The Sisterhood at The Creative Cottage

Hiya folks!

Yeah, wierd title huh? That's because today I have been a naughty girl and combined two DT pieces into one card - me bad!! Tee-hee!!

So, at The Creative Cottage this week we want to see 'Loads of bling', and at The Sisterhood of Crafters we'd like to see 'More than one flower', a nice easy embellishment challenge. Not too easy then peeps, which is why I managed to combine the two. I have used a sketch from Midnight Madness for my card layout:

And here is my card:

My papers are from The Creative Cottage Shop - 'Trick or Treat' kit. I have used these papers to make all the 'flowers' on this card. I cut out the little cobweb shapes on the different coloured sheets, and then shaded the edges with ink. I then popped a black glittery brad in the centres, scrunched them up and unfolded a bit, finally adding some purple stickles at the edges. Here is a wee close-up piccie:

I have liberally smothered the cobwebby backing paper in some clear stickles too. The corner bits on the image frame are made with a shapeabilities 'fleur-de-lys' die, trimmed to size, and again smothered in yellow stickles this time. Hope it's 'blingy' enough for you girls!

My image is a new one of my own 'Cloaked Lady', available in my Delicious Doodles Shop. I coloured her with the usual watercolour pencils (sorry, that's all I own for colouring!) before scanning into the compy and printing out for layering. I hope I have managed to get the feeling of depth I was after. Do you think she's on her way to meet with the coven? LOL

This fits a couple of other challenges too funnily enough! At Haunted Design House and at Totally Papercrafts the theme is 'Magic', and at Delightful Challenges the theme is 'Sparkle'.

Righty then folks, need to brave the elements and visit the garden centre now. Trying to source some decent fruit bushes for my 'new style' edible garden. Attempting to have a comby of stuff that looks good and is also edible, but I also want to have butterflies and bees, so I need normal flowers and bushes too.

Also still trying to finish me painting, tidying up after the sproggs ready for MIL's arrival, and still got a door to make, along with a frame. Plus I have to finish up some new images and sort out me Delicious Doodles Blog ready for the new DT announcement on Friday.
Oh, my head hurts!!

Tuesday Taggers - Here Comes Autumn!

Hiya folks!

Sorry about my being MIA over the last few days. So much DIY and gardening to catch up on I just had to go do it. Got the MIL coming to stay, so have to spruce up the house (ugh!)

Right, so today is a new theme over at Tuesday Taggers, and it's my turn to host it. I chose the theme of Autumn, and just in time too! Our trees have started to change colour, the temp has dropped (minus four over the weekend). I just love the colours of autumn, so rich and gorgeous!

Autumn is also harvest time, so I made this card with a harvest theme to it using one of my new images 'Pumpkin Corner'.

I have coloured it in with my usual watercolour pencils before scanning and printing for my layers. I teamed it up with a few of my 'Leaf' images in various sizes. The tinted backing paper is also my own with leaves on it. I have added some bling in the shape of some stickles.

Just so happens that this fits a few challenges, so here goes with a wee list:
Crafty Creations - Falling Leaves
Stamp Something - Autumn Colours
Craftalicious - Autumn/Harvest
Digital Tuesday - Give Thanks

Don't forget folks, this week at Tuesday Taggers, we are sponsored by The Craft Barn, so we need to see a link to them if you want to be eligible for the prize of a £15 voucher! Good luck folks!

Sweet Pea Stampers - Charmed

Hiya folks!

Well, some of us in the UK might have the sun, but we here in NE Scotland have the rain, wind and cold!! Time to get the winter coat out me thinks!! Bbrrrrrrr.

It's also time for a new challenge at Sweet Pea Stampers, and this week we are 'Charmed I'm Sure'. That's it, simple! We want to see some charms.

I have used Ching Chou-Kuik's 'Lotus Trio' from Sweet Pea Stamps for my card today, coloured with the usual watercolour pencils, and covered the moon in stickles! My layout follows the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp:

My papers are from The Creative Cottage - Sunny Days and Summer Mornings. Both kits are digital. My ribbon is from my stash, as are the silvery brad tops. These are not actual brads, but just sticky metal dots that look like brads - cool huh?

