Oh deary me folks!
(warning - photo overload!)

Hope you are all safe and warm this weekend. The heavens opened last night and we woke up to a good 4-6 inches of the white stuff. Not unusual I hear some of you say - but for us to get it before our actual winter season is a bit irregular! And me thinks the authorities are underperforming again. No grit on the roads west of Elgin apparently!! Hubby will not be going to work on Monday as he works in Inverness (100 mile round trip!)

It was well eerie last evening when it started. The street lights were reflecting off the snow filled clouds and turned the skies a wierd orangey colour. Well odd - not to mention the TOTAL silence. . . Obviously there was no bird song being dark and all, but there was NO traffic noise either, roads were CRAP to say the least - traffic was at a standstill again earlier in the evening.

And it's coming down again now. Here is a quick couple of pics for you. Yeah it's not much really, but I'm not a keen fan of it, so UGH!!

And now to continue the morose theme, I have a complete non-Christmassy attitude at the mo. Too much of it all over the TV already, not to mention all over the shops starting before September, so I'm a bit of a Bah Humbug! And to celebrate the fact I have released a non-traditional Christmas Corner image based on the ones already for sale in the Delicious Doodles Shop. It's called 'Skull Christmas Corner' - my hubby loves it!! I made a really simple card to showcase it too:

I just printed it and the greeting on some white base card, then coloured the image, scanned it and printed some layers onto matt photo paper. I put some stickles on the image too, but it made the paper a bit wavy, mind you it kind of adds to the effect of the bone, LOL.

While I was at it I took the original skull sketch and messed with it in photoshop and turned it into a 'rubber stamp' effect, liked it, and made another card with that:

I have used some yummy digital damask paper for the base card. The gothic arch shaped was created in my dp package, which I filled with my cobweb image before placing the skull image on top with some foam pads. I made the flower using various snowflake dies and a holly leaf punch. Big gem is from the stash. Text is computer generated using a freebie online download, can't remember where from now, had this for ages and never used it until now!!

So folks - Bah Humbug! to the weather and to Christmas (for now)!!
Apologies again for the photo overload!! LOL
Catch ya later peeps!

I'd like to enter a few challenges with the last card as it has snowflakes on it (in the flower)
Papertake Weekly - Punches and Dies
Crafts and Me - Snowflakes
Digital Tuesday - Let it Snow
Penny's Challenges - Photo Inspiration
(sorry - just HAD to add black!)

Delicious Doodles Challenge #2

Hiya folks!

WOW - I was blown away with all the entries we had for our first ever Delicious Doodles Challenge!! Thank you all soooooo much for your support folks - mwuah!!

Now your going to want to know who one the image I used on my card last week - Winter's Wonder. Well, I did get my little 'magic hands' (D no 2, Hazel) to draw out a name, it was too dark this morning for photos (man - the weather is naff!!) and she chose:

Well done hun!
Get in touch with me and I'll send over the image for you (

On to this week's challenge then, which is a nice, easy one-

You can choose whatever subject you want to celebrate, but seeing as it's that time of year I chose to do a really quick and easy Christmas card using a brand new Delicious Doodles image, 'We Three Kings':

And here is the card:

Dead easy to do. I just printed out a base card with a tinted digital dp on the lower half, a seperate panel with the greeting and a wee strip of another digi dp for a ribbon effect, then printed out the image itself, stuck them all together and added a metallic bow. Done!!

I do hope you can join us this week on the Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog. Why not nip over and take a look at the DT's fabulous creations - they have done me proud again this time!! See you there folks!

Some challenges I am entering this card into:
Totally Gorjuss - Non Traditional Christmas Colours
Fab 'n' Funky - Open theme
Paper Cutz - Open theme
Totally PaperCrafts - Non Traditional Christmas Colours
Crafty Catz - Christmas

LOADS of chances to WIN - WIN - WIN!!!

And if that isn't enough for you -
if you comment on ALL of the DT blog posts
AND enter a make for the 'Anything Goes' Challenge
via the Blue Froggy thingy, then YOU could
WIN TEN Delicious Doodles digi's!!!

OK, so you want to know what the image is that you could win from my creation?
Here it is, a brand new image only released yesterday,
Winter's Wonder:

She has been coloured in with my watercolour pencils, scanned to the compy and printed a few times for the layers. I have bunged copious amounts of stickles on this one!! I used three colours, a clear white, a pale blue over a darker blue printed border round the image, and a silver one for the dots on her dress.

The stars are done with a new Marianne die cut shape, snowflake brads and gems. While I was shopping yesterday I found some yummy gift-wrapping ribbon in LIDL, so I snapped up four reels. The one here in the pic is the silver one, and has wee beads and glittery snowflakes on. The papers are my own design.

