Kenny K at Delicious Doodles

Hiya folks!

Thank you for all your best wishes yesterday, the tummy has picked up now, so all is well with the world! YEAY!! Such an annoying condition, you never know when it's going to hit you!

Onto some nicer stuff then, my card today is my DT piece for the new theme at
This week we are being sponsored by none other than Kenny K - weyhey!!
And our theme is 'Teenagers'.
Lucky for me my eldest is thirteen in September (yeah, its way off yet, but at least I have my card done! LOL) so I made this card for her.

I used an image that I won several weeks back in another challenge, VickyLee Vicious. Just had to go with that one, reminded me of my late teens/early twenties listening to Heavy Metal (still do) and going to Rock Concerts dressed in all the garb of the time. And the images name reminded me of a certain Motley Crue member too!!

Anyroadup, my eldest is into the 'Goth' thing right now, she has 'Rock Guitar Legends' on the Wii and fancies herself as a Rock Star!! So this one is perfect for her.

I started off with the image, printed off large as I am crud at colouring small areas with my watercolour pencils. Then I scanned it back into the compy and printed out some layers which got fussy-cut. I used pearlescent purple for the base card, with a strip of black card, embossed, smudged with silver rub-on, and punched using an MS border punch.

The dp is  my own, which I made from using Delicious Doodles images and layering in photoshop. Cut some shapes with a nestie and a shapeabilities die to go behind the image. Then I wrapped some purple oragnza round the black card panel, tied it in a bow, and added the bling.

Hope you guys can join us this week, there are three chances to win!!

Purple and Lace

Hiya folks!
Hope I find you all well today. I'm not feeling so fab today, blooming IBS is playing me up. Spent a few hours in the night awake and in the loo. Still visiting it this morning, but not feeling so sicky now thankfully. So, sorry about the lack of enthusiasm today!
Enough of my troubles.
Today I have my DT piece for The Crafty Purple Frog Challenge.
Our theme this time is 'Purple and Lace'. My fav colour!!

I have used a gorgeous sheet from Amy's store, named 'Elegantine in Dawn, decoupage'. My dp's are off the compy stash. Ribbon and lace from the stash also. The pearls are new, from the local craft shop. I made my flowers with punches and metallic coloured brads. Also added some stickles too. The circle frame thingy is an element from a paper set by Just So Scrappy2

Please come and join us this fortnight with your Purple Lacey projects!!

Hugs to all,
Teri xx

Recycling at SPS

Hiya folks!

How is your Easter weekend going? Spent my day gardening yesterday. Still trying to beat those blooming weeds and get me veggies in. Bit dull today, so I'm spending my time in the crafty corner, LOL

Needed to blog my DT creation for Sweet Pea Stampers, and this time round we are after your 'recycling' !! Normally I don't do much of that on my cards, but I made an effort this time as I failed to make a card for the last fortnight.

So I rummaged around and found an old belt that doesn't fit. It was a bit 'hip' anyway, as it was wooden beads, cord, etc. And I used up a paper bag that my crafty goodies came in when I went shopping the other day, oh, and a bit of ribbon that you get in new clothes on the shoulders. Why do they put that there??

The paper bag was scrunged up and then flattened for the backing. My patterned dp's are from Just So Scrappy2. The image is a gorgeous digi-download from Crafty Purple Frog (no colouring required!). I used a MS punch for the bottom loopy bit, tied the belt bits round the card, threaded the ribbon through the big button and tied it in a bow.

Hope you guys can join us at Sweet Pea Stampers this time!

I am entering these challenges with this card -

A Father's Day Card

Hiya folks!

Yeah, I know it's a tad early for making Father's Day cards, but I wanted to see how this one looked before deciding whether I was going to use it or not.

A few weeks back I doodled this image of a Vintage Spitfire:

And I have been wanting to use it on a card, so decided that this week'
 'Anything Goes' theme at
The Delicious Doodles Challenge
was the perfect time to try it out. And here is what I made with it:

I had some mottled dp in my digi-stash to thought that would be perfect for a camoflaged look. Can't see it too well now though. It's not too great IRL either. Decided on a vintage look, so I printed the image in a sepia colour, but it is a bit pale, so I think I may replace it with a black version for the card I send to my Dad. Here is a close-up:

I have added gold coloured dots round part of the card, and a fake stiched effect on the left panel. Added a wee bit of bling with the gold brads, and used an old fashioned typeface for the sentiment (called Broadway).

