Some Fabby News!

Hiya folks!

Just HAD to pop in here to let you know my bit of good news!

A few days ago Barb at Haunted House Designs emailed me with an invitation to join her and the Minions of Darkness on the Macabre Monday Challenges - how cool is that??

I was well chuffed to say the least, and it took all of 10 seconds for me to think it through and accept the invite - thank you so much ladies!!!!

So I whipped up a quickie picture frame thingy for this weeks challenge of Angels and Demons, and here is a sneaky peak of it:

All the deets and links are on my OTHER BLOG HERE if you wanted to take a looky! Hope to see you there folks!

Spots or Stripes with TLC

Hiya folks!

Time for a new challenge over at The Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog, and this week we have TWO prizes to give away!! As usual I am giving away FIVE of my Delicious Doodles digi's to one lucky winner, but this week we also have a Sponsor in the shape of Paulette from TLC Creations. She has donated us a voucher worth $10 to spend in her store - yeay!!

Lucky us on the DT too, as we got to play with some of her images/sentiments/papers. I chose to use a paper set named 'Once upon a Rose'. Gorgeous colours to choose from in this set! I wanted to use the reds, and I teamed them up with some spotty paper I had (right at the very back) seeing as the challenge at Delicious Doodles Challenges this week is 'Spots or Stripes' (or both). I also found some spotty ribbons in my ribbon box, so I used those too.

The image I used on this card is my Endless Love Dragon and Fairy one, and yes, she is holding a heart shaped pendant, but I put a heart shaped gem on the top of it. I kept the image as it comes and just shaded round it with a red pencil.

I found some old sticky hearts in my cupboard a few days ago, so used these too, as well as a recycled button from Christmas time, and a lovely heart charm. And yes! I finally figured out how to make a watermark for my creations!! Not a png though, don't know how to do those yet. . . Made do with a layered tif (for those who know what I'm talking about!)

I am entering this card into a few other challenges:
Macabre Monday - use pencils/charcoal/smudgy stuff
(used graphite pencil for image, watercolour pencil for shading and ink to smudge round paper edges - sorry it isn't a gorey one this time, but at least there is a Dragon and a Fairy!)
ABC - Sketch and recycle something (button/ribbon)
Creative Inspirations - Buttons and Bows
Totally Gorjuss - Hot (red colour and fire breathing dragon!)
Pile It On - Love is in the air
Crafty Creations - Heat it up (red colour plus fire breathing dragon!)
Charisma Cardz - Valentine/Love

Phew - just a couple then! LOL

Right, MUST go do some food shopping (yawn) before the kids get home and moan because there isn't anything to pick on!! Think I might cook up a stew or Shepherd's Pie for tonight as it's blooming cold today, bbbbrrrrrr!!

Catch ya later peeps!!

Get Well Soon!

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well this Friday morning? My eldest kiddies are back at school today, still got Dno2 off though with the remnants of the flu, so this week's challenge over at Delicious Doodles is very fitting for them, being as it is 'Get Well Soon' or Cheer them up!

Sadly we are saying 'goodbye' to Amy as she has some heavy commitments right now. Hope you do well in all that you do hun, you'll be sorely missed!

My card is made using my Primroses image from the Delicious Doodles shop, coloured with watercolour pencils, scanned and printed for layering up with foam pads. Papers are from Tinker & Co. Brads and ribbon and stickles from the stash.

The sentiment was computer generated and put on the card before I printed the base off. I curled the petals of the top layer of flowers, to give it more dimension, and I put stickles round the petal edges too.

Hope you manage to find some time to play along with us at
this week. Some fabulous contributions from Team B this week, you really ought to check them out!

It's Very Distressing

Hiya folks!

Sorry about the tilte, don't mean to get you all worried! LOL
Just that it is the new theme over at The Crafty Purple Frog this time - Distressing.

I have used another of the new sheets from the Shop HERE named Green Sea Turtle, and here is what I made with it:

I took the brown from the turtles and used that for the main colour scheme. Papers from Tinker & Co, card, lace and metal buttons from the stash. I used those buttons for the flowers centres, inked the cream petals, and smudged copper metal rub-on over the brown petals to match the buttons.