I will be loading these into the shop, just as soon as I figure out how to get the size of the file down a bit - just won't load into Payloadz for me!! Bummer!

Right. So if you want to win this little image - get your comment in here peeps!!

And a Partridge In A Pear Tree. . .

Hiya folks!

Bbbrrrrrrrrr, it's turned wintery here in north east Scotland today - we have had loads of hail storms. And guess what?? It's brought the roads to a standstill ALREADY!! Even though the gritters have been out (yes even past my house in the sidestreets) there was a HUGE tailback running through the village an hour ago when I nipped round go get a few bits in the shop. Apparently a lorry had got stuck going up the hill past the village on the slippery roads, and in the middle of the roadworks too. And I heard a report that a lady had crashed into the barriers coming down the hill - hope she's OK. What IS it with this country?? I'd expect it if we had inches of snow, but no, not even an inch of hail on the road and it all comes to an abrupt halt. . . (sigh) I suppose the school will be shut next. . . LOL

Blathering aside then, my card today (yes I got round to making a card!) has been made using one of the 12 Days of Christmas' themed images I have been doodling - a Partridge In A Pear Tree. I have almost done the whole lot - only three left to doodle!

My red paper is from a digi-set named 'sunkissed winter', but I can't remember the designer (so if anyone knows give me a shout so I can rectify that!) I converted the blue colour into black and white, then changed the colour to what I wanted. I put some text on top of some yellow patterned paper from Funky Hand for the central strip. The green layer is a damask pattern I got from My Grafico a while back.

The Partridge image was coloured with the usual watercolour pencils before scanning into the compy for printing out the layers. I put some yummy stickles on the pears for a bit of bling, and have used metallic gold ribbon, gold brads and some gold mirri for the snowflakes behind the image panel.

Right, need to see if my poorly babies need anything now then. Got Dno1 off school with a sore throat and sickies, and Dno2 off with a croupy cough. Oh the joys of motherhood!! See ya later peeps!

Some challenges I am entering with this card:
The Crafty Pad - Red and Green
Pear Tree Designs - Colourful
Tip Top Tuesday - Layer on Layer
Spoon Full of Sugar - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Red, Green and Gold
Crafty Creations - Christmas

Sweet Pea Stampers - Sketch

Hiya folks!

All quiet here today in NE Scotland. Not much of anything going on at the mo, no sunshine, no rain, no wind, no noise! Peace. . .ahhhhh !!

Now, with all the hoo-hah of getting the Delicious Doodles Blog Hop Challenge up and running, I totally forgot to post about the new theme over at Sweet Pea Stampers!!! Oooopsies - me wewy sowwy boss!! So here I am now rectifying that boo-boo! And this fortnight we have a yummy sketch by our very own Pascale:

And here is the card I made:

I have used Ching Chou Kuik's 'It's My Birthday' coloured with the usual watercolour pencils, and have layered it onto papers from an artylicious cd and from Funky Hand. The holly sprig is my own image available in my shop HERE, and the sentiment is one made by Anita Marie available as a FREEBIE HERE. I topped this off with a gold star and some stickles. Ribbon is from the stash, as are the fake gold brads. These are just stickers! tee-hee!!

Job done then. Off you go to Sweet Pea Stampers and take a look at the rest of the DT's fabby creations - great work ladies! You could win some lovely rubbah, but only if you take part this time peeps! Hope to see you there. . .

Crafty Purple Frog - Flowers

Hiya folks!

MAN, have I got a headache!!! Gonna sue the blooming council me thinks.

Yesterday (after months of waiting) they decided to add electricity to the lights they replaced in the street. Not that they needed replacing - perfectly good lights with character (bit twirly and old fashioned). So, there they were POUNDING the tarmac with a digger (no pneumatic drills this time) which ended up shaking the whole house. Did I mention the house is right on the street? The path goes right past my front door. AND the house is over 200 years old with a rather iffy end gable!! To say I was worried about it collapsing round my ankles is an understatement!! (and I went out and told them so too!)

Then today, after doing the shopping trip I return home to find I can't even park outside my own house!!! Lorries all over the place, but only two blokes about. So I though 'F**k IT - I'm parking up anyway to unload the car'. Luckily I had some Iron Maiden blaring out at full pelt, so nobody messed about saying 'You can't park there'!! LOL. Got the shopping in and moved the car round the side street. So now, after putting it all away and loading up the multi-disc CD player with some LOUD stuff I can finally jump on here to blurb about my DT piece for today.

Which is my creation for The Crafty Purple Frog, and the new theme for this fortnight is 'Flowers'. Nice and easy you would think - but I only managed to get this one finished Tuesday afternoon!! Slacker or what!?!

