It's a last minute image for Christmas, which was part of a competition on facebook to give it a name.

Perfect for all those unmade Chrimbo cards you haven't done yet!!! lol

On a Winter's Day

Hiya folks!!

Hope you are all keeping well in the cold temperatures and snow/hail flurries? (Well, in the UK anyway, lol) I managed to jarr my back this morning out walking the dog. Effin' slippery out there today!! At least I avoided landing on me bum! lol.

Today sees a new release in my Delicious Doodles Shop, and a very apt one it is too given the snow and hail we are getting at the mo. It's an old fashioned style wintery village scene.
Perfect for winter birthdays and Christmas makes!

Bbbbrrrrrrrr. Makes me feel cold just looking at it! lol

AND, I have even got my arse into gear and made a card with it!! This one will be going to one of the parents, haven't decided which yet though.

I have used some digital papers that I have stashed on the compy. Seem to keep using the same ones, but then, they are nice. I'll get round to making my own one of these days!

Cardstock, gems and stickles all from the stash which I am desperate to whittle down as I have such a lot of crud on my bedroom floor. Nobody wants to buy any of it though even when I do put it on here or on facebook, so I will just have to use it all up myself!!

Above is a closer view which shows the stickles I added to the snow. I love the way this image turned out. Wasn't sure if it would work first of all, but it came together before my very eyes. Love it when that happens!

Well, hope you guys manage to stay safe and warm this winter!

New Images

Hellooooo folks!

Hope you are all well? I've been rather quiet on here lately, mainly because I haven't the time to be making cards any more.

My new job, even though it's not more than 12 hours a week, is affecting my doodling time, and my crafting time too. I can't doodle when I'm working, and am too pooped at 9pm to start anything. So my doodlings are being done in the crafting time instead.

Such a bore. I soooo HATE washing up, and to do it for FOUR hours three or four nights a week is such a chore, along with clearing and wiping the tables too. And now they've got me doing the chips and cleaning that stuff out, AND answering the phone for orders too. Starting to take the piss I think. No wonder nobody stayed in the job for very long....

ANYWAYS, enough of my moaning. Doesn't make anything better does it?

If only I could sell loads of images, I could stay at home and doodle some more!!
I did manage to sketch up a new wintery village image for you all, hope you like it. I know it's a bit on the English side, sorry you guys over the waters and down under!
This one is going into the shop on Wednesday next week.

'On a Winter's Day':

It was a little bit like that here in our village this morning, not as deep though. Just a spattering of hailstones. The sun is melting it away now though. Thank goodness we didn't get any flooding here last week. Hope you didn't get all that rain or floods where you are.

There are also a couple of new releases that I didn't get round to putting up here, so I will pop them in now. Firstly there was this lovely Angel/Fairy image,

'Angelique with Snowflake':

And then there is this cute little Westie dog in a Christmassy frame

'Festive Westie':

Then we have an Emo style girl with her Santa costume on, well, sort of, with a bit of attitude tagging along, lol.

'An Emo Christmas':

And then there is this cute little kitty in a swirly frame.

'Christmas Kitty':

Righty-ho then folks. Off to catch up on the housework now then. As if I didn't wash up enough last night, I gets home to a pile of it next to the sink too. Nice. Thanks for that my dear family.

Take care peeps!

Angelique, with Snowflake

Hiya folks!

Phew, got away with nothing more than a bit of gusty wind and a couple of damp splodges (lol). Now the sun is out but still a bit blowy now and again. Hope you guys down south (in the UK) are all still in one piece after that storm? It seemed to pass us by after all the build up from the weather folk on telly. Sparing a few thoughts for the poor flooded out peeps, so close to Xmas too :(

On to this week's theme at the Delicious Doodles Challenge, which this time is 'Something that Flies'. Nice and easy right? Must be 'cause I actually got off my butt and made something for it!! lol.