There are loads of prizes to be won this time over at The Crafty Purple Frog - I do hope you can join us there folks!

More Challenges:
Crafty Pad - Something New (decoupage sheet)
Bearly Mine - recipe
Penny's - Anything Goes

New Releases at Delicious Doodles

Hiya folks!

Hope you are all doing OK today? I managed to kick my boy out of bed this morning, so he's off at school (hoorah!) The girls are still home though. D1 has got over the flu, but has been left with a snotty nose. Wee one still had the aches and pains. Hubby now has a sore throat too, but he's soldiering on at work (what a brave boy! LOL)

I have some new releases for you this morning, over at the Delicious Doodles Shop. Had a bit of a Celtic thing in my head, so that's the theme for these images.
First up I sketched a lovely Gothic Angel, but wanted her in a 'perched on something' stance:

Then I thought, 'what can she be perched upon?' As I said, I had a Celtic mood on me, so came up with this circular border for her to sit in, Celtic Frame 1:

I also had a request from the DT to do some more frames, so I went and made an oblong version too, Celtic Frame 2:

Last up, here is the Celtic Heart image I used last week in the Wedding Card post HERE:

I will be posting a card I made using some of these images over on my 'Other Blog' later. It is part of a blog hop being organised between members of the Smeared and Smudged forum that I joined a couple of weeks ago. Not sure when it will 'go live', still waiting for a hop list to be posted there, but here you go with a sneaky peak:

It's an easel card with a twist, being that it is on an angle (thanks for the inspiration Fiona!). Took a while to figure out where to fold the card, but got there in the end! All the deets will be on the 'Other Blog' later today (I hope!) Don't forget to check it out. Can't wait to see what the rest of the ladies came up with!

Right, off to wait for me cooker man to come fix the fan oven. Darned thing can't decide when to work and when not to. . . let's hope it doesn't cost a fortune. . .

See ya later peeps!

Some Bunny to Love

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well today? My kids are all home with various ailments. D1 and 2 have the flu, Son has 'poorly belly and dizziness' illness. Fingers crossed it avoids me. . .

Today I am showcasing one of my new Valentine Cutie images released to the Delicious Doodles Shop last Saturday, Valentine Bunny:

I am also using the blank Heart image behind Flopsy the Bunny. I have coloured both with the usual watercolour pencils, scanned them, and put a sentiment onto the heart held by Flopsy before I printed out. I also printed the rest of the sentiment onto the card base, which is some yummy papers by Papermania (Henbury Lane). The centre scallops are also from that range, with the heart backing is from Funky Hand.

The ribbon is recycled from Christmas - was on a box of choccies. I also tied a bow from the same ribbon. For my layout I followed the sketch from Midnight Madness, but I omitted the flowers at the top - no space!!

Right, just a quickie today what with icky kids to tend to! Best get on folks, see ya soon!

Some more challenges this card fits into:
Secret Crafter - With Love
Paper Playtime - Use 'Love' Word
Wild Orchid - Get Sentimental
Tip Top Tuesday - Use a Sentiment

All White Mate??

Hiya folks!

Hope you are all well today? Kids are all moaning about belly aches, leg aches, headaches, so I guess the colds and such are all about to hit (been back to school for a week, so about that time) Better get stocked up with pills and remedy's. . .

This fortnight's theme over at Sweet Pea Stampers is 'All White' except for the image. I find these rather difficult to do, as I don't have a lot of white dp's or cardstock in white. I did manage to find a cardstock that has a 'cracked ice' texture, so I used this for the base card. The image is one of Ching Chou-Kuiks downloads from the freebie colouring pages on her website. I kept the colours to a bare minimum using my watercolour pencils.

The flower I made with punches and scraps from my bits box, with a glitter brad for the centre, and some stickle dots on the petals. I put stickles round the image too for some extra bling. Managed to find some wide white ribbon that had been recycled from somewhere, and put some white lace trim over the top of that. Last touch was a white feather, organza bow and some pearls.

I think it turned out OK, what do you think?

Digital Tuesday - All White except image
Crafty Anns - New (glitter brad and pearls) and Old (stash)

Quick and Simple Wedding Card

Hiya folks!

