A New Year Card

Hiya folks!

Hope you all had a fabulous Christmas with loads of yummy goodies? We had a quiet family weekend, with the kids playing their new Wii (they're still on it today!), so not much telly for me I'm sad to say (I hate games!)

I am turning my attentions now to the New Year (roll on Spring!) planning new things for the garden. Nothing exciting though - just going to try out growing more veg and fruit and less flowers. Can't do much other than planning right now - ground too frozen for the next couple of months, but I can go and clear out the stuff I don't want any more, and make some cold-frames etc.

Speaking of the New Year, I have put a little FREEBIE sentiment on the Delicious Doodles Blog page, so if you want it folks, head over and snag it!

This is a card I made using the said FREEBIE, coloured with graphite pencil, along with my Magherita image coloured with watercolour pencils. The background is a clock image I had from last year that I fiddled with and tinted out to make it look faded.

I made a black and white backing paper using some photoshop brushes and put that behind the Magherita image, along with some silver mirri, then added a bit of curling ribbon behind the sentiment for a wee bit of extra bling. Nice, quick and easy!

Hope you all have a great New Year folks, with all the health, wealth and happiness you could wish for!
Teri xx

A Big Purple Thank You

Hiya folks!

Merry Christmas everyone! Tomorrow is the 'Big Day' - my kids are so excited and hyper at the moment. Not much chance of getting them to sleep very early tonight. . .

Today sees the start of
Challenge #6 at The Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog,
and this time we want to see 'Purple' on everyone's creations.
Purple is my most fav colour, so this was a breeze for me!
I thought I would use my 'Thank You' FREEBIE sentiment which you can snag from the Delicious Doodles Blog.

I printed it 3 times onto card, once in purple, then twice in B+W so that I could colour the flower and ecoupage it. I added some Art Deco corners to the purple print-out and used that as one layer which I stuck to some yummy purple cardstock.

I used the same card for the lacey border bit, along with a lighter pinky-purple card, inked the edges and popped some purple ribbon round it too. Then I tied a bow with the same ribbon, and threaded a little flower charm through the bow. Last thing was to add some wee gems to the lacey border.

So there you have it folks. A nice and easy challenge to see us through to the New Year. Next challenge will be up on 7th January, so there are two weeks to get your entries in at the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog for your chance to win some digi-images from the Delicious Doodles Shop

Here's wishing you all Happy Holidays!

Love and hugs,
Teri xxx

Last New Image Before Christmas

Hiya folks!

I hope you are all managing to get your arrangements sorted for Christmas? So many poor sods stuck in airports over here in the UK, with no relief in sight. Take my advice folks - DO NOT travel at Christmas!! Something always goes wrong at this time of the year - last year was that Volcano followed by bad weather, this year a bit of snow and ice! LOL

Well, I have the kids home from school AGAIN. Both the Primary and High School are shut today. Not meant to break for Christmas until Wednesday up here in N. E. Scotland! So that's another loooong weekend notched up for them. (sigh)

Decided to do another doodle (last one before Christmas) and thought I would do a different Fairy image this time, in the way of making her a sketched image rather than line art, and here she is, the 'Wistful Fairy', available now in the
Delicious Doodles Shop:

And I have made a card to showcase her using one of the sketches from Midnight Madness:

I also chose to use the colour scheme from the challenge at Colour Create, which is 'Plum and White'. The base cardstock is from the local craft shop. Papers are my own from the 'Snowflake' set, which I have made into a tinted version and negative version. I have also used white card and plum mirri for the snowflake flowers and the frame round the image, with gems for the snowflake flower centres. Ribbons and stickles are from the stash.

Righty then. Off to go shovel some more snow now, after getting lunch for the kiddo's that is. Oh my aching shoulders!! Catch ya later peeps!

Sweet Pea Stampers - Anything Goes!

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all safe and well today? No snow overnight, but having a bit as I type. Not much to speak of though - and weyhey! There goes the first snowplough for two days!! Blimey! Trouble is he's gone the wrong way up our road, and ploughed the snow towards the cars, so now we'll have to dig them out again (dipsticks!)

My card today is my DT piece for Sweet Pea Stampers, where the theme over the Christmas holls is an 'Open' one. I have cheated today and used a decoupage sheet from The Crafty Purple Frog, 'Cherish Christmas'. I have also kept it really simple.

I have followed a sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges, but they have a new challenge up today, so I won't  be able to enter this there now. Ah, well. My papers are from Pink Petticoat, on which I put gold marker pen round the edges. This was all placed onto cream linen effect card. There is gold textured card under the image, and gold fake brads in the corners. The patterned frame is one from my DP package. Ribbon from the stash.

I hope you can find the time to join us over the holidays at Sweet Pea Stampers! See you there folks!

Challenge #5 at Delicious Doodles

Hiya folks!

Well, here we are again, another week, another white-out!! Just when we were all getting back to some kind of normality it goes and snows again - and it's still coming down. Schools are shut, so I have the pleasure of not just the hubby on his holls from work, but the kids too. It remains to be seen if we get the same probs on the roads as last time. . .

