Tuesday Taggers - Houses

Hiya folks!

Hope those of you in the UK had a great Bank Holiday Monday. Just a normal day here for us in Scotland (sadly!) Bit of a short post today - loads to do and no time to do it in!

Time for a new theme over at Tuesday Taggers, which this week is all about 'Houses'. Sorry, but I am still in Halloween mode! I came up with a new image, a 'Spooky Haunted House', complete with the usual headstones and gnarly old tree:

This is now available in my shop - I have a DT Call on at the mo, until September 20th, so if you fancy working with my images check out the deets HERE.

And here is my card then:

I have printed the Haunted House image twice for my layering, and just cut out the house and stones part. I have popped some stickles round the edges to make it look like glimmering moonlight. Not sure if that bit works really. I sponged some black ink round the image too, just to try and add some 'atmosphere'. The cobweb dp is one from last year which I also smothered in black ink.

Orange cardstock is from the stash, as is the green paper and ribbon and gems. I have also dotted some dimension paint on the band across the middle, which was border cut with a martha Stewart border punch. I'd love to get my mitts on some more of the, but they cost a small fortune!! Will have to save some more pennies first.

I am going to enter this at Raise The Bar as this week their challenge is also 'Houses', and at the OCC as they want 'Autumn Colours'.

So folks - head over to Tuesday Taggers for some more cool housey creations then - and do have a go! You could win the £15 voucher prize from the Craft Barn this time! See you there peeps!

Sweet Pea Stampers - Flowers

Hiya folks!

Hope all in the UK are enjoying their Bank Holiday Monday. Just a regular day up here in NE Scotland.

This week at Sweet Pea Stampers we are asking to see all things flowery, and you have extra time to play too! We are moving to Fridays as of September, and the new theme will start on 10th and run fortnightly from then on. Plenty of time to create!

I have used Ching-Chou Kuik's 'Spring Witch' for my card today, coloured with watercolour pencils. Papers are by Tinker & Co. All other card is from the stash, as are the gems and ribbon and stickles.

I have used the colour theme from Crafty Catz, which is 'Orange, Blue and Brown'. I am also entering at MAWTT as they want 'Autumn colours, 3 x flowers, 2 x dp's and 1 x ribbon'.

Only two days left to enter the August Entrants Candy, so if you haven't grabbed your chance to win $20 shopping spree at Sweet Pea Stamps, then you have until Tuesday to get in there folks!! Good luck!

The Sisterhood Blog Hop

Hiya folks!

My sassy sistah's over at The Sisterhood of Crafters have decided to honour little old me with a Blog Hop for the next two weeks, in honour of my wee Delicious Doodles Shop being a whole year old! Aren't they just too kind??!!

There is a yummy $60 gift certificate donated by CSNStores.com - details on The Sisterhood Blog - cool huh?? Several of my sistah's will also be having giveaways too - be sure to leave a comment on each blog to be eligible for the prizes!

The challenge this fortnight is to make a project using one of my images (FREEBIES available each day until Saturday 21st in my Delicious Doodles Shop if you don't have any) and enter it at The Sisterhood, along with leaving your comment on each blog.

Here is the lineup if you get lost along the way:

So you should have got here from Tanis's Blog, after leaving your comment here you need to pop over to Lisa's Blog, and so on. My prize? Well it just so happens that I am also having a little competition of my own over in my Delicious Doodles Shop, which runs until 31st August, with winner announced on 1st September. You could have the chance to win TEN of my digi-images (your choice)

And, as you may be making something using my digi's for The Sisterhood Challenge, why not pop over and enter the same project in my competition too? That's all there is to it!

The blog hop ends on Sunday 29th August with winners announced on 31st (except my competition)

OK, so off you go now to Lisa's Blog, and good luck peeps!!

Clean and Simple - Me??

Hiya folks!

Thought I would pop on with a quickie I knocked up yesterday while the kiddies had the compy. It's a Christmas card again, sorry about that. But there are a couple of challenges that are asking for Christmas this week that I wanted to enter. I will list them at the bottom of this post.

I wanted to do a simple card that was really quick to make. My inspiration was from a new challenge blog that a few of my old ex-teamies have started up. Keep It Simple is the name of the Challenge Blog, why don't you pop over and check it out. Their challenges start today! I am going to enter this card there, but ladies - if you don't think these are traditional colours the please delete my entry. Just wanted to show my support in your new venture.

