New Releases at Delicious Doodles

Hiya folks!

I'm a bit late with the Delicious Doodles New Releases this week, me BAD!!

I have my Mum visiting myself and my sister, so things are rather hectic just now.
That's my excuse anyhow, lol.

I thought I would do some Butterflies for your up and coming summer projects. I did these originally for some other images with girls on, but now I have them separated from those images and available to buy on their own.
First up then, a set of two -

Then we have one by itself -

Yeah, original names I know, but what else can you call them?? tee-hee.

Hope you have fun creating with these!

Diamonds are Forever

Hiya folks!

Another lovely day here in bonny Scotland. Bit of a misty start but that is burning away now.
Hope you are all well out there in the world? If not, then I send you healing hugs!

My creation today is a bit of a rush job I'm sorry to say. These weeks just seem to keep flying by without me! lol. But I managed to knock it out last night, and finish it up this morning.

We are celebrating our Monarch's 60 years on the throne over at
and our theme is 'Diamonds are Forever'.
So get out all your bling peeps!! We are also being sponsored by our very own teamie Pascale with her fabby new digi-shop Gr8 Crafts4U.

Here is my rather rushed card:

Bit naff I'm afraid. You can see my wobbly edges on the stickles application! Papers are off my compy printed in pale grey. I have used my Lovey-Dovey Silhouette image for this one, but without any extra layers. Flowers were made using punches, stickles, large gems and spare card. I added more gems in two of the corners just to even the card out a bit, and some metallic grey pearls too.

Right need to get on.
Garden to sort, house to tidy, bedclothes to wash, dog to walk...never ending huh?
Catch ya later folks!

Some challenges -

DYSU - Birds
Paper Shelter - Bling it on
Penny's - Anything Goes
My Time to Craft - It Takes Two (two flowers, or two birds)

La Rosa Muerta

Hiya folks!

Oh Boy!! Another GORGEOUS day here in bonny Scotland!!
The sun is blazing, hardly a breath of wind, and I have to WASTE my time down the blumming school again! This time it is because of the son's time off what with being ill. Supposedly they like to help if a lot of time is lost and want to 'touch' base' so to speak to see if there are any issues.
I'll give them an issue - CLEAN THE EFFING PLACE - get rid of the bacteria with some PROPER BLEACH and not the crap they use these days to replace it. Then he might not pick up so many germs!! Health and safety my arse!!! In my day we used rubber gloves!!!

OK, whinge over! Time to get on with it! LOL

My card today is rather late actually. It was meant to have been done for Monday, but it was sooo nice this weekend past that I spent it catching up in the garden instead of doing my image and making the card.

So here I am today instead, sharing the 'Wretched Wednesday' post over at Haunted Design House. Our theme this week is:

"Long in the Tooth"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that shows us some chompers, teeth, fangs, dentures, etc.!
Creepy toothy grins to wind up teeth!
If it has something to do with teeth, we wanna see it!

And we are sponsored by our very own Andrea with her fabby Etsy shop

She is giving our winner this week a marvelous sculpture thingy named
'Hamish the Scottish Werewolf', cool huh?

Well, off I went with my doodling kit and came up with this Vampish image to use on my card.
She is named 'La Rosa Muerta':

Just released into my Delicious Doodles Shop this very morning
(after loads of faffing about trying to get the payloadz link to work!!)

And here is the card I made using her:

I followed a sketch from Mojo Monday for the layout. Backing papers from Susan's Crafty Chaos Store. Embossed dotty card from the stash, smeared in metallic silver rub-on. Big frame die is a frameabilities die, 'Fleur-de-Lys' corners from a shapeabilities set, cut from core-dinations. These were distressed then inked in black, and smeared with the same rub-on.

I tied a lovely large bow with the same ribbon as I used across the card, and topped it with a large grey gem. I also used a large gem for the centre of the flower. This was made using dies from sizzix and Tim Holtz, again distressed, inked, smudged and also glittered with stickles.

A dimension shot above, just to show the layering. Below a close-up of the image. This was coloured with my usual watercolour pencils, scanned and printed several times for my layers.I added some wee grey gems round the frame for some extra bling. Also added a few gunmetal pearls in the corners.

So folks, get out all your 'toothy' bits and get your 'Fang' on!!
Hope you can join us this week peeps!
I'll leave you with a face on view, ttfn!
Enjoy the sun while it lasts!

CD's For Sale

Hiya folks!

Just a quickie to let you all know that I am selling all my crafting CD's. They are older cd's, but in very good condition as I have hardly used most of them, some not at all (me bad!)

I have no use for any of them now, they are gathering dust in my bedroom along with loads of other stuff, and frankly I want my bedroom back!