I decided to use the Dragonflies sheet HERE for my card. I only cut one extra layer for a bit of dimension, as the flowers are pretty dimensional in themselves. These were made using my new Marianne dies which you thread ribbon through. That was a bit fiddly I'll tell you - that is after I figured out how to do it! LOL. I topped them off with some extra flower shapes and gems for some bling.

My papers are from Tinker & Co, the 'Duckies' collection. Some inky edges and a bow later, and voila (spelling?) job done. Forgive the piccies, they were done with the light fading fast and fingers crossed. Luckily the camera did a great job at adjusting the lighting itself (clever thing!)

Righty then - off to get some stuff sorted and do some more moshing, W.A.S.P. is on at the moment, got a bit of Bon Jovi, The Cult, Guns n Roses and Britney Fox (80's group) Might have a change and get Ozzy going with a bit more Maiden and some Metallica me thinks. Need to shake off the headache!! LOL

Being Thankful at The Sisterhood

Hiya folks!

Welcome to a damp and dreary day here in NE Scotland. I'm sparing some thoughts for the poor so and so's down in Cornwall. I heard on the news this morning that they are coping with floods and landslides there today. Thank goodness we live on higher ground here, so if we flood again in this village it won't get up as far as us.

Speaking of being Thankful, that's the subject of our challenge this week over at The Sisterhood. We don't have Thanksgiving here in the UK, but I know it's coming up for those in the US, and we could all do with being a bit Thankful now and again couldn't we??!!

Now, I've been somewhat busy just lately, and completely forgot that it was my turn to host at The Sisterhood (oopsies!) so I had to whip up a quickie for the samples, and here it is:

I used my 'Thank You Bear' digi image from the Delicious Doodles Shop. I coloured him with watercolour pencils, splodged some stickles and gold dimension paint dots in the corners, and plopped a bow on it. Trouble is, in my haste to get the photo done I put my finger on the dots and one of them got a bit squished! (sigh) Honestly - where's my head at these days??!!

Oh, I know - too busy worrying about the new Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog that starts THIS FRIDAY!!!  And I STILL haven't done my flipping card for it!! Guess what my job is today. . .?

We're almost up to 100 followers - WOW - what can I say folks?! You never cease to amaze me out there in blogland. Only a few more followers to gather, and then I can do the draw to WIN FIVE digi's from the shop.

I do hope you can join in with the challenges we have to offer you - nothing too difficult - honest!! The first one is dead easy!! See you there folks!

Warmest Wishes With Frosty

Hiya folks!

Well, don't know what happened to the storm last night, but I never heard it if it happened at all !! Sun is blazing this morning as I type but it was really cold last night, 1 degree c as I went to bed (that's 32 degrees f for those who speak old english! LOL)

Speaking of cold (tenuous link here) I have a card today that I made with Frosty the Snowman. You can get him HERE in the Delicious Doodles Shop. He was coloured with my usual watercolour pencils and scanned to the compy so I could print out several times and layer up with foam pads. (Tip Top Tuesday Tip). I have also popped some glittery dots for snow and highlights with pale blue stickles.

Went to the local craft shop the other day and bought some new Marianne die shapes of snowflakes, so I wanted to use these. I bought two sets, and intend on mixing and matching them. I used glitter card for the snowflake here, with some gems on and some inky points, and a big snowflake shaped gem that I have had in the stash for a couple of years!! Still have loads left - you may see more of these! LOL

My backing papers are my own design and feature a snowflake image I drew last year. Note to self - put in the shop!!! I made the border bit with an MS punch and inky edges with a blue ribbon from the stash. Had this one for a couple of years too! Bought a whole reel when I was selling on ebay (have several reels of diff colours) and as I don't sell there anymore I have tonnes of ribbon left over!!

Right, really must get on - have a Christmas Shopping night to prep for tonight. Be glad when it's all over then I can get back to some kind of normality and concentrate on the new Challenge Blog. Heck - that starts a week tomorrow, and I haven't made a thing for it yet!!! Better get me skates on as I am the boss. Doesn't set a good example when the boss puts her stuff in last minute!!! See ya later peeps!!

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
Spoon Full of Sugar - Snow and Snowflakes
Tip Top Tuesday - Use an image + tip
(scan coloured images for decoupage layers)
Digital Tuesday - Use old stash

A Traditional Xmas Card

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well this Saturday? Me? I've had a busy morning in front of the compy here.

First of all I needed to get a random number organised for the followers candy on the new Delicious Doodles Challenge Blog, which has now reached over 50!! Way to go peeps!! Winner is now chosen by What a pain that was!! Couldn't figure for the life of me how to get the image panel to work, so I gave up and copied the blurb instead. I do hope you can join us over there. It all kicks off with a Blog Hop on Friday 19th November - loads of digi's to be one!!