Talking of new ventures - I am having a DT Call over at Delicious Doodles, so if any of you lovely ladies fancy working with my digital images, pop over for all the deets and how to apply!

So, to the card then. A simple white, black and silver combo, not too many layers or too much froo-froo! I used a pearlescent white cardstock, printed out a greeting and trimmed the paper to just a bit smaller than the cardstock. I wrapped some silver fibre stuff round it before sticking down and stickles-ing round the edges.

I printed out my Christmas Tree image in a frame of black dots, cut this out and layered it onto some silver mirri card, which was raised on foam pads. Then I popped a few wee gems in the centre of the snowflakes on the tree. Job done!

OK, so the challenges are:

SCSC - Christmas
Totally Gorjuss - Christmas in August
Bee Crafty - Open theme
Wild Orchid - Sparkle
Keep It Simple - Christmas Card with Trad Colours
(is white and silver traditional??)

Lovely Little Blue Tit

Hiya folks!

No I'm not freezing to death! A Blue Tit over here in the UK is a little bird with a blue cap on it's head. These little fellas are so busy flitting all over the place. I have a new family visiting my bird feeders, it's lovely to see them and they give me such cheer every time I do. I finally got to take a decent(ish) photo, albeit very blurred, but with a bit of imagination I think I managed to get a pretty good likeness:

He is now available in my Delicious Doodles Shop. BTW - I now have a new Delicious Doodles Blog which will feature all my new creations, as well as Customer Submissions, and creations from a brand new DT, when I have decided who to choose that is! LOL. So if you would like to work with my digital images (no pressure, as there isn't a challenge blog involved yet) then head over to the Shop for application details, or see the stickie at the top of this blog.

Righty then, to my card for the weekend. I have used a sketch from The Pink Elephant for this creation, along with my Blue Tit image:

The papers are from Tinker & Co's new 'Duckie' kit. Ribbon, floral arrangement and gems are from the stash. I have coloured the Blue Tit image with the usual watercolour pencils, scanned to the compy and printed 3 times onto some photo paper (matt) to make my layers. Then it was a snippy-snip-snip job before layering up with foam pads.

I am also entering this wee chappie into the challenge at Papertake Weekly as they have a '3-2-1 of anything' recipe, and at Fab 'n' Funky as they have a recipe too '3 x dp's, 2 x embellies' and 1 x image'. I think it will also fit the bill at CRAFT this week, as they want 'Birthday's or Celebrations', it's my DD no1's 12th Birthday on September 12th, so I made this for her.

OK then. Need to go tidy the shed(s) now then, and weed the garden, and do some washing. Wish hubby would get up and sort the blooming shed. After all, most of it is his car rubbish (from cars that bit the dush years ago!), oh, and a few garden bits here and there, and old kiddies play stuff that broke and needs to go to the skip. No good, will have to get the proverbial whip out (oooo-er missus!) See ya later peeps!

Can Pink be Scarey??

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well today? Not been swept away with all that rain down south I hope? About time someone else had it and not us up here in Scotland, LOL.

My card today is a bit of a pink number, but not in a very girly way, sorry! It is my entry into Barb's Haunted Design House challenge, which is 'Pink on the brink'. And here it is:

I have teamed the pink side of it with black, in an attempt to make it a bit spooky. Still looks a bit too sassy for me though. I have followed the layout from the sketch over at Midnight Madness, which I have turned on it's side:

For my image I came up with a new one which I have named 'Alas - Poor Yoric'. I think it fits the image quite well, in a non-Shakesperian sort of way! LOL. This is now available in the Delicious Doodles Shop. Also there is the 'Webby Corner' which I have overlaid onto my main image after colouring and scanning in. I have added some stickles to her hair, and some pinky-gold dimension paint (Pebeo Touch).

For the lacey part of the sketch I have made some holes in the card and threaded it with an old bootlace, and popped some black pearls between too. Rather than use ribbon at the top of the image I have cut some odd bone shapes. My flowery bit is handmade, and is just some old card bits cut into circles, scrunched up, inked and then linked together with a brad. I added some stickles to the edges too.

I am hoping this fits the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday - 'no dies or punches'. None of my shapes have been die cut or punched. I am also entering at Charisma Cardz, whose theme is 'Hot' this week - my pink is a Hot Pink colour. Hope this is acceptable?