Honest opinions now, does it work? I'm in two minds. I know we are our own worst critics, but this somehow looks a little dull and unimpressive to me.

Anyroadup - hope you can join us this week - remember - anything goes!!!

I'm Ba-ack!

Hiya folks!

Missed me? No? Ah well, whatever! Warning - photo overload!!
I've been on some jollies. Hubby and the kids decided last Friday pm that they all wanted to go camping for the weekend, so off we trotted on Saturday morning. The weather was glorious to say the least. We went across to the West Coast of Scotland to LochCarron to the Wee Campsite (yes, that is its name!) Here is a piccie of LochCarron:

Got in some scenery, took sproggs up the Bull Pass a VERY windy road, which is little more than a tarmac covered dirt track with passing places, across to the village of Applecross (as seen on TV)

This is almost at the top, the road is mostlt hairpin bends and bloody scarey when you are close to the edge!!
So glad we didn't meet any large vehicles, those passing places are so tiny. . .

And here is the view at Applecross, across the sea to Skye, gorgeous!!

We did loads of walking, bar-b-que suppers, fishing, beach-combing. Then on Sunday night it all took a turn for the worst. High winds, belting rain, followed by a HUGE drop in temperature. Monday was more of the same, with snow on the mountain tops - effing freezing in the tent!!

Bit better on Tuesday, a tour round some of Skye followed by a trip to Plockton where they filmed 'Hamish Macbeth' many moons ago, and a 'Seal Watch' boat trip.

Came back to reality late Wednesday evening and spent yesterday washing, sorting bags, oh - nipped into Elgin to see a few Scottish Rugby players that turned up there for a visit, followed by a trip to the pet shop to buy a snake!!!!!!!  Yes, sorry about that peeps! The son has wanted one since forever, and hubby finally gave in and got one. It's only a foot long if that right now, a corn snake in grey with black markings that he has named 'Ash'. Quite pretty really, cute in a wierd way. . . Haven't got a photo of him yet.

I did however get a photo of the family with Richie Gray, one of the players that came to Elgin.
MAN is he BIG!!!
My hubby is a gnats whisker from six foot, and you can see how he dwarfs hubby!!!

Scarey!! Wouldn't want to piss him off would you!! LOL

OK, enough of my snaps.

Just want to know there is a new theme over on the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog - 'All Stitched Up'. Didn't have a chance to get anything done for my contribution this week due to all this galavanting about (me bad) but I hope that won't stop you nipping across to take a look at the DT's stunning creations!
Catch ya later folks!

Easter Blessings

Hiya folks!

Happy Friday to you all. My hubby is especially happy, as he finishes his job today. Don't fret - he has another one to go to, but he has a week off first! He decided we couldn't afford the fuel costs of getting to Inverness and back every day (100 mile round trip) so looked for something closer to home. Lucky thing being an MOT Tester - not too many of them about, and most places need one!! (phew!)

Down to the business at hand then, which is a new theme over at the
This time we are after
'Ribbon for Easter',
and we have a sponsor in the shape of Crafty Ribbons. Thanks peeps!

I chose to use my 'Cross and Roses' image for this one, but I have kept the main part of the card very simple. Just a base yellow in a pearlescent finish, with my image printed in a green colour with green frame and text all in one layer. The yellow fade behind the image was placed there in my dp package before printing. Thought that would be easier than trying to colour that bit in! LOL

Then I coloured the cross image and the flowers, scanned and printed the whole thing, and an extra layer for some popped up bits. Added some stickles to the cross for some bling, some gems to the corners and a ribbon bow. Like I said, nice and simple today. Here is a close-up:

All About the Witchiness!

Hiya folks!

Hope all you Mum's in the UK had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday? Mine was a disappointment. Not only did I have to get up and get my own cup of coffee in the morning, but my eldest kids hadn't bothered to get or make a card. Dno2 had made one at school and she was getting on at them to do one. I had even mentioned it a few times during the previous week too. Just shows you how much they care doesn't it? :(

Well, at least the hubby remembered. He bought some flowers and a bottle of vino and a fluffy toy (why?) which was all supposed to be from the kids. Apparently he couldn't find the choccies in Tesco (huh?) so I went round the local co-op and got my own cheapy ones. What an effing let-down!!