My charms are not real charms either! These used to be part of a pair of ear-rings that I dismantled. They have been looped through the ribbon at the top. I am entering this in the challenge at Magical Monday, which is 'Under the Sea'.

Right then folks - lets see those charms. Head over to Sweet Pea Stampers for some more inspiration, and to check out the yummy prize up for grabs this fortnight. See you there!

Horrific Haunt - Mwuhahahaha!!

Hiya folks!

What a dank and dismal day it is here in bonny(??) Scotland!! It's so dark and absolutely peeing it down with rain! Ugh! Luckily though I managed to get some photos taken in a brief 'not-so-dark' moment, so that means I can post this new creation, phew!

My card today is a stepper card (is that what they're called?) which I made for the challenge over at Haunted Design House.

All of the images are my own, available in my Delicious Doodles shop. Even the big trees and headstones in the background - these were done by printing the 'Haunted House' image larger and fussy cutting round them. Here are a few close-ups for you:

My layout is (very) loosly based on the sketch at Mojo Monday this week, which I turned sideways:

No dp's with this one, just some core-dinations card and ribbon from the stash, with some stickles for a wee bit of bling. I have inked in the sky on the main image, trying to make it look spookier, and have distressed it with some sandpaper. The front is done with a Martha Stewart border punch.

I shall enter this card into a few challenges too: at Daring Cardmakers the theme is 'Things that fly' (howabout those wee bats then? LOL) At A Spoon Full of Sugar and at Charisma Cardz the theme is 'Open' this week. Last but not least over at Creative Inspirations they want to see more than one stamp/image - I have used 3 images, in varying quantities and sizes.

Right, off to finish up some new doodles now then. See ya later peeps!

A Couple of Cards

Hiya folks!

Grab a coffee/tea and some biccies ladies, this might be a long post! Hope you are all well today? I have been reading that so many of you are under the weather, I do hope things pick up for you soon.

Well, I have been busy in the crafty cavern (my dining room! LOL) creating some cards to show off a couple of new images. These were released yesterday over in my shop, 'Gladioli' and 'Red Cardinal':

First up I'll show you the card I made with the Gladioli image, as this is the DT card I have made for The Sisterhood's new theme. This week it is 'Birthdays', so nice and easy for you all! LOL Hope to see you there ladies!

I followed the sketch from Truly Scrumptious for this card, but I didn't use the blue and green colour combo they had as an optional extra. I went for a yummy pink and green number instead. Here is the sketch, I kind of flipped mine to put the sentiment at the bottom:

I am also entering it in the challenge at Stamp Something, as their theme is 'Digi' this week, SCSC where they have an 'Open' theme, and also at Totally Papercrafts where the theme is Birthdays.

I have used papers from Tinker & Co's Shabby Milly kit (digital). Everything else is from the stash. The Gladioli image is coloured with the usual watercolour pencils, scanned to the compy and printed out for layering.

Next up is my entry for the Midnight Madness challenge, where each week they have a choice of sketches for you to follow. I usually try to follow the fancy one:

This time I made another easel card using papers from Tinker & Co (frame) and an Artylicious cd. I have used my new Red Cardinal image for this one, and made it a Christmas card. This was coloured as usual with the watercolour pencils, scanned and printed for layering. I have popped some stickles over it here and there too, for an added something.

The flowers are all made with my punches, with added stickled dots. The ribbon trim is from Papermania, got it last year and never used it!! (me bad) This ties in with the challenge at Corrosive Challenges (use up your stash).

I am also entering this into the challenges at Pixie Dust Studio (Fur or Feather),and at Cute Card Thursday (Bird or Butterfly)

So, hope the coffe/tea didn't go cold, LOL. I'd better go and do some work now then. So many things floating round in my head at the moment, think it's gonna burst sometimes!! Have a great day folks!

Tuesday Taggers - Anything Goes

Hiya folks!

I want to open with a HUGE THANK YOU to all my blogging buddies out there who sent me their bestest Birthday Wishes. You made my day peeps, you're such a loving and caring lot. Love ya!!

Now, today is Tuesday, so time for a new theme over at Tuesday Taggers, which this week is 'Anything Goes'. Yep, that's right - it's a free-for-all !! LOL. So I chose to go with an easel card I made that also fits a few other challenges too (no surprise there then!) We are sponsored this week by Ribbon Oasis, so don't forget to pop their link in your post!