Next up was to upload some new images to the Delicious Doodles Shop, which is now done. The first three are part of the '12 Days of Christmas' theme I am attempting to do. Hope I get the all done before this Christmas! LOL. The next image is this one, 'Mother Mary':

A lovely sketch of the Virgin Mary with Baby Jesus. This one is perfect for the more traditional project. I have used it for my card today:

I also made my own backing paper with some photoshop brushes and a little star image I have on the compy. I used it in the background with some text overlaid onto it. The text is actually a verse from the hymn/carol 'We Three Kings'. I used the 'Star of wonder' bit. I also used the same backing in a different colour to make the oval frame, with gold mirri on top, then the image on top of that.

The flowers are made with my usual punches and spare off-cuts of card, and wee gems for the centre. Gold ribbon is from the stash.

Righty then, need to finish up even more doodles, well I say finish up - perhaps start is more appropriate!! Just as well it is raining today, plenty of doodling time if the family let me!! See ya later peeps!

I am entering these challenges with this card:
Wild Orchid - Christmas Red, Green and Gold
Tip Top Tuesday - Christmas Traditions
Charisma Cardz - Christmas
Polka Doodles - Quicky and easy Christmas
Winter Wonderland - Christmas Carol
Crazy 4 Challenges - Square Card

Sweet Pea Stampers - Embossing

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well today? Things are better here with me, all back to normal. D no1 still having tummy troubles though. I'm sure she has the same IBS as me, bit early though as she is only 12, but her symptoms are soooo similar to mine. Either that or it's 'that time' for her body to change into womanhood (oh dear!)

Anyroadup, 'tis time for a new challenge at Sweet Pea Stampers, and for this fortnight we are all about 'Embossing'. You can use whatever embossing technique you like, I chose the simplest, and ran a piece of patterned dp through the big shot with a swirly folder.

The stamp I used is Ching Chou Kuik's 'Midnight Waiting' coloured with watercolour pencils. Brads and ribbon bits from the stash. The sentiment is computer generated and raised on a large foam pad. I have deliberately kept from using loads of layers on this one, as I am hoping to sell it at a Craft Fair next week. People don't seem to like paying extra for posting these days, which is a shame as there are some lovely cards out there.

Be sure to pop by the rest of the DT at Sweet Pea Stampers folks! Some marvelous creations for you to oggle this time!! See you there!

A few challenges I am entering:
Allsorts - Gold, Cream with hint of Red
C.R.A.F.T. - Embossing

Sparkle at The Crafty Purple Frog

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well today? Glad to report my IBS attack was only a one day-er, phew! Back to (almost) normal today, except I have D no1 home with a sore belly (I blame the MacDonalds from last night for that!)

So, to my card today, which is my DT creation for The Crafty Purple Frog. This week our theme is 'Sparkle'. Who can resist blinging up their creations??!! I chose to use a pyrimage sheet with the lovely Northern Most Serenity image on it for my card. You can find it HERE.

I went for a mostly white colour theme to go with the image, except for a wee bit of purple in the shape of the backing paper (very faint tint) and some smudgy inky edges. Apart from those bits everything else is white. (even if the photo does make it look a bit purple)

The flowers, brads, ribbon and gems are all from the stash. The silky leaves are recycled from my old wedding head-dress. Had to find a use for it, as it is over 20 years old and gathering dust in the wardrobe. So I dismantled it and am using up the bits on my creations. (Don't tell the hubby!) I have splodged stickles on the image and on the flowers, although you can't see that very well with these photos. Naff light up here in Scotland at the mo, so apologies folks!

So, if you fancy the chance winning some fabulous prizes, head over to The Crafty Purple Frog Challenges and get entering!!

Some Challenges I am entering:
ABC Challenge - G for Glitter

It's Autumn at The Sisterhood

Hiya folks!

Me late today!! Having rather an 'off' day today. Blooming IBS is playing me up, so feeling icky at the mo. Trouble is, I had to go do the food shop, so that didn't go down very well. And it's my Lewis' Birthday today, so have to put on a brave face. He wants a MacDonalds later (ugh!!) Well, it's a treat for him and the other kids - we don't go there too often (gotta stay healthy you know! LOL)

Onto my card today, which is my offering at The Sisterhood this week. The 'other Terri' has chosen the theme of Autumn, and you need to include leaves. No probs there!

This card was made using my own autumn backing papers, a lovely quote off 'the net', and a photo off 'the net' too! It is a gorgeous piccie of our local lake in all it's autumn glory. Ribbon from the stash. Nice and simple today!

Be sure to check out my sistah's wonderful creations peeps!! See you tomorrow. Hopefully the IBS will be better then. . .

A few challenges:
Mojo Monday - Sketch
Incy Wincy - Open
Polka Doodles - Autumn