I did promise some nicer Christmassy images after that nasty Santa one the other week didn't I?
Well you had the cute Festive Westie earlier, and now I'm here blabbing about this make on which I have used my 'Angelique with Snowflake' image:

I have used some lovely textured cardstock in purple for the base and the flowers, layered with pearlescent white, gold mirri, and some dp's off the compy, including a lilac coloured snowflake one from my Snowflake Papers set.

I used punches for the flowers, with offcuts of the cardstock, and added pearls for their centres. I smeared metallic gold rub-on over the card edges, and the flower petals too for a bit of extra bling. I added some clear stickles to the white cardstock in the background, and also to my image in places (including her eyes and the snowflake - you'll have to look at the closeup piccie to see properly)

I also put some stickles and a gem on the big snowflake, and added more pearls and gems to the cardin the corners. Finally I added a huge hand-tied bow with a pearl on top.

Here is that closeup piccie, you can JUST about see the sparkle in her eyes:

Angelique was coloured with my usual watercolour pencils before being scanned back into the compy and printed off for fussy-cutting and layering up with foam pads.

I bought myself Serif Craft Artist2 last week, so I am trying to find some time to play with that and make up some papers and Decoupage (Pyramage) sheets. I mentioned it the other day after uploading a freebie paper, which was my first attempt at it, bit simple but not too shabby for a first attempt!

I am currently testing out a Pyramage sheet with my DT girls, so we'll see how that pans out as to whether or not I offer them in the shop in future.
As a matter of interest, would anybody out there buy them if I did offer them up?

Anyway - off to play, oh, and do some (swear word) housework (UGH!)
Catch ya later peeps!!

Festive Greetings!

Hiya folks!

How are you all keeping these days? Hope all is well where you are.

Things are fine up here in Bonny Scotland, albeit a tad windy! lol.
The new job is going fine, much as I'd rather be at home doodling at that time of the day. I won't say I am enjoying it, after all, how CAN you enjoy washing up for four hours four times a week. . .?? I tolerate it for the sake of the bank balance, nothing more. Shame my doodling pennies are not enough to live on really.

Anyhoooose, enough moaning and on to the make I have for you! YES - I have made something AGAIN - can't be bad huh? lol.
And here it is, featuring one of the new Delicious Doodles Christmas images -

The image is coloured with watercolour pencils, scanned in and printed a few times for layering up with foam pads. The dp is an old Tinker & Co one I have had for ages. Sorry can't supply a link as they are no longer around I'm sad to say. Cardstock and gems from the stash.

The sentiment 'Festive Greetings!' is a typeface I found whilst searching for Christmassy text on the net.
A bit of stickles and that is it - nice and simples!

Right, I'm REALLY behind now. Just spent two days sorting out six months worth of paperwork (sigh). Got me another make to get on with which has been waiting for days sat on the printer. MUST get on with some more doodles too!!

Wish I didn't have to go and work in a real job!

Something New

Hiya folks!

I bought me some new software yesterday in the shape of Serif Craft Artist2 from Daisy Trail. It looks like a lot of fun, if only I can get my thick head round it, lol.

I'm not doing too bad at the mo, had a wee play this morning after finishing up an Emo image for next Wednesday's release.

I used some poppies from my Poppy image I have in the shop and made up a digital designer paper with it. It's rather simple as yet, but I decided to pop it here as a FREEBIE for all my followers as a Thank You for all the lovely comments you leave for me, so here you are folks!

'Poppy Paper':

Oh, it's a bit large in file size, so it may take a minute to download.

An Alternative Christmas

Mwuahahahahaaaaaa folks!

I so wish my kids were all grown up, then I could do a really alternative Christmas.

I'm not really a Christmas kind of gal. I don't hold it against anybody what they believe in, we all have different thoughts and faiths. That's what makes the world such an amazing place. I just HATE it when other peoples' beliefs are rammed down my throat without my approval. And I am happy to say that my kids are getting to be that way too. 'Each to their own', as they say, but LEAVE ME OUT OF IT! lol.

Sorry if this offends anyone, but it's just my thoughts and feelings. You carry on with your beliefs, just don't knock on my door and spout scripture at me and mine. Hee-heee!

