Textures at Delicious Doodles

Hiya folks!

How are you all keeping? Hope you've been enjoying the sun while it's been here? Gone a tad colder up here in NE Scotland, back to normal for this time of the year sadly. I could have gotten used to the warmth, but it wasn't to be! Ah, well, such is life! lol.

So, today sees the start of the next theme on the Delicious Doodles Challenge, and this time it's all about Texture. So time to get out all your fluffy stuff, scuffy stuff, fibres etc. etc.!!

I have used my Daisies and Butterflies image for this Twisted Easel card

I have coloured my image with the usual watercolour pencils before scanning into the compy and printing out multiple images for the layering up bit. My base card is a thick cream one, but I ended up covering it with other card as the cream wasn't textured. I used a lovely yellow bazzil paper for the main, which I edged with green ink. Here is the front by itself:

The red paper is actually the reverse side of some leather effect shiny pink stuff I have had forever and thought I could use it this time. I used the cream card on top of that, but embossed it and edged that with green ink too. On top of that is some more of the yellow bazzill, and some deep red bazzill edged with black ink. There is a lovely piece of red stringy type ribbon on top of that. The frame is made using a frameabilities die and some black dotty textured card, which has been raised on foam pads. Then I put the image on top of that in layers, and have bent the butterflies wings for some extra dimension.

I tied a ribbon bow for the top corner, and added some yummy paper flowers for the other corner. I also added some red gems. Then on the base I printed some of the butterflies from my original image, but bigger, and put them there, along with a little green corner die shape and some little stickles dots. I added some stickles to the flowers just to add some more bling.

Last thing I did was to add some fabric flower pieces to the base attached with a gold brad. The fabric flowers were plain coloured, so I added some inky edges to tie it all together.

Phew, are you still with me? lol

Off I go then, busy old day again. Plus I have my youngest home again. Came home from school yesterday feeling all 'achy and painy', and she looked flushed. Hope the flu hasn't come back again. . .Don't need that with the holidays next week!!

Have a great weekend folks! Enjoy the sun while it lasts, they're talking snow on high ground up here for the weekend!! Eeeek!