If I can get rid of these that would be fab, then I can find the floor to vacuum it!!

If you fancy any CD's, have a look in the PAGE TAB above and send me an email with your choice.

Go on, you know you want to. . .

Gorgeous Fairy Fae

Hiya folks!

I couldn't wait to show you this sample I made using my new Fairy image, 'Fae'.

She was such a pleasure to doodle. I hope you have as much fun colouring her as I did designing her in the first place. It's funny how some images are just so pleasurable, while others just don't quite 'do it' for you, don't you think?

Anyhow, a quick warning, this post is a bit heavy on the photos, so grab a coffee and some biccies!!
I'll start off with the front of the card that I made, following a lovely simple sketch.

I just had to make this into a twisted easel card, I just love doing this style, don't know why but I just do!
I used plain white cardstock for the base, and smudged green and blue ink round it, and cut a few corners with my MS Loopy corner punch. I printed out some gorgeous pink dotty paper that I have on the compy. The file is actually in greyscale, so that means I can colour it any way I want to in my page layout programme.

I used a frameabilities die to cut the frame and attach the image to. This I also smudged with ink, and added some yummy pink gems. (Think I must be ill, far too much pink going on just lately! LOL)

I also used a Marianne flower die to make my flowers on the base, with a Tim Holtz die for their middle petals. Their edges were also inked, and I added some stickles and metallic brads for some bling.

I coloured my image quite subtly with my usual watercolour pencils before scanning in and printing several times to layer up with. I also fussy cut and curled the wee butterflies wings, and added stickles to them as well.

Then I tied a huge bow with the gorgeous pink ribbon I bought the other day, and added some pink pearls to the front, not forgetting the computer generated sentiment. Oh, and the larger butterfly on the base was just an extra print out made bigger, on which I also curled the wings and added stickles.

Another angle of the card:

And finally a close-up view of the image itself, all layered, curled and stickled, with some more stickles added round the frame inside.

Phew, after all that I just realised I forgot to get myself a coffee!! Ooopsies!

Right, so I had better get on and sort out the washing. Hopefully the sun will stay out long enough to get two loads washed, fingers crossed. A bit flipping chilly today though in that wind. Brrr.

ttfn folks!

Hot as Hell

Hiya folks!

I wish it was hot as hell up here in chilly Scotland. Spring seems to have run away again and isn't set to improve much this week according to the weather man yesterday. Damn that arctic air!

Well, we can always pop across to Haunted Design House for a weekly fill of HOT creations for the Macabre Monday challenges! This week our theme is:

"Hot as Hell in Here"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece that represents flames or something that requires heat; burning, scorching, wet embossing.
Or just go the literal route and take us on a tour of Hell.

So I dug up some firey background images on google search and used them on my creation, along with some red organza ribbon and red pearls.

The text is computer generated and printed out along with the strip of dp.

The image is a new one I managed to whip up over the weekend, named appropriately enough
'Fire Woman'
(are you singing that Cult song now? lol).
She will be in the Delicious Doodles Shop on Wednesday along with another image I finished up last week.

This is a sketched style image with shading already done, as I didn't have time to do a line drawing with all the tidying up that needs doing on those. I coloured her red to print out twice for my layering, then added some yellow and orange with the youngest daughters felt tips. I don't have any of those fancy markers that I see around in blogland!! My first layer is in a red border, and the second layer is fussy cut and raised on foam pads.

We have a couple of newbies in the dungeons this week (waves hi!)
Hope you guys have fun with the minions here in Hell (mwahahaha!!)
And I hope you can join us too folks!

Some challenges -

Crafty Emma - Anything Goes
Rogue Redhead - Warm Tones for a Male (hope this counts)
Daring Cardmakers - Fussy Cutting
Forever Night - Anything Goes

Try Something New

Hiya folks!

Hope you are all well out there?
What with the strange weather up here the coughs, colds and flu's have hit DD House.
Have had kiddies off school (one in bed as I type), hubby with a sore head and throat, and wet/cold doggie walkies (more to come today with the flipping rain coming down).
Plus I noticed one of the tiles on our new roof has slipped already - note to hubby - get on that phone!!

On a happier note, it's time for a new theme at the Delicious Doodles Challenge, and this time we want you to try something new. Doesn't matter if it isn't perfect we want to see it peeps!

I have cheated a bit with my creation. I haven't exactly tried a new technique, can't afford to go buying stuff I will never use again. So I opted for a style I don't do very much of. Clean and Simple! I really don't use this much at all, normally I have loads of layers going on, with froo-froo and bling here and there, so it made a change for me not to do that this time!

This was so quick and easy, can't think why I don't do it more often.
All I did was design a simple layout on the compy with a frame, followed by my Butterfly Bliss image in a border (which was already coloured up and scanned in from another project some weeks ago), add text, printed it out, stick to a base card and add some gems in the corners. Simples!