Just thought I would also mention that I am having a DT Call over at Delicious Doodles. I need me some crafty peeps to help out with promoting my wee images, so if anyone is interested in applying, please pop over to Delicious Doodles for all the deets!

Many thanks in advance,
Teri xx

Tuesday Taggers - Poem

Hiya folks!

Sheeesh, another drab start to the day. Doesn't fill one with any inspiration all this grey and wet and chilly stuff. Whatever happened to our summer?

I did however have a small splash of inspiration over the weekend. My teamie over at Tuesday Taggers has challenged us all to make something inspired by a poem this week. Oh dear! was my first thoughts, as I don't do poems. Last time I read a poem was by force during my 'O' Levels at school!! BUT then I thought, aren't songs a form of poetry?? So I decided to do a card inspired by a song.

I remember an old TV programme called Butterflies which had a theme tune 'Love is like a Butterfly', so I googled it and found out it was a Dolly Parton song! I copied the text from the first verse, as this says it all really.

I have framed it in a die cut framabilities shape cut from pearlescent cream card, which I also used to cut the butterflies using a shapeabilities die. I have teamed the cream up with some blue bazill-like card that I got from my local craft shop. I have used the sketch from Cute Card Thursday for my layout:

Now I have come across a few challenges that I wanted to enter this week, so I decided to combine them all with this one! The colour theme is from the 'blue and cream' challenge at SCSC. There are some die-cuts on this card and these are the challenge at Charisma Cardz this week. I have also used a few punches too, mainly for the leaves, and also the little butterflies, and also the panels behind the frame. Last thing was to add some blue dimension paint here and there. I am also entering at Crafty Creations as their theme is Butterflies too.

Hope you ladies don't find it too difficult finding a poem, just remember - I used a song! (me bad!) Hop on over to Tuesday Taggers then and catch some more wonderful creations from my DT sisters, see you there folks!

Sweet Pea Stampers - Lace and Pearls

Hiya folks!

Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was uneventful, nice and peaceful for a couple of hours on Sunday as hubby took the kids to the cinema.

My card today is my DT piece for Sweet Pea Stampers, and our theme this week is 'Lace and Pearls'. I have decided to keep mine simple this time, no extra flowers and froo-froo! (ish)

I used Ching-Chou Kuik's 'Thousand Years Waiting' from Sweet Pea Stamps for my image today, coloured with the usual watercolour pencils with a few spots of stickles.

My papers are by Little Scrap Garden. I used a green spotty one for the frame, and a pink tiny spotted one behind the image with lace on top. The spotty theme was done for the Pixie Dust challenge of 'polka dots' this week. I have used a sketch from Sketch and Stash for my layout:

I added some big pearly brads either side of the image, with smaller sticky pearls in the scalloped area on the same panel. This was made with a Martha Stewart border punch. I have also added some little white spots round the edge of the card as it was looking very dull there. My colour theme of 'pink and green' fits the theme at Penny's Challenges this week.

Just a little note for you folks:
Sweet Pea Stampers will be going to a fortnightly format from September, so you ladies can have even more time to cook up some yummies!! See you there folks!

Spooky, yet Romantic and FREEBIE BASH last day!

Hiya folks!

It's a great start to the weekend here in NE Scotland, if a little blustery. But at least the sun is shining (for now!)

I have a wierd sort of offering for you today. It's a bit girly, a bit Goth, a bit romantic and spooky all rolled into one! LOL. 'Why?' you ask. Well, it's all Barb's fault, our Menacing Mistress of the Macabre over at Haunted Design House that is. Her challenge this week is to make a project using three images - yes - three!! AND she and her minions bestowed upon me the awesome title of 'Mistress of the Macabre' for the month of July - cheers ladies! So here I am with my card for this challenge:

Naturally I have used my own Delicious Doodles images (no surprise there then!) I have had the main image 'Love's Faded Memory' drawn up for a few weeks - but I forgot to upload it to the shop!! I've put that right now, so it's available for any of you spooky peeps who are interested! LOL. I have also used another new image 'Webby Corner' which I have overlaid onto the main image in various sizes and in two colours.

I added a splash of colour to the rosebud which matches my colour scheme of Purple and Black (again, no surprise there!) and some stickles round the frame before layering onto purple core-dinations. This has been raised too for a bit of depth. My layout follows the sketch over at Creative Inspirations, sorry ladies if you were expecting something cute and fluffy, LOL!!