I have used my own images 'Pumpkin Witch' and 'Pumpkin' for this card. These are both available in my Delicious Doodles Shop, and are now Instant Downloads, so you don't even need to wait for me to send you the images any more!

The Pumpkins fit the theme at Delightful Challenges, whilst the easel card format fits the themes at Polka Doodles and Crafts and Me. I have also followed the sketch from Charisma Cardz for my layout:

And at CRAFT the challenge is to use pencils for you colouring. Yep - that's all I do use! I don't own any markers yet, so no choice there, LOL. I use watercolour pencils for my colouring. Then I scan my image into the compy and make layers to decoupage with. My last challenge to enter is at Simon Says Stamp, where the theme is 'Movement'. The pumpkin on the base is actually on a wobbly thingy I made with some folded paper. It stays flat until you open the card, the kind of pops up at you - hard to show in a photo! Hope it will do.

My papers are all various ones from Little Scrap Garden (I think). The webby backing to the sentiment is also one of my images 'Cobweb'. This comes as a black on white image, but I inverted it in my DP package before printing. The typeface is named 'Dracula' and was a freebie I found after googling for free fonts.

Some bazzil card and some stickles, a ribbon bow and the job's a goodun! OK peeps, off now to get me a cuppa and finish up some more stuff - see ya later folks!

Delicious Doodles - DT CALL

Well folks, Delicious Doodles has been official for a year now, and during that time I have made all of my own sample cards to promote my images. But my ideas get a bit stale sometimes, as you can well imagine! LOL.

I have decided it is about time I got myself a proper Design Team to help me out.

So, if you fancy working with my images and helping me to promote Delicious Doodles, then please get in touch by EMAIL (address is in my Delicious Doodles Shop sidebar in the welcome section). I hope to get round and acknowledge you all individually.

You should include a few details about yourself and your style of crafting.

I would also love it if you could make a post about my DT Call, and pop a few samples of your best works in that post too. Please link this post in your email so I can come and visit your blog and see what yumminess you create.

This will be a permanent posting, for as long as you wish to stay.

You get to play with any of my images that you want, and have access to my new images before anyone else!! There is no challenge blog at the moment, but I may start one in later months, so I want you to be aware of that.

Above all I want you to have fun creating with my images!

I am leaving this DT Call open until Monday 20th September, and I will announce the new DT on Friday 1st October.

Good Luck to you all,

Teri x

An Autumn Fox

Hiya folks!

Hope you are all having a great weekend so far? Mine is a quiet one, eldest kids are on a sleepover, so won't see them until lunchtime. Youngest is still asleep, Dad watching telly, so I have a bit of peace this morning (yeay!)

My card today is showcasing one of my new images - Foxy the Fox - available now in my shop, Delicious Doodles. (Quick reminder - DT Call closes tomorrow!) I printed out Foxy large onto an A4 sheet of card, and coloured with watercolour pencils before scanning in and printing 3 times onto one sheet for my layering. By colouring in a large image I think I have even managed to make the fur look realisitic, what do you think?

My frame is made with a paper I designed myself using a leaf image I have in my shop, which had been coloured. I scanned the coloured version, repeated it several times, flipped and rotated in photoshop and put a graduated background behind them. Then I made a tinted version too for the main card. The darker brown paper is from Funky Fairies (no longer trading). I have followed the sketch from Sketch and Stash for my layout:

The flowers are made using several punches and a leaf punch, all bought from the local craft shop or ebay. The punches fit the challenge at Allsorts (use at least 3 punches) I have used 4. There is a wee gem in the flower centres too. I have used Autumnal colours, which fits the challenge at: Spoon Full of Sugar, and at Craft Your Days Away, where they also want to see Doodles. My last challenge for this card is at Totally Gorjuss, where the theme is 'Wild Thing'.

Righty then folks. Off to do some blurfing and some DT stuff later too, need to photograph a card, and finish up some colouring too. Busy day in the creative cavern today!! See you later peeps, and have a great day!

Teri xx

The Creative Cottage Sneaky Peak

Hiya folks!

Hope your weekend is off to a flying start! No exciting plans for me this weekend, even if it is my B'day on Monday (oh no, fourty-something!!) I gave up celebrating my B'day after 35 - too depressing wondering what happened to all that time, LOL.