Don't get me wrong! I was brought up with Christian values, and I try to install them in my children. Knowing right from wrong, feeling empathy for fellow humans and animals alike. Respect and all that. I just don't think we all need to be so zealous, obsessed or 'over the top' with it.

Anyway, I'm ranting here - ooopsies!
I popped by to upload a couple of Christmas, but NOT Christmas makes.
If you are easily offended please don't look any further, you WON'T like it!!!!

So, first up, something not too offensive in the shape of a Pagan style Christmas Tree wrapped with a snake and decked with skullies using my Delicious Doodles image,

Hmmm, not a great photo, a bit bleached out even though it was NOT sunny!

I used some pearlescent red card, black card, dp from the compy Spellbinders dies, gems and pearls from my stash, a gorgeous trim with big flowers that I found on ebay, and some sparkly red stickles. Here's a closer view:

My image was coloured with the usual watercolour pencils before being scanned and printed ready for fussy cutting and layering up with foam pads

Next up then is an alternative wreath for lovers of all things skully.
Using my image,

Cardstock and gems from the stash, backings off the compy.
Sentiment is computer generated. Again, a closer view:

And finally, I saved the best (or worst!) 'till last.

Don't let your kiddies see this one!!

This was made using my twisted Santa image,

Darn, I hate photographing whites, they always bleach out!
This next one ain't much better. Different angle though:

Used some nice pearlescent red cardstock to back it all, a bit of copper coloured card, red and some brown bazill for the flower which I made using my one and only Tim Holtz die 'Tattered Flowers'.

Pearls and tassle trim are from the stash. Another closer view:

There. Told you it wasn't for the faint of heart! lol
Any followers left? lol

Next time, I'll be back with some more 'pleasing' imagery for you all. (maybe, lol)

Until then folks, I shall enter a couple of challenges (if they'll have me, mwuahahahaaaa!)

Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Forever Night - Anything Goes

I MADE Something At Last!!

Well hellloooooooo folks!!

How are you all keeping this fine and sunny day? (for a change, lol)

I thought I would pop by and show you what I have created. Just for a change I used a nice image and made a not-so-dark card front using my Snow Cuddles image.

I really enjoyed making this one, although in the end it took over a month to get done!! 'A Month??!!' I hear you gasp - yes folks, I AM that slack! I had the image all coloured up, scanned in, and printed out along with the dp's off my compy, BUT it sat there for weeks gathering dust as I lost the 'ooomph' to get on with it.

However, on Tuesday I got off my butt and made the thing, and in the end I had fun.

Like I said previously, DP's are off the compy and coloured to match the cardstock and her cloak. The frame is a lovely new spellbinders die that I bought a month or so ago. The flower is made with punches, and I added inky edges and stickles to the petals, and a big yellow gem for the centre. The central ribbon is from my stash, the big bow is handtied and is from an xmas ornament that I won't ever use, so it's kind of recycled! Corner gems from the stash, as are the wee gems I put in the snowflakes.

So there you have it folks!
Hope you like it after the length of time it took me to make! lol

I'll leave you with a different angle shot:

Oh, and a mention of the new Challenge theme over at the
which this week is all about 'Remembering'

Homage to Hammer

How ya doin' folks?

Hope all is well in your neck of the woods. Sparing my thoughts for all my American blogging/facebooking buddies with that nasty oncoming storm. Hope you all get through it in one piece!!

Also thinking of a little old man MISSING in the FOCHABERS area since yesterday!! Apparently he was out with a walking group and just vanished. He's in his 80's and has some type of dementia. I really hope they find him soon!!

Right. On to my post for today, in which I have actually MADE something!! Woo-hooooo!!
This is my DT posting for Macabre Monday, and this time we are paying homage!

