Hiya folks!

OMG, I am so far behind with everything just now.
Only just managed to get the post done for the new Delicious Doodles theme for this fortnight - waaay late!! And this time we are playing BINGO for a change.

This is the card we are using:

I chose to do the line - Flowers, DD image, Punches, although I have also used other elements from the card too!! In fact, I think the only bit I didn't do is the Dies, lol.
Here is the front of the Twisted Easel style card I made:

My papers and the wee lacey strip are all digital from Just So Scrappy2, organza ribbon and other elements are all from my stash. I haven't bought anything new for months now. Really need to use up all the stash - that's going to take a while!! Might end up trying to sell some on here.

A close-up of the flowers I made using those papers and punches, with metallic blue brads for the centres, and glitter on the petals:

A close-up of the image. I have used 'Marina' here, coloured with my usual watercolour pencils, scanned and layered up with foam pads. I added some glitter to the tiny bubbles in her hair too, although that doesn't show up too well in the photo's.

And lastly a kind of 'skewed' angle to try getting it all in. Not the best photo in the world, but I just can't seem to get these easel cards at the right angle to make it look the best.

Hope you can join in with us this time folks!

Off for some more walkies in a bit. Don't know if I'm coming or going right now. Really must try and get into a routine with the doggie walking. It's a job getting everything else to fit in round that at the mo. A couple of hours in between walks isn't enough to get it all done in. I am so far behind with my latest image, it was supposed to be done for Wednesday just gone, and I'm pushing it to get it done for this weekend!!

Even the house work is suffering (oh dear, how sad! lol) Still, got the new challenge up and running, (most important!) took several days to make this card for it. Still need to do a make for Monday yet. Well, I should get some respite over the weekend as hubby is here to go out with the dog. Hopefully the weather will be good so I can do some catching up in the garden too!

Enough blather - need to get on with it! LOL.
Bye for now peeps

New Release at Delicious Doodles

Hiya folks!

What a soggy day it is today. Just got back in from a rather damp walk, almost a swim really, lol. Poor pooch is a bit whiffy now too, nice! I hope you are having a drier day than we are.

I have only the one new image for you this week. Been so pushed for time to get my other image ready for today, and have failed so it will have to go in for next week now. Ah well, more time to get it perfect for you!!

This week it is a 'darker' more twisted but a bit funny image, in the shape of some not so nice spaghetti and meatballs,

Yummy huh? NOT!!

Off to dry off a bit and grab a cuppa now then, maybe spend an hour or so on that other image, ttfn folks!

The 'Eyes' Have It

Morning all.

Better get my skates on and do my post for the new theme at Macabre Monday. Lots of new stuff going on in our house the last few days what with a new doggie (from the Shelter). She had to get used to the kids going to school and hubby to work which was a bit scarey for her, then off to the Vets to get registered and a walkies with me and nobody else.

Anyroadup, this week we are all about Eyes:

"Eye Can See You"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that is to use eyeballs or optical themed images.  Now Let's SEE what you can come up with!
So, with all that has been going on this weekend I kinda lost loads of time and only just managed to get this new image done in time -

'Eyeball Wormetti':

Hmm. Monday is usually Meatballs and Spaghetti for tea. . . Might just have to chose something different today, LOL.

This image will go in the shop on Wednesday, as well as another image if I can get it done for then. Lots of new adjustments to be made and new routines to get used to, so bear with me folks!

I'll leave you with a new piccie of Cassie taken last night with hubby and the 2 D's. TTFN folks!

Been a Bit Side-Tracked

Hiya folks!

Hope you have all been having a wonderful weekend?

Ours has been a bit eventful. We decided as a family that we wanted to re-home a dog and this Saturday morning we bit the bullet and went across to Aberdeen to have a look at some from Mrs Murphy's Shelter.

Must admit, I was a bit emotional for a second, as I wanted to take them all with me. So sad to see them all there unwanted and unloved. BUT we all fell in love with a five year old lady dog named Cassie. She is a Tri-coloured Collie with a fabulous temperament. I can't understand why she was in there. Anyway, a quick photo from yesterday on the mobile phone camera:

She was such a good dog in the car, no barking or whining. In fact, we haven't heard her make any noise yet, apart from a couple of sighs last night whilst having a snooze.

She has been for a few walks already, just round the block and down to the river and back. But today we took her up the hill to the winding walks through the pine forest. Not sure if she enjoyed it or not. The tail wagged a bit. Still need to do some settling in I think, then we'll see her pick up a bit.

Poor baby is terribly shy and very submissive. Keeps wanting hugs and constant reassurances. Lord knows what went on with her and the previous owners. She has had training, as she knows the sit, stay commands, and she stays off the furniture too. Not too sure about other dogs though, which is understandable I suppose.