So, I contented myself with making my DT card for Macabre Monday while the hubby cooked a roasty. The theme this week is:
"Magically Witchy!"
You are to create a dark, Gothic, or Halloween-based project That features witches, witchcraft, magic or the occult. Incantations, familiars, potion ingredients, all are welcome this week.
and we are sponsored by Stitchy at Stitchy Bear Stamps (hiya hun!) I spent ages finishing up a new image Witchy image yesterday morning, and have named her 'Kitty Witch':

She isn't in the Delicious Doodles Shop just yet, I will be putting her in on Wednesday along with a few other things, so keep your eyes out for that if you are interested! After finishing her up, I coloured her in with my watercolour pencils, scanned in the coloured image, and printed it out a few times for my layers.
I have seen a few cards in blogland that are like an easel card, but with a waterfall mechanism. Not sure what these are called, but I wanted to give it a go. So after much cutting, sticking, swearing and faffing with bits of plain paper, I managed to figure out how they are done! LOL. And here is the front of the finished card:

I used plain black card for the most part, with some black textured card from Kanban and some gold mirri for the panels, top, bottom and sides. I smeared some metallic gold rub-on over the textured card for a bit of zing, and did the same for the edges. Here it is sat with the easel bit popped up:

I added some mirri die-cut shapes to the corners which were cut using my shapeabilities Fleur-de-Lys die, and also popped a few gold brad heads on for a bit more 'something'. Needed to make me a 'Get Well' card for a DT buddy, so the sentiment is personalised for her. Just wish I could send her a spell or two to help out in her life's troubles. This will be sent in the post today, hope it gets to you safely hun . . .!!

And finally a close-up of the finished and layered up image. Didn't bother adding any stickles or glitter. Me thinks she looks fine as she is! Bit of a 'Kiss meets Alice Cooper' thing going on with the eyes, but what the heck! All adds to the effect huh?!

Oh, forgot to mention the skulls - they are supposed to be Cat skulls, but I elongated the teeth for a bit of dramatic effect. Not sure if they are anatomically correct, but who cares eh?!

OK, so I hope you can join in with us this week over at Macabre Monday - see you there folks!!

A Quick Kiddies Card

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well today? Me? I've got me a bellyache this morning, probably the IBS playing up again I expect. Ugh! Enough of my problems, I have a quick card for you.

This was a quickie that I knocked up for my daughters friend. It was her birthday on Thursday and Dno2 was invited to the party, so I had to make something a bit quickish! Knowing that she has a Westie, I plumped for using my Willie the Westie image, coloured with watercolour pencils, scanned and printed for layering.

Thought I would go for some springy colours rather than the obvious pink and girly ones. The dp's here are all off my compy from various suppliers. I printed out a computer generated sentiment too.

The buttons and ribbon are from the stash. Had me a bother of a time getting the ribbon to go through the tiny holes in these buttons, so it took a little longer than planned to make, but I got there in the end!!

Right, gotta go and try to forget the bellyache by hacking seven shades out of the kitchen walls!! They are covered in textured wall paint that has loads of bits in. I did that when we first moved in about ten years ago, as we couldn't afford a plasterer, and I couldn't do smooth walls, so opted for texture to mask all the imperfections! BAD idea!! The grease and dust have settled on all the little lumpy bits, and it all looks horrible now - so it's off with the bits!! Wish me luck peeps!!

Something for Mum (in law)

Hiya folks!

Ah, the sun is shining! Luvvly jubbly!

I'm a bit late with my post this morning, as I had a few techno issues with MS Word that hubby downloaded last night. Made all my tif images into MS image files, and I had a HUGE panic that I would have to go and change them all - but I figured it out without having to do that (phew!)

Onto my card for today then, my DT piece for the new theme at the
which this week is
'Something for Mum'.
Doesn't have to be for Mother's Day, just as long as it is for Mum! I had blogged last week the card I sent down to my Mum. This week I am blogging the card that I made for hubby's Mum!

I went and made a twisted easel card for her. Hope she understands the wee drawing I sent down to explain how this stands up. She won't have seen this type of card before!

The image I have used here is the 'Mother's Day Freebie' that I put on the Delicious Doodles Blog a few weeks ago. It's still there if you want to go snag it folks!!

I made a little ribbon bow from some organza that I have had forever! Then I added a jump ring and put a wee heart charm on it. I have put some large red gems in the corners of the card for a bit of bling, along with some tiny ones in the flower centres. These are all made with punches and spare pearlescent card from the stash.

My papers are from Bearly Mine Designs. Red and green cardstock also from the stash. I had to make a presentation box for it to sit in, so that it wouldn't get trashed in the post! This I made with my score-board and some spare white card, with some extra dp on the lid.

Hope you can join in with us this week folks! See you there!
