Helloooooo folks!

Hope all is well where you are?
We are all trying to get over this very odd lurgy the kids brought home from school. Makes you sooooooo tired and lethargic, heavy headed, sore throat, followed by a cough and cold. Miserable stuff!

Anyway, onto my post today which is my DT piece for Haunted Design House. The Macabre Monday Challenge this fortnight is:

Unlucky for Some.
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Hallowe'en
based art piece with a total of thirteen components.
No more. No less. Thirteen pieces total.

Well, I nearly ballsed this one up at the first hurdle!
Some of you may know I have been designing astrological symbol images for my normal and 'not-so-normal' followers, and there is apparently a thirteenth symbol which I had no idea about until doing this collection. Was just waffling on to the hubby about 'wouldn't it be fab if there was a 13th symbol' and he said 'There is!' Well my jaw hit the floor and I thought it would be perfect for this challenge!

THEN in conversation with my teamies last week I discovered that this challenge is all about thirteen pieces, not just about things to do with 13. ACK!! So I had to get my thinking cap and my counting cap on to do my make with 13 layers.

So here it is then, my make with 13 layers AND with the 13th symbol:

Much of the 13 piece total is made up of card and paper layers as well as layers for the image itself.
I have used, as I said, my new image (released today!)

OK, so I have my base card and dp, followed by a strip of leather trim and two feathers.
That makes five items. Then I have some white, black and white card behind the image. That's eight items. The last five items are made up of the layers on the image.
Here is a view of all the layers involved:

Another close-up of the image itself with all the layering:

And finally a finishing view of the whole card at a jaunty angle! lol

Right, gotta get me butt off here. Lots to do, much doodling to be done!
Let's see if we can't find a few challenges to enter huh? lol

Versatile Virgo

Hellooooooo folks!

Long time no blog (again!)
Never seem to have enough time to do anything these days, where does it all go to??

About time I got on here and blogged about my new project(s) on the doodling front, lol.
I have TWO collections on the go. Some of you may have noticed them floating around here and there, especially on facebook in the Delicious Doodles Group we have there.

Anyhoooose, these new collections are based on Astrological or Zodiac Symbols.
One set is a normal kind of Zodiac thing (in my own style of course!) and the other is a 'not-so-normal' collection which I have aptly named 'Horrorscope'.

My last make on here was made using the Horrorscope - Leo version.

But I am here today with a little make I did using Zodiac - Virgo

The image comes with a little separate image file that has the symbol and dates on it like in the preview above. You don't have to use that bit, but it's there if you do want to!
Now, you don't need to use any of these images, nice or not-so-nice just for Astrology or Birthdays. I used this lovely Virgo image on a greetings card just for the sake of it. I added a little Wiccan/Pagan greeting onto my digi-paper using my graphics programme before printing out.

I printed her onto some A4 sized card and coloured her in delicately just using neutral colours, with a bit of green on the flower. Then she was scanned back into the compy ready for resizing and printing out and fussy cutting for layers. I kept it to just one layer for a change, nice and simple today.

I inked the edges of the dp, and layered it onto white, then black card.
The only other addition is this lovely silky rose I snipped from some trim I got off ebay, and two little punched leafy spriggs.

Like I said, nice and simple!

I hope you guys are inspired to use these images for other makes than just the Astrological and Birthday stuff!! I would imagine the 'Horrorscope' ones would be well suited to Halloween!! lol

TTFN folks!!

Skullies Everywhere! It's a BIG Blog Hop!!

Hiya folks!

Ooopsies, it's been AGES since I blogged anything here, can you believe that it was 18th May the last time I posted?? Sheesh, where does the time go???

Anyroadup, today sees us 'darker folk' celebrating SKULLIES as it is

And our lovely hosts at Smeared Ink have once again outdone themselves by organising this rather HUGE Blog Hop!! There are 45 of us taking part this year (phew!) and rather than putting the list in this post, I have popped all the names in the sidebar for you.
You should have come to me from Milo.
Typical me to join at the last moment though. That means I am last on the list - wonder how  many will give up before they get to me?! lol

Righty then, so to my make which is the front of a card, or wallhanging. Whatever you will. It is 6" x 6" on black cardstock smeared with silver and copper rub on stuff.

The paper and images are all my own designs.
The paper is one I  made from my 'Pile 'o' Bones' image copied and rotated, then coloured and printed out. I used the same thing for the frame round the main image.

This is the first of my new 'Horrorscope' series of images based on the signs of the Zodiac.
Well, I am doing a 'normal' version so I just HAD to do a 'not-so-nice' version too didn't I??

This is 'Horrorscope - Leo' and he comes with the text image too!

He got printed out several times and then was fussycut to achieve all the decoupage layers.
These were raised on foam pads for depth.

The text image was printed out and layered onto a smaller sized version of the backing paper, then layered onto some more black card. This was then raised up on foam pads too.

Last but not least, I added a couple of wee charms.
Couldn't use ribbon to attach them to as it looked awful, so I just punched a couple of holes to attach the ring to the card.

Okay, so you've seen my make, you can now breathe! That's the end of the hop.
I hope you enjoyed all the different makes!

Why don't you hop along and do a make with skullies too!!??!!

Hugs to all, and thanks for making it this far!
