Pink Tulips

Hiya folks!

It's a lovely bright and crisp day here in North East Scotland. We didn't get ANY of the predicted snow overnight on Tuesday or yesterday, phew! Monday was a damp squib, sleet all bloomin' day! Trouble is, my back gate (old door) was soaked from all that sleet, and it froze solid! I had to go round the front and kick it open to get my bins out for collection. Was half expecting it to all collapse as it is sooooo old, but no, still standing for the moment! LOL

Right then, today I am showcasing another new image of mine, shortly to be loaded onto my blog shop, Delicious Doodles. I used the yummy sketch at Midnight Madness for my layout. They have a choice again this week, but I chose to mix it up a bit, as my image kinda blanked out some of the elements of the original sketch:

And this is the card, with the new image - Tulips. I coloured them in a cerise-pink colour - love that colour in flowers! I layered them with foam pads for depth. Now, the sketch also called for some stitching. Ah, yes, problem there, as my machine is stuffed in the cupboard, unused and unloved - not even sure if it would sew through card. . . So I opted for the faux version, computer generated of course!

My papers here are all from Funky Hand, their newest cd named 'Dreams Come True'. Sorry, but I tweeked the paper colours again to suit my colour scheme - hope you don't mind. . .? I am entering this into their challenge 'Get Funky' - my second entry - must be keen! LOL

The cardstock is a lovely linen effect white card, lovely and thick so it doesn't bend - I made this an A5 size, so it is quite big. I find big cards tend to sag in the middle if the cardstock is too thin. I have made this into a Mother's Day card, as it is pretty girlie, but in a mature kind of way!

The little butterfly in the corner is a vellum one, from an old kit by Kameo Cards, and the tiny swirls are florists ribbon strips that I have run scissors down to make swirly (like we used to do at school many moons ago!)

Now, this also happens to fit a few more challenges, so here goes with a wee list:

Bee Crafty - Stitching plus a digi-image
Cute Daisy May - Bright and Cheerful
Sophisticats - Stitching
Crafty Creations - Stitching
A Spoon Full of Sugar - Spring
