Love You. . .

Hiya folks!

Just as I thought winter was about done with us - it came back again! Woke up to find a couple of centimetres lying about. Nothing to speak of, but nature is just reminding us that it isn't done yet.

My card today is full of the joys of Spring though. I came across a new challenge site, so thought I'd give it a go. It is the Fred She Said Challenge Blog which has it's first challenge up now, and the chance of winning a freebie on 1st Feb - so get in and become a follower quick!!

For the layout of this card, I followed the sketch from Sunday Sketch and Stamp - hope I'm in time for this one!

At Polka Doodles this week, they want to see Valentine's, but in a non-traditional way or colour scheme. Well, no hearts here, and no red or pink either!!

For the Fred She Said challenge, they want us to design a project that is inspired by their blog banner, which by the way is really scrummy. Love those purples! So I went trawling through their designs yesterday and bought a set that I have used here for this card. I also downloaded a couple of their freebies too and added a yellow flower to my design here.

I cut out loads of flowers and a few leaves, and made them 3 dimensional by curling the petals up. I have added some ink to the yellow ones, and some stickles here and there for some bling. The ribbon is an organza one from my stash.

Right, I'd better get this one entered before the sketch challenge closes!!

PS - don't forget our first blog hop tomorrow at Winter Wonderland!! See you there (I hope)!!

St. David's Day Daffs

Hiya folks!

Hoorah - it's Friday! Not that it means much to me as I don't have a job besides raising the family, looking after the house and garden and other general 'home-maker' duties. Just means I get a small lie-in on Saturday and Sunday as there is no school - yeay!

So, how are things with you today? Glad you could drop by and spare me a few minutes of your precious time. I really do appreciate all your visits and the love you leave behind - means a lot to me you know. I don't get out much to speak to many folk other than the kids, or maybe the odd person who says hello in the village as I go to the post office. That's the trouble when you move somewhere new and there are no family or friends to help babysit - no social life! Well, I say 'new', we have been here for eight years now! Phew - where have those years gone??!!

Anyway, enough whining from me, and on to the card for today! This is a (hopefully) sunny and cheerful card that I have made for St. David's Day, on 1st March, which happens to fit a few challenges too - how convenient!

The layout follows the sketch at Papertake Weekly, which is a nice and simple one to follow:

At Stamp, Scrap and Doodle Saturday the theme is 'Spring' - just in time with this one I hope. . .

Then at Saturday Spotlight with Hidden Potential the theme is 'sun' or yellow. Not sure if this will fit there really as I think they are after a monotone yellow, and I have greens here too. Well, no harm in trying eh?

The Daffodil image is my own, available for purchase at my blog shop, Delicious Doodles. I coloured this with the usual watercolour pemcils, and layered with foam pads. The papers are Tinker & Co, and the cardstock is a lovely pearlescent yellow one I found at my local craft shop in Elgin.

Valentine Roses

Yeah I know - they come like buses!

Yet another posting for me today - I've been a busy little bee this week. Got my DT cards done and ready, got a few challenge cards done and I also have a Wedding order on. Sorry kids - no tea! (joking!)

This card was a lovely project to make. I spent some pennies yesterday on a site named D.A.I.S.I.E. and bought a few digi-sets from them. I had a play with what I got, and this is the result!

The layout is from the lovely ladies at Midnight Madness - gorgeous sketches, and now you get to choose between a simple one and a more challenging one. I chose to use the latter. Well, that is what challenges are about aren't they??

This also fits a few other challenges, funnily enough! LOL. At A Spoon Full Of Sugar, the theme is 'Freestyle'. Anything goes - yeay! At Cute Daisy May the theme is 'Vintage' and at Cute Card Thursday the theme is 'Flowers'.

Like I said, the images and papers came from digi-sets at D.A.I.S.I.E., by Gina Jane. One is named 'Cottage Roses' and is a shabby vintage style, the other is named 'L'Amore', and is a lovely set of papers and images around the theme of Love. Fortunately for me both sets seem to match each other perfectly. I printed out all the elements onto ordinary card, and spent last night cutting all the little bits out ready for making up today.