Weyhey!! The sun is shining today! At last a break in the gloomy cloudy murkiness of our Scottish winter. You can almost feel spring lurking round the corner. . .

We have a new challenge today over at The Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog, and this time it is simply to use three colours (plus skintones) in your creation. I have used Black, Green and Yellow for mine. Nice and cheerful. I also decided to do a simple Wedding card for a change. Not that I know of anyone getting married anytime soon.

I used my Rose Corner image for this, copied and flipped to use in the four corners with a green border behind. The big heart in the background is a celtic knot I drew ages ago. Must get round to putting that in the shop too, as it's that time of year! I made the sentiment on the compy and printed the whole thing in one piece on a very pale yellow tinted background (along with a few extra roses for layering). Then I put stickles on the roses and on the dots of the heart image.

Sweet and simple today. Hope you can find the time to join in with us at the Delicious Doodles Challenge this week. See you there peeps!

An altered picture frame. Pop over to Delicious Darkness for all the deets on how I made this (if you dare, mwuhahahaha!!) See you there peeps!

So, Tammy is in charge for our first challenge of 2011, and she has chosen the theme of

Now, my little sis has her B'day next week, so I knocked up this quickie for her using my digi-image, Rose Corner:

Just a couple of simple borders done on the dp package, and all printed in one, with the layers of the image printed seperately. All I added as extras were the bow and some stickles. Simples!! (Just hope she likes it!)

Hope you find some time to come craft with us at The Sisterhood - see you there!

Roll On Spring. . .

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all after the weekend? I'm hoping to pop into town today to get some craft shopping in, as long as it doesn't snow again. Trying to melt just now, but more slushy stuff forecast for later.

I wanted to pop by and post my card made with my new image released to the Delicious Doodles Shop on Saturday, 'Snowdrops'. I am hoping we get a good Spring this year, so late last year, but the apples loved it. I always get a fantastic show of snowdrops in my garden, took a photo of some of the clumps last spring, and thought it was about time I got round to drawing one of them, this is the result:

Managed to make a card with the image, which I coloured with the usual watercolour pencils, scanned and duplicated for the layers.

My dp's are all various digital ones, apart from the script. I made that myself using a lovely poem I googled which you can find HERE. The author is a lady by the name of Angela Yardy.

Used up some ribbon and lace from the stash, on top of another dp that was trimmed with an MS punch. Last thing was the addition of some pearls in the corners. Just lifts it a bit I think.

Hope you like it. I am currently working on a 'dark' project for my other blog, Delicious Darkness, which is there specifically for my more gothic/alternative stuff. Thought I should keep them seperate from my more mainstream stuff!! LOL. I will post that later in the week, as long as I get it finished by then!!

OK, need to dry the hair now and get myself ready for my shopping spree. See ya later folks!

Some challenges I am entering:
Stamp Something - Digi Day
SCSC - Texture
CYDA - Anything Goes
Daring Cardmakers - Snowdrops

Delicious Doodles Challenge #7 - NEW

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well today? A cold start to the day here in NE Scotland, minus 3 degrees when setting the kids off to school this morning, bbbrrrrrrr. . .

Today sees the first Challenge of 2011 over at The Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog, and this week we want to see all your NEW stuff. I'm sure many of you had some yummy crafting stash for Xmas - you could break that out - or you could use a new technique, whatever!!
I spotted a new folding technique (well, new to me!) on THIS BLOG which I wanted to try out, and this is the result:

