playing cards. Made me a template for them and cut out about eight so far. Didn't realise that there are 72 cards in a full pack. . .hmmmmm

I used 'Angel of Death' for my Death Tarot.
And I have use my newest dark image 'Cranium Caresses' for the High Priestess one. Yeah, I know they aren't factually correct or anything, but hey, I'm not doing it to start reading the cards. Just a bit of fun really.

I have also created a wee box to put the cards in. Took an old card packet and used that as a template, then covered it with embossed black card and smeared the surfaces with metallix waxy stuff. One wee die cut shape and another (unreleased) image for the front, and voila!!

So there you have it then peeps!

Wonder if I can find any challenges for this to be entered into...somehow I doubt there will be very many. . .

Challenges 4 Everybody - Anything Goes
Digi Galore - Anything Goes
Just For Fun - Anything Goes
Creative Corner - Texture
(embossed box)

Let's Play a Game. . .

Hellooooo folks!

No, I'm not actually asking if anyone wants to play a game. I don't do games, can't stand the though of losing!! So I just don't play!

But today sees the start of the new theme at HDH, Macabre Monday Challenges, and this time we are paying an homage to that rather nasty fella, Jigsaw from the movie franchise 'SAW'. Gruesome stuff there in those movies, well some of them. Got a bit silly towards the end me thinks, but you could say that about most movies that release too many sequels.

Anyroadup, this make started life as a box, but I couldn't figure out what I was going to do with it, so it was dismantled and rejigged into a mobile/windchime affair. Be warned folks, some blood effects in these photos, so if you are squeamish, look away NOW!!!

Before the blood-fest:

After fake blood has been added:

I raided the hubby's shed for most of these items. Bolts, nuts, bits of metal things washers, drill bits.
The thing with the very pointy teeth was made using a couple of 'wood joiners' I bought from the local DIY store, along with the jigsaw blades.
It's all been cobbled together using fuse wire and chain/earring loops from my jewellery stash.

That's it from me then folks! Try not to hurt yourself when making your game/jigsaw makes this fortnight!

Children of the Night

Helllooooo folks!

It's time for a new theme on the HDH Challenge blog, and this time we are sponsored by our own teamie IKE with her store IKE'S ART!

The theme this time is:
"Children of the Night"

I chose to use POE CAT for my purely digital make.
First though, I printed it out and shaded it with my graphite pencils. Then I scanned it back into the compy so I could do this with it!

This was all done using photoshop. Text is called The Gingerbread House, which I searched for and downloaded for FREE off the net!!

Hope you can join us this fortnight - you may get to win some of IKE's fabby images!!!

Frightening Fairies at HDH

Hiya folks!

Hope you are all keeping well. Signs of spring are in the air here in Scotland. Odd I know, not even the  middle of February and the Snowdrops are out, Daffodils are poking their heads up too. Hope we don't have a late snowstorm or hard frost to kill it all off.

Anyway, today sees the next theme go live at HDH for Macabre Monday. This time we are after your

Frightening Fairies

And I had just the one, drawn with this particular theme in mind a few weeks back. And last week I also released a background image that suits the theme too! So I popped the two together in an 8x6 shadow box frame.

Here we go with a load of photos. I took some last night, but wasn't sure if they'd be okay, so did some this morning too. The following are a concoction of the both light scenarios:

So. First I printed off my Dark Forest scene, and Shadow Faerie, both available in the Delicious Doodles AND Delicious Darkness store. I printed several of each and layered them up on foam pads to achieve some depth.

The frame was painted with black acrylic watered down a bit to allow the wood to show through. Then I painted loads of leaves, lichen, mossy bits and twigs and cones and stuck them round the frame.

Then it was a case of fitting the two together, and viola!
A close- up of the Shadow Faerie image:

Okay, so that's me for today.
Wonder if I can find any challenges to enter. . .?
ttfn folks!

Rotten Romance at HDH

Helloooooooooo folks!

Hope you are all well and crafting merrily??

This week sees the start of our second challenge of this year over at HDH. We've gone all romantic on ya seeing as it will soon be Valentine's Day (bleaaagh!) hee-hee!

And guess what?
I am sponsoring this time round with my new dedicated DARK SIDE SHOP

I still have all my normal images in the mainstream shop Delicious Doodles, and all the dark stuff will still go there as well. But I decided to open a dedicated store with all my dark images in one place for those who don't want to trawl through all the fluffy stuff, lol.

I have also come up with a new image especially for this occasion in the shape of a wee 'not-so-cute' Cupid

I also whipped up some new papers to go with what I wanted to make.
These are named:

So I had better show you the make I created for this new theme at HDH

 'Rotten Romance'.
We have all at one point or another suffered for our love,
and what better place to share your darker feeling than with us.

Here we go with some photos then peeps.

I used the black version of the papers for my make.

Coloured with the usual watercolour pencils. Printed out several times for layering up with foam pads, and framed with a spellbinders die. I added lots of wee red gems for some bling.

Grotesque Cupid was printed out in a brownish colour generated on the compy. Wanted him to look a bit vintage, but not black. I also added a bit of some trim I got a while ago, which has lovely big black organza roses on it, and goldy-green ribbon folded to look like leaves. Got this off ebay.

Above is a close up of the image used. You can see the fussy cutting I did there for the layers.

So that's me for today then folks!
Hope you can join in with some of your darker, romantic makes!