Anyways, on to my sneaky peak card for The Creative Cottage. Today we are celebrating all the fabby Halloween kits that will be available as of next week when the new website opens on Monday. I have used the Trick or Treat kit, and a topper from the new topper sheet collection too.

The only things I needed to add were the orange bow and a couple of die-cut spiders, oh, and some green dimension paint in dots round the topper. Although that bit came out black-looking. Anyone spot the deliberate boo-boo??

Yeah, look closely at the ribbon - that paint splodged onto the bow as it was still damp when I stuck that down. Blooming stuff takes forever to dry - especially when it's chilly. So now the ribbon is stuck to that too!

Ah well. These things happen! So, if you want to get your little mitts on any of the gorgeous kits showcased this week, you had better head over to The Creative Cottage NOW, as today is your last chance! Winners are announced tomorrow. Don't forget our Blog Hop on Monday and Tuesday too!

Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hiya folks - me again!

Second post today - scroll down for The Creative Cottage Sneaky Peak!

Well, it's a bit blooming chilly outside today, so no gardening for me!! I will have to be content with my crafting (oh dear, how sad - LOL) My second post for today is showcasing one of my new images, the Poinsettia, available now in my shop. I did one last year, but this one is more flowing and free and looks a lot better (if you ask me).

I have coloured this with my usual watercolour pencils, scanned it in the compy and printed out for the layering. Some folk have asked how I manage to get my reds to print out so red - I have used my regular Epson printer, with original cartridges not compatibles (colours go all wierd with compatibles I find). I print onto some matt coated paper from my local Tesco Extra store (General Use matt coated photo paper). I also make it a tad lighter in the printer settings, otherwise it comes out a bit too dark. Hope this helps you all peeps!

So, my layout is from the sketch this week at Midnight Madness. Didn't get to play last week - too darned busy!! But I have made the extra effort to play this time! Here is the fancy version sketch:

I have printed out a nouveau style border in red on a creamy backing - too faint to see the pattern (darn!) This has been placed onto dark green cardstock which I have smeared gold metallic rub-on around. The sentiment is computer generated using an 'art nouveau borders and corners' typeface, made very large and in red, with the words done in 'Birmingham' in green. This was printed on a yellowy-gold  background and fussy-cut. Lastly I put some stickles on for a bit of bling.

I am entering a few other challenges with this card too, so here goes:

Colour Create : Red, Gold, White, Cream (sorry - used some green too!)
MAWTT : Christmas
Just Inspirational : Christmas

OK, best be off and get some work done now then. Stay safe and warm folks!!

The Creative Cottage Sneaky Peak

Hiya folks!

Welcome to another sneaky peak at one of The Creative Cottages new kits.

This one, 'Naughty or Nice' will be available next week when the new website is up and running, along with all the other kits we are showcasing this week. Don't forget if you want the chance to win one of these kits get over to The Creative Cottage Blog and pop your name in the comments!

And if you pop over there you can even pick up a yummy FREEBIE too, in celebration of the up-coming First Birthday - Happy Birthday Creative Cottage!! Here is the card I made with this gorgeous kit:

I used one of the embellishments as a main feature here and layered it with foam pads. Everything is from the kit except the brads and the stickles!! (forgive the dark piccies - weather has been so dark and damp lately)

Tomorrow is the last day of our sneaky peaks, so you had better get your names in the comments real quick over at The Creative Cottage Blog. Winners are being announced on Sunday, and we are having a two day blog hop on Monday and Tuesday, so stay tuned for that folks!!

The Creative Cottage Sneaky Peak

Hiya folks!

Hope your day is going well wherever you are. Bit of a damp start here in NE Scotland, nothing new there then! LOL

I have another peak for you today of a new kit to come from The Creative Cottage. As with the others it will be on sale next week when the new website opens (Monday 20th with any luck!). It is one of the Jia Li kits, Friendship this time:

I made another gatefold card to match the 'Luck' one I did the other day. All I needed was some ribbon and card, everything else is from the kit!

If you fancy the chance of winning this lovely kit, and indeed any of the others we are featuring this week, then head over to The Creative Cottage Blog, and pop your name in the comments. Easy as that!