And there you have it! No foofy layers, ribbons, pop-ups, charms, or whatever.
Must admit though, it was really hard not to keep adding stuff, it looks very empty!

Hope you can join us this time round folks!

Some challenges I am entering:

Paper Shelter - Anything Goes
Anything Goes - Things with Wings
Creative Craft - Anything Goes

Gothic Makeover

Hiya folks!

It's Monday again, so time for a new theme at Macabre Monday. Actually I'm not really involved this week, as I don't usually play with 'cute' images from other companies (me selfish, lol) but I love to do Gothic, so just had to play along sneakily on my own!!
The sponsor this week is Saturated Canary. Too cutsie for me folks! lol.

"Gothic Make Over"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that includes a cute image that has been made over in a GOTHIC manner.
I'm not one to be designing very many in the way of 'cute' images either, so I decided to make over a more suitable image for a Gothic theme,

I actually went into my local craft shop for the first time this year (ooo-er!) and bought a couple of bits that I have used on the card today, including some ribbon, pearls, gems and a new spellbinders die (floral doilies) that I used to make this 3d flower:

And here is the card that I made. Papers are digital off my compy, card from the stash:

Had to incorporate purple and black, but also decided to throw some hot pink and silver in too for a change! I made a huge bow using the new ribbon and made a charm. The big flower was cut with the new dies using card offcuts, with added inky edges and glitter.

And finally a close-up of the image, coloured with the usual watercolour pencils and layered with foam pads. This was layered onto silver and black cardstock, then into a digital embossed dp and topped with the new pearls. I also added some tiny gems to the silver die cut strip at the bottom to tie it all together.

Well, I hope if you join in this week that you do as you are told and use a cute image, unlike me! lol

Right, need to get myself dressed (yep, here in my PJ's) and take the dog for a walkies, then I'll be back to find some challenges to enter. TTFN folks!

EDIT: OK, I'm back - now for some challenges to enter -

Just Tracys - Anything Goes
2 Sisters - Anything Goes
Emergency Crafters - Bold and Bright (hope so!)
S4TW - 4 or more layers (+hop)
Smudgy Antics - Anything Goes

Gardening at a Snails Pace

Hiya folks!

Wish I could say things are coming on a pace out there in the garden, but with all the weird weather we have had lately up here - snow, sleet, wind, cold, grey, damp a spot of sun then back to grey again - things just haven't been growing the way I'd like them to.

Back in the middle of April I planted some Runner Bean, French Bean, Pea and Egyptian Bean seeds. One pot of each I kept inside the house, the others I put in the cold frame hoping that I could get two stages of harvesting later in the year. The inside ones all came up lovely and are merrily growing away. The others, well, need some encouragement! Not a sign from the runners, peas are showing now, the Egyptian beans started after I put them in the heated propagator and the French Beans are beginning to sprout. But they have all been very slow to get going.

The mini-greenhouse is almost full. You can just see those French Beans at the front on the bottom there. Marigolds, Calendula, Love in a Mist, Chinese Leaf, Tomato amongst others all trying their bestest for me. Below is one of my coldframes with some Cabbage, Kale, Sweet Pea and a Trachleospermum Jasminoides flower I need to find a space for somewhere.

I have however started to plant things out, mainly because they are getting pot bound (cabbages) and are turning yellow in their pots. But also because I am just so impatient!! I put a Sprout, Kale, Cabbage, Chinese Leaf in here below, with a couple of Marigolds for company hoping the smell of the flowers will confuse any bugs. Already popped a stake in to tie them to later (had to prop up the cabbage with one too as it was getting rather leggy)

And again here. You can just make out a tub of garlic (top left) behind the tub of Beetroot seeds which have yet to show. Bottom right is a tub of Salad Onion which are sprouting and starting to unfurl. The other tub right at the top has some Radish in, which seems to be doing fine despite the naff weather.

Below is a line of Cabbage I planted at the back end of last season, which all came through the winter unscathed, along with last seasons Leeks that I am harvesting gradually. The Blackberry has taken well to its move the other month and is almost flowering against that trellis. Got to take the Kale out from behind there, as it is now gone to seed and flowering.

On a different theme, the Maples are all putting on a good show of leaf after I shifted them a few months ago. The Primula look a bit yellow though, not sure why. Maybe I'll just have to start feeding it all, as the compost minerals won't last forever.

I'll leave you with a quick look at the blossom on one of my new Single Stem Apple Trees which is about to blossom (late or what??) And you can just see the Strawberries blossoming away, although they started way back when we had that heatwave! Poor plants are so confused (know the feeling)