Bit camera shy too. Doesn't like to pose! Hopefully that will come in time.

So, please forgive me if I have been a tad absent over this weekend. This week's image may be a bit late too! Sorry about that, but I haven't had much chance to get on with it. Gotta try keeping Dno2 away from her a little bit, as she is very possessive of Cassie and wants to mollycoddle her all the time.

Right, off now then, TTFN folks!

Woohooo, it's GONE!!

Hiya folks!

Today is a GOOD day! OK, so the weather is a bit hit and miss what with the hailstorms followed by the sunshine, but apart from that it is a good one. ** THE TREE STUMP IS GONE ** Woooohoooo!! It took some effort mind you, remember what it looked like? Well here it is when we started hacking at it this morning:

And here is that space now, complete with my newest make, the bird feeding station. Yeah, its a bit rough round the edges and a bit skew-whiff but hey, it's only birds!!

I laid out some path stones for hubby to get to his 'observatory', even using the painted ones that I used to have a plant pot stood on. He is busy now edging the concrete base of the observatory with some left over slate. Looks a lot tidier. I have dug over the bit of dirt in front of it too, just up to the lawn which is going to need a bit of attention soon, poor thing.

Next job is the potting shed. Here it is after a good sort out and shifting stuff about:

I didn't think I was going to be able to use the shelves from the middle shed, as it is full of woodworm holes. But it is still fairly sturdy except for the top which disintegrated when I tried to remove a nail from it. Other than that it will serve it's purpose, and is now stashed at the end of the shed. Need to build me a bench along the right hand side under the rather puny window. We do have a nice huge pane of glass in another shed which we could use to make a bigger window. Will have to figure that one out. . .

All Layered Up

Hiya folks!

Bbbrrrr. It's gone a bit colder up here in north east Scotland. I wish spring would arrive properly and not keep turning back into winter. It's no wonder we've all got colds and flu's!

Well, these fortnights seem to come around faster and faster.
Today being Friday sees the start of the next theme at the
and this time we are after 'Load of Layers'.

You know I love to layer up my images anyway, so it was a simple theme for me to choose this time. I wanted to keep things easy for you all, lol.
I have used my 'Just Purr-fect' image for this card

I followed a sketch for my layout. Got it a bit wrong though, as I forgot to include a wee loopy strip going diagonally underneath the paper. Hope it still counts. . .
The main cardstock is a bog standard white that I inked around the edges of with some lilac ink. Papers are off the compy, and edged with a purple ink.

The big bow is hand tied. I got this lovely organza ribbon from my local craft shop. The charm is one from a selection I got at a crafty weekend last year, and is attached to the bow using an offcut of chain from a sale. I also added some big pearls and some lilac brads.

The big frame is a framabilities die cut from lilac textured card, edged with purple ink, and lilac stickles has been added round the image. This image was coloured with the usual watercolour pencils, then scanned and printed several times for my layers. These were 'popped' up using foam pads. The flowers are made using punches and spare glittery lilac card from my bits box along with some more of the textured stuff I used for the frame. Then some lilac tiny gems for their centres. Here is a closeup of the image:

And last but not least, a little view of all the layers:

Phew, hope you are still with me??

Off to take the wee D to the hairdressers in a bit for a little trim. Could have done it myself but she needs it thinned out properly and I don't know how to do that. Hoping to get outside later and raise my little bird feeding station I made the other day, but not sure what the weather is going to do. Supposed to be wintery showers, but at the mo the sun is out. Fingers crossed it stays that way!

Catch ya later folks!!

Homage to Hitchcock

Hiya folks!

Hope you are all enjoying your Easter break if you are having one? I would have preferred it if the weather was better, but we are back to winter up here :(  Ah well, more time for doodling new digi's!!

Talking of which (spot the link there?) I have created one for this week's theme at Macabre Monday, and this time we are paying homage to Alfred Hitchcock.

"Homage to Hitchcock"
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
based on, or inspired by an Alfred Hitchcock film, story, or quote.

Now I went all predictable and based it on 'The Birds' as that was the only movie of his that I can remember seeing. But I did a google search anyway and found out that I have seen a few others but it was such a long time ago that I had forgotten all about them. Wonder if they will ever see screen time again. . .

Anyroadup, here is the new digi -

This will be going in the

Just flipping brilliant!!

Who would have thought that this week would be TWENTY degrees colder than last week?
Just what we need :(

At the time of writing, it is piddling with rain (much needed so that's OK) and only 2.2 degrees C outside. So I went on a rescue mission and now have the majority of my wee babies sitting on the kitchen counter until it gets a bit better. Although they were inside a mini greenhouse, it was just as cold in there as it was out of it, so in they have come.

Hop we don't get that snow they forecast for tonight. . .

Take care all.