I am also using one of the new images from the Delicious Doodles Shop, Dark Valentine
Just had to go Gothic with this one! I got out my fleur-de-lys dies and the Iron Railings MS punch set and went to town!! I wanted to make it kind of romantic as it is supposed to be an 'alternative' Valentine's Day image, but didn't want to go with red. Guess what?? Yep, I used purple instead, teamed with black and silver. Yummy!
(If you want to see more photos of this project, why not pop across to my new blog dedicated to my 'Dark Side', mwuhahaha!)
I made the card into an easel card, punching the corners and the silver mirri with the Iron Railings set. My base card is a lovely purple core-dinations card with a paler purple middle when scratched. The patterned papers are from Susan at Crafty Chaos Designs, which I layered onto silver mirri. I attached some little silver metal 'brad heads' to it for some bling. The skull and heart image will be available soon in the Delicious Doodles Shop.
The main image is coloured with watercolour pencils, then scanned and printed for the layers which I decoupaged. The silver metallic ribbon is one from a local supermaket, and comes with those little beads attached. It's actually a Christmas ribbon and has snowflakes on it too, but I cut those off. Last bit of bling here are the large black gems.
I made the folded card technique bit into a matching gift envelope using black and purple core-dinations for the base card. I used that Iron Railings set round the edges, and my fleur-de-lys dies for the silver mirri shapes that I decorated it with. Some of them had to be cut in half for the triangle decs, which also needed a wee trim to get rid of the sticky-outy bits left after cutting in half.
I popped some large metal brads here and there too for some extra blingy touches. The wrap at the front is made using the same card and a dp from the same set at Crafty Chaos, topped with a black RAK from a DT buddy (Thanks hun!) and some more of those fake brad heads, with purple and black organza ribbon to tie with.
Phew! What a long post! But then, this project did take days and days to knock up! All those dies to cut and trim, loads of fiddliness!! Hope it was worth the effort? Just wish I could sell it now. Could do with selling some of my cards. I seem to be getting quite a huge pile under my board. I gave up selling on Ebay a while ago as their overheads became too large and it wasn't worth continuing to sell them there.
Anyroadup - hope you can join in with us at The Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog this week. We'd love to see you there folks!
Some challenges I am entering with this card:
Fussy + Fancy Friday - Card + matching gift (envie)
Fab n Funky - Anything Goes
MAWTT - Old and New stuff (old stash, new image + technique)
Cute Card Thursday - Old Stash
Paper Cutz - Metal

All New at The Crafty Purple Frog

Hiya folks!

You've gotta take a look at the new image sheets from Amy at The Crafty Purple Frog! So many yummy images to choose from - gorgeous! As well as these sheets, there is a new challenge on the Crafty Purple Frog Challenge, and it's 'NEW'. Time to get out those scrummy new christmas crafting goodies you all got (hopefully)

I have used a lovely decoupage sheet named 'Ivy Mermaid' for my card. Isn't she pretty? I just had to team her up with green and pink papers (from an old Tinker & co set). I have also made a flower with bazill and have curled the petals too. This is a new way for me, I usually fold it all outwards - hope it works. . .

I added a bit of lace behind the image and papers which I splodged with ink to match the pink and green colours. Final touches were some gems, a brad for the flower and some stickles.

Hope you can find the time to join in with us this fortnight - the girls have worked wonders this time, why not pop over to the Challenge Blog and take a look!

I am also entering this in the challenge at Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes, plus Lace

Panda Love Thank You Card

Hiya folks!

Phew, I'm late posting this today. Blame the hubby - he nicked the compy after I put this new image in my shop, and has only just left the darned thing!! I wanted to pop in and let you all know that I have a couple of new images in the Delicious Doodles Shop, so without further waffle, here they are:

Panda Love:

Dark Valentine:

And a couple of silhouettes that had vanished from the shop:

The Lovers:

New York Skyline:

I managed to finish a sample card for the Panda Love image using a yummy colour scheme of blue and cream set by the OCC Challenge. BUT I forgot to use the vellum and metal, but hey, there you go (duh)

My backing papers are from Funky Hand, but the circular one is one that I have on my PC which has no name! I used cream card, and also blue bazill for the base, as well as the flower, which is made using some punches and a Marianne die set. I set the centre with a wee gem, and popped some stickles on the circle too. The lace in the background (which is only just visible) has been inked to match the colours of the card. I also decided to use a 'Thank you for being you' sentiment, as there are a few challenges for Thank You at the mo. This was done with the PC before printing the paper out.

OK, off to get the wee one bathed now then - have a great evening folks!

Some Challenges I am entering with this card:
CRAFT - Thank You
Cute Card Thursday - Thank You
Allsorts - Thank You
OCC - Thank You + colour scheme
(mine almost fits, but I'm entering anyway)
Creative Inspiration - New (image)