At The Pink Elephant this week the theme is to use 'Ribbon and Sparkle'. There is some ribbon behind the main image, some black and purple organza from the stash. I have also added as the third image my little 'BAT-erfly', coloured in with watercolour pencils, scanned and printed for layering. That's the handy thing with digi's - you can resize them to suit your project.

These digi's fit the challenge over at Stamp Something this week, as they require 'Digi's' this time. Yep, that's what I do!! And at Stamping for the Weekend there is an 'Anything Goes' theme, so I am entering here too. Another challenge I am entering this in is a new one on the block, Craft Your Days Away who's theme this week is 'Wings'. Again, sorry for the spooky theme ladies - my wings are on the BAT-erfly.

I was going to enter a couple of other challenges that had a butterfly theme, but I figured my Bat-erfly wouldn't quite fit in there, LOL. Never mind - I think I have enough to go on with here! tee-hee! See ya later peeps!

Vintage Waltz

Hiya folks!

What a let down after yesterday's gorgeous sunny start! Back to the wet stuff late in the afternoon, and the same since. Would be soooo nice to have a few good days in a row - might be able to get the lawn cut!!

My card for today then has been made with a few challenges in mind. I decided I wanted to use my 'Waltz' silhouette image to make a vintage style card with, as that is the theme at Creatalicious Challenges this time. 'Vintage' also turns out to be the new theme at Polka Doodles this week, so I am entering this there too.

I have followed the sketch from Midnight Madness for my layout.Wasn't too sure what to use for the 'gathered' bit at the side, then I remembered some old net curtain I had in the cupboard. So out it came and got itself cut up. Fiddly to stick or what?!! This stuff just doesn't want to do as it's told! You should see the mess of sticky bits behind the facade on this card!! Here is the sketch:

I was going to use a huge brooch for the card, but it was too heavy, so I had to resort to one of my trusty flowers instead! LOL. I have also used flowers for the corners - my 'Rose Corner' image coloured in a pale tan faded to white. I wanted the roses to look vintage. I think they work. The finished coloured version was scanned in and printed several times on an A4 sheet to get the layers. 'Flowers' are the theme over at Fab 'n' Funky this week, so I'm entering this here too.

My papers are digital and are from Funky Hand and Cupcake Designs. The flower is made with my usual punches. I have added stickles to the rose corners, the punched flower and round the oval frame too.

Okeedokee then. Need to go down the chemist now they're open and pick up some more skin cream. Still fighting the old Psoriasis, pain in the butt stuff and so sore! Anyone got any miracle cures?!! LOL. Honestly, I'm fed up with going around smelling like an old shed - this cream really mings!! See ya later folks!

The Sugar Bowl and First Birthday FREEBIE day 5

Hiya folks!

It's a lovely day here in NE Scotland (for a change) might get that washing out! LOL Isn't it amazing how a bit of sun can brighten up the way we feel?

My card for today is also full of cheer - it's another Christmas Card! This is my entry into The Sugar Bowl Challenge, who have a yummy sketch to follow, and an added (optional) requirement of 'Something Old, Something New'. Here is the sketch:

My 'something old' is the cardstock, some white linen-effect card I have had for a couple of years. It was part of a set of stuff I bought from Create & Craft. The 'something new' bit is the image itself. I bought this from Funky Kits a couple of weeks ago, and have only just got round to inking it up! (me bad!)

My dp's are from various places, all digital and manipulated by me to get the right shades for this project. Talking of shades, this is meant to be Aqua in colour to enter the challenge at Totally Gorjuss this week. Never quite sure of the difference between aqua and turquoise, but I think it's OK though.

I have added liberal amounts of glitter in the shape of some stickles in two colours. I bought these from my local craft store, which happens to be Papercrafts Boutique in Elgin (home of Sugar Nellie Stamps) - dead handy huh?! This fits the new challenge this week at MAWTT which is 'glitter'

This lovely little Christmas Manga stamp has been coloured with my usual watercolour pencils. I have cut round the image and raised her up on foam pads, along with the circle shape behind her, and the star shape behind that. You know me - I love my layers! I have also added some stickles to her hair and the baubles. Last addition was some gems in the corners - almost a perfect match, but a little too green I think. Whatever! It's the closest colour I had to match with.