"Hammer House of Horror"
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that is a tribute to Hammer Films

I can't profess to have seen every singly movie brought out by these guys, but I did rather enjoy watching the Dracula ones with Christopher Lee. It was this collection of movies that got me into Vampires and 'the dark side' of things! So naturally I just HAD to do me a sketch of the man himself. And I even got round to popping him on a card front:

It's not a full card. I don't send cards very often, especially with gothic/dark subject matter, so I just make the frontages now. Saves a bit on card costs too!! lol

So, I made me a dp using my Cobweb image, added some 'blood splatter' in photoshop, printed it and put that on some red cardstock. Then I made the frame with a spellbinders die, and put that on some more of the same card and trimmed it to fit. I added some gems for a bit of bling.

Mr Lee was sketched, scanned and printed for layering, and then placed on the top of the frame. Last thing was to add some black pearls to the four corners.

And there you have it, quite a simple make!

Right, off to do some chores. Might even offer my services in the search for the missing guy.

I'll be back later to add some challenges.

RIP - Remembrance

Howdeeedoodleee folks!

Welcome to a lovely Monday morning (NOT) it's pi**ing down with rain and hail, black as the ace of spades out there, and I have to take the dog out in it. Mmmmm, nice.

Anyhows, today sees the start of a new theme at HDH Macabre Monday, and it's all about:

"Rest In Peace"

You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that has anything to do with cemeteries, coffins, headstones, or funerals.
Any and all things resting in peace. Or pieces...

I kinda blew it with this one, not scarey enough really. I used my graveyard image last week for another make, so I couldn't very well use it again two weeks in a row now could I?
So I went with another new image released the other day, 'Remembrance':

This is a frontage. I haven't stuck it to anything, so I could use it for a card, or make a picture out of it, or a wall hanging. I have used a couple of Nestabilities dies from a new set I bought on Saturday - yes, I went craft shopping!! First time in blooming ages!! Managed to keep it under £50 too - amazing!!

My Remembrance image is coloured with my usual watercolour pencils, scanned in and printed for fussy cutting and layering up with foam pads. Ta-da, job done. Took long enough though!! So much deciding what paper to use. Gave up in the end and stayed with blank cardstock.

So there you have it folks. Not too scarey this time!! lol
Hope you all have a great day. I'm away to go and get soaked, ugh!

Some challenges I am entering -

Craft Punked - Deepest Sympathy (hope this one fits)
Inspire Me Friday - Anything Goes
Simply Create - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Dies/Punches

Saturday, 13 October 2012

A Couple of New Images

Helllooooooo folks!

How ya all keepin' then? Hope all is well in your neck of the woods?! We didn't get all the rain that was expected so not so many floods round here, river is high though but the rain has stopped for now.

I released a couple of new images into the Delicious Doodles Shop this week, one on Wednesday as usual, and one yesterday after being badgered by my facebook ladies! lol. So I thought I'd pop by and show you them here.

First up, the one I released yesterday ready for November's Remembrance Day makes.

And then, one last quick image for Halloween, although you could use it any time of the year if you are into the Goth scene! lol.

Spooky huh? tee-hee!

Hope to see a few makes using these images!

Bats in the Belfry

Hiya folks!

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend? Ours was spent frustratingly trying to get some new techno stuff to work on the compy. Some of the time it works, but other times it won't have it. Blame the hubby - he put it on there!! LOL

I did manage to jump on and work up my DT piece for Macabre Monday at Haunted Design House. This week we are all going a bit batty:

"Bats in the Belfry"
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based art piece
that has anything to do with a bats.  Think belfries, church steeples and all round general battiness!

I have created a new scene for this week's theme. This will be going in my shop just as soon as I have finished working on the lines a bit more. Although I did cheat with this make and coloured in a version of it that isn't finished properly.
The image is called 'The Graveyard':

Like I said, I printed it out unfinished and shaded with a graphite pencil and a black waterclour pencil. That's all I did to it, then scanned it back in and printed it three times for my layers.

 Here is a close-up piccie:

Nice and spooky for ya! And hopefully just in time for Halloween too!!
Now to just get the thing finished up and ready for sale!

Some Challenges -

Crafty Calendar - All Things Spooky
Polka Doodles - Things with Wings (Bats)
Poodles Parlour - Halloween