So, it's Friday, so time for a new challenge at
and this time we have a wee sketchy from our very own Pascale:

And this is my take on the sketch:

I have used 'Candle with Ivy' for this card, coloured with the usual watercolour pencils, scanned in and printed a few times for layering. My papers are from a variety of places, artylicious cd, Tinker & Co, MyGrafico, and have been inked on the edges.

I used gold mirri at the bottom of the image panel, and gold ice-textured card for the leaf punches. Flowers are made with punches and spare card, with petal edges inked and rubbed with metallic rub-on. The centres are fake brads, as are the five in the top corner. These are so easy to use, just sticky gold dots really! I have also used loads of stickles - gold for the frame and the sentiment, yellow for the ivy leaves and candle.

I hope you manage to find the time to join in with us at the
this week. I know your schedules are probably very busy right now, I know mine are!
Stay safe and warm folks!!

It's Christmas at TCPF

Hiya folks!

Gosh, where has the week gone to? I can't believe I haven't blogged for almost a week!! I hope I find you all well and not totally snowed in where you are?? Only a small flurry here in NE Scotland, despite the forecast of 'heavy snow' Don't think it will be as bad here as it was the last week or so. (I hope anyway!)

Righty then, my card today is my DT piece for The Crafty Purple Frog, and this time we are celebrating 'Christmas'. This is our last challenge until the New Year, but I hope you will find the time to join in. We have a fab sponsor in the shape of 'Kenny K' along with the usual Purple Frog sheets, so plenty of prizes up for grabs!

I have used Crafty Purple Frog Pyrimage sheet 'Poinsettia Fairy' for this card. My papers are a mix of Tinker & Co and my own paper that I made using a coloured version of my own Poinsettia image, and one that I made after scanning some wallpaper into the compy. The ribbon is an old wired tartan one I have had for a few years now, bow is hand-tied. The flower is a fabric one with added beady stems, I just popped a bit of red ink on the petals for some definition. Gems are also from the stash.

You'll have to forgive the odd colouration on these photos, they were done in a hurry in less than naff lighting last night!! Can't improve on that at the mo, as the light here is just abismal. OK, so hope to see you over at The Crafty Purple Frog folks! Bye for now!

Delicious Doodles Challenge #4

Hiya folks!!

Can't believe how long it is since I blogged anything - me BAD!!

Been a bit busy with the Christmas arrangements, trying to get pressies that had been ordered, but not delivered to the shop it was ordered from, plus hubby home on holls from work. So I've been a bit sidetracked I'm afraid! But I'm back now though (for a bit) - and the snow is melting which is a huge bonus!!

Right, to business then. The new theme is up and running over on the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog, and this week we have a recipe for you: 1 x image, 2 x designer papers, 3 x embellishments - couldn't be easier!! The ladies there have worked wonders again this week - thanks peeps!!

I only just got my creation done in time, didn't photograph it until 8.30am today as I lost the daylight yesterday. And the reason I left it to the last minute? Had to finish up an image I was wanting to use, which I only got done yesterday afternoon, 'Skeletal Candle Holder':

Yeah, sorry it's a bit 'dark' but I do enjoy doing these types of image! LOL. I left this exactly as it comes as it is a sketch so doesn't need much else. I teamed it up with some yummy papers I got from Susan at Crafty Chaos Designs, 'Arsenic and Old Lace'.

I also wanted to enter the challenge at Macabre Monday (use only 8 items) which was a bit challenging to say the least!! Cheers Barb! My 8 items are: 1: base card printed with 1 dp, 2: black lace trim, 3: dp no.2, 4: Image printed with celtic style border (all in one!) 5: large oval black gem, 6 &7: card pieces for flower, 8: brad for flower centre.

So, I do hope you can find the time to join us over at
The Delicious Doodles Challenge this week, amongst your other seasonal 'things to do'. See you there folks!

Managed to find a couple of other challenges I can enter this into:
Allsorts - Candles
ABC Challenge - J for Jewels (one huge black one)

SPS - Me Late!

Hiya folks!

Ooopsies! Late again! Should have posted this one yesterday, but never mind, I'm here now with the new theme at Sweet Pea Stampers. This fortnight we would love to see your Sweet Pea creations using the colours 'Purple, Silver and White', yum!!

I have used some gorgeous silver holographic shimmery type cardstock for the base card. Got this online many moons ago and only found it again this week! (me bad!) Papers are digi from funky hand and MyGrafico printed in grey and purple. Layered the pruple one on purple bazzill and sponged purple round the grey one before mounting onto the base card. Used a yummy sketch from Pear Tree Designs for my layout.

My image is Ching Chou-Kuik's 'Winter Watcher', coloured with the usual watercolour pencils. I put a little white and purple frame round her for definition. Big silver ribbon is from the stash as are the gems in the flower centres (made with spare card and punches)

I hope you can spare the time to come and join us this fortnight over at Sweet Pea Stampers - you could win a few yummy stamps to add to your collection if you play along! See you there folks!