OK, off to take advantage of the sun now then - washing out, then garden sorting I think, see you later folks!

I have also paper-pieced the gift box which is the theme at Allsorts this week. I put a little tartan bow with bell on at the top of the box. (yes the bell rings!). Tuesday Taggers - Boats/ FREEBIE BASH DAY 3

Hiya folks!

YEAY!! The kids are back at school - I get some peace and a break from yelling for a few hours!! LOL. D1 has now started in High School, she was so nervous this morning, bless. Looked lovely in her uniform though - thank goodness it's a black one! Love black as a uniform, looks so smart.

Onto my project today - which isn't a card (yet). It is my DT piece for Tuesday Taggers, where the theme this week is 'Boats/Water/Sea' related. Had to rack me brains for this one, as I don't own anything remotely like this, nor have I done any digi-stamps. BUT I remembered that deep in one of my many boxes of 'stuff' are some mounted prints I made of local scenery that I had sketched ages ago.

This one then is a sketch I made from an old photo of the harbour in Buckie. It's a couple of little fishing boats coming home in the evening (that's why it is so dark!) past the little lighthouse on the harbour wall.

It is only mounted in a plain cream coloured frame, as it was intended to folk to purchase and take home to frame for themselves. Needless to say that I still have 'a few' left in the box! LOL. I might just make this into a digi-image, as it is a vintage style thing. What do you think - any good for guy cards??

So, for some more (and better) inspiration, head over to the Tuesday Taggers Blog and see what yummies my DT sisters have come up with. See ya folks!

Sweet Pea Stampers - Swirls and Flourishes/FREEBIE BASH

Hiya folks!

I hope you all had a great weekend? I'm pleased to say the sun came out for us for a change - I even got rid of some weeds that were threatening to take over the garden!!

Time for a new challenge over at Sweet Pea Stampers, which this week is 'Swirls and Flourishes'. Here is what I made with this theme:

I have used papers from Papermania 'Henbury Lane' for this card, and I followed the sketch from Fussy and Fancy Friday for my layout. Just noticed I left off the sentiment, and put flowers there instead - bother, I knew things were going too well!!

The challenge at Fab 'n' Funky is to use your favourite colour - hard choice that, LOL. Of course it had to be purple! I coloured my image with the usual watercolour pencils, and have added liberal amounts of stickles!

My flowers are made using the usual punches with gems for the centres. The wee corner flourishes are vinyl stickers that I have had for ages but not used. I stuck them to some spare paper from the set I used and cut around them so I could use them with foam pads underneath.

There are two stamps as a prize this week - and don't forget to enter the 'August Entrants Candy' as well!!

As of September we will be changing our challenge day to a Friday, just to give all you weekend crafters more time to create! I hope you will be able to join us!

Free Spirit

Hiya folks!

Hope I find you all well this Saturday morning? Things have dried up a wee bit here in NE Scotland, although the sun is still MIA. My tumble dryer man came yesterday, sorted what the problem is, but didn't fix it. I have to wait until Tuesday to get it mended - can you believe that??!! So I struggle on. . .

My card today features one of my new images 'Free Spirit', available now in my Delicious Doodles Shop. I named her this, after the saying 'free as a bird' - there is a bird in the image. It's meant to be a Raven, but looks more like a crow! LOL. Whatever! You guys can colour it however you like anyways.
I have used a sketch from Friday Sketchers for my layout. Thought it was time I played there again after a few weeks of not doing so.

This also fits a few more challenges. Magical Monday's theme this week is 'Pink and White', at Pixie Dust their theme is also 'Pink', Flutterby Wednesday's theme is 'open + butterfly, fairy or angel', Crafty Creations theme is 'Winged Things', Craftalicious has a theme of 'Pearls and Swirls', and the SCSC challenge is 'Girly' this week.

My swirly papers are from Tinker & Co and Funky Hand. The swirly border is my own creation, in an art nouveau style to match the image. Ribbons, pearls, and stickles from the stash. Punches for the flower and leaves from local craft shop.

I'm really liking how these new 'Alfonse Mucha' style images are turning out. I have used his paintings as a starting point to base my image on, with added elements of my own, like fairy wings for example. So be warned - you may be seeing more of these in the future!! LOL

OK then, my DT work beckons - see ya later peeps - have a great weekend!

Oh and don't forget my FREEBIE bash all this coming week

See you there folks!!