Another Bah-Humbug Christmas Card

Hiya folks!

Bit late on parade today, had to battle the elements to get DS to the dentist and get his tooth fixed. Blooming thing broke the other day and an absess came up too, so he's on antibiotics for 5 days now. Good job it's only his first set still, the big one is beginning to show above it, so hopefully the plug she put in will last until the new one comes down.

Right - to business then! My card today is a bit dark, and showcases one of my new designs, The Bah-Humbug Tree, available now in the Delicious Doodles Shop. It is also my DT piece for the new Delicious Doodles Challenge #3 which this week is super easy - 'Use a Digi'.

This card took me three days to make! Man did I ever fuss and flap over the dp's and ribbons and frew-frew bits!! Must have changed everything at least twice! But I settled with this lot in the end. The card base is regular black cardstock, smeared with silver rub-on. The first dp is a lovely damask one that I have stored on the compy. I think it came from MyGrafico, but don't quote me on it! LOL. I printed this in black with a dark grey backing, looks kind of purple in the photo though.

Next dp is a text one from an artylicious cd, again printed in black. Last dp is my own snowflake one which I printed as a negative version of the black. For the frew-frew bit across the middle I used some pearlescent black and some holographic silver card, punched with a new MS extra-deep border punch. On top of that I put some fake flock paper, some black trim and a wee thin black and silver ribbon.

At the top is a shapabilities die, the fleur-de-lys cut from the same silver card, which I also used to make the snowflake flowers along with the black pearlescent card too. These were topped off with a tiny snowflake punch and black gems.

My image is coloured with a mix of watercolour pencils, and a regular 6B pencil for the tree itself, with a wee drop of red dimension paint for the Raven's eye.

So there you have it peeps!
Hope you can join us this week at

Easy Easels at The Crafty Purple Frog

Hiya folks!

Hope everyone is safe and warm today. Well it actually got warmer last night! The afternoon temp was -6.7 but when hubby got home around eight o'clock it was -5.3!! We had another little flurry, nothing to speak of though (phew!) Thankfully I don't need to dig the car out today - me Tesco van got here eventually, three hours later than planned due to their van freezing up!!

Anyways, on to my card today which is my DT piece for this fortnight's Crafty Purple Frog Challenge. We are after Easel Cards this time, nice and easy for you (and me!) I kept mine nice and simple too. Just white card for the base work, with glistening snow writer round the edges, papers from an old Tinker & Co. digi kit, some spare card punched with me MS Iron Railings corner punch, gems sentiment and of course the sheet I used for the image, Merry Season Decoupage. My layout was following the sketch at Truly Scrumptious, but I didn't use the 'pink' option, sorry!

Hope you get to join us this time at The Crafty Purple Frog. Why not pop over and take a look at my DT sistah's creations? Some fab inspiration there peeps!

A Snowy Scene

As if we needed any more folks! LOL

Hope you are all safe and well today peeps. Brrrrrrrr -20 in the Highlands last night!! Not quite the record here in the UK, but not far off!! So blooming chilly this morning my breath froze to my hair!!

I'm blooming knackered today. Our school opened after two days being closed because of snow, so walked there. Then I went up the road to get some nuts and fat balls for the birds, and a spare shovel as hubby stole mine for the van in case he gets stuck going to work! That was a struggle - no grit on the path at all, so there I was a slippin' and a slidin'. Great fun coming back with me hands full. . .

So, I got home and dug out the car from under the ice and snow, plus some extra to get it in and out of the parking space, oh, and some path too for the kids to get to the door. Then I got the car started (phew, no flat battery!) and attempted to defrost the poor thing. Still got ice on the roof, but the screen is clear at least! Trouble was, the darned thing was frozen to the road!! Took some rocking to free up those tyres!! (no I didn't push it! LOL)

Anyways, got me a card to show you today (at last!) I've gone all vintage with this one, at least I hope it looks vintage! I have just released some new images to the Delicious Doodles Shop, including the one I used here, 'Snowy Postbox'.

It's a sketched image of a snowy village scene - I based the house on ours here in Scotland, but it could be anywhere in the UK. Don't worry you guys in the USA - I have plans to do an American scene too - just need to get on with it! So, here is the card:

I have used some damask style digi paper that I got somewhere but can't remember (useful huh?) To the left is some ribbon with gold banding on, and some lace trim that I splodged brown and gold ink onto, plus a bit more of that yummy ribbon I picked up in Lidl the other week. Thing is, it's all a bit buried under the sentiment and the Snowflake flowers, which are by the way made with various dies and brads for the centres. I have also added stickles to the image on the snowy bits, and round the sentiment border.

Righty then. Need to sort some food for the birdies and defrost their water bath too. Plus I need to get rid of some rather big icicles that are stuck to the guttering out the back. Don't want those landing on me 'ed when I go to the bins!! Stay warm folks!