Last thing I did after making it up and layering with loads of foam pads, was to add some stickles, some gold and some pink here and there. Then I put some silver metallic rub-on round the edges of the base card and the circle frame bit.

Right, I think that will do for today - LOL. Time to start printing all the Wedding Invites, RSVP's and Place Settings. Luckily for me, their theme is Black and White, so no colour matching to worry about - yeay! I like things to be simple. . . Might even show you when I'm done. . .

A Chinese New Year Card

Hi again folks.

Second post today - scroll down to pick up your award!!

OK then, my card for today has been made with Chinese New Year in mind. According to the Diary I bought, it is on 14th February this year, and happens to be the year of the Tiger. Not that I have any Chinese friends that I can send it to, I am just getting into the Oriental thing at the moment that's all. Never done Oriental much before, but I might just get into it a bit more!!

For the layout of this card I followed the sketch from ICS this week:

OK, so I added an extra in the shape of my fan image, which I have yet to load up to my digi shop, Delicious Doodles. You can still see the sketch though, so I hope it will be allowed. . .!

Next up, is a new challenge for me, Totally Gorjuss. They want to see 'dimension' in the projects this week, along with something 'gorgeous' on the card. I just love the gold card I used as layering, it is a cracked ice pattern and it is foiled too. I added some gold embossing powder to the edges of the lovely red patterned paper and set it with a heat gun.

That just adds a bit of sparkle to the card, which brings me to the next challenge at Pixie Dust Studio, where they want 'glitter and sparkle'. Hope there is enough of it for you ladies!

My main image is a Chinese Dragon, one of my own digi-images available for purchase from Delicious Doodles. This I layered onto the gold card, and then onto some black card that I had added gold metallic rub-on to. I layered this with foam pads for dimension, and then fixed that to the base card also using foam pads. All of my colouring was done using watercolour pencils.

A Sweet Award For ALL OF YOU

Hiya folks!

How are you all keeping?? My youngest D is back at School today after a couple of days of aches, pains and a raised temp. Who knows what that was all about . . .? Eldest D is still under the weather with a runny nose, sore throat and headache - booooo!

Right, onto business, which this morning is a really sweet award. I have had this now from three lovely ladies, so I thought I ought to sort it. These lovely ladies are: Micki, Joey and Fiona - thanks ladies, you really are sooooo sweet!!

The rules of the award say that I have to:
1) Copy and Paste the award on your blog. (yep)
2) List who gave you the award and link to her blog. (yep)
3) List 10 things that make you happy. (see below)
4) Pass the award onto other bloggers and visit their blog to let them know! (see below also)
Hmn. . . here goes then:

I am thankful -

1: To be ALIVE!!

2: To be in control of all my faculties

3: To nature for providing such a wonderful place to exist

4: To my parents for just being there

5: For being blessed with a loving husband and sole mate

6: For having three healthy and happy (?sometimes?) children

7: That I don't work as I can spend all my time crafting! (selfish me!)

8: That I have a bit of talent to be able to draw

9: That I can use said talent to make others happy

10: For all the lovely friends I have met in Blogland (- pass me the sick bucket!)

Now to pass this on to some other sweet friends and leave them a comment to come and get it. I think I may chicken out here, as I want to pass it on to each and every one of you, for being such a lovely and caring bunch of people. So, as the song goes: 'If you want it, here it is, come and get it!'

My Cherry Pie

Hi again!

This is my second post today, please scroll down for Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

My fourth offering for MyGrafico already - where has this month gone to?? This week we are using this set 'Love Grows Here' by Lyndsay's Stamp Stuff which you could win:

Cute huh? Here is the sketch we worked with too, designed by the lovely Mary:

And this is my take:

The Heart papers are also from the MyGrafico store, by Cupcake Cutiees (appropriately enough!) I made them into greyscale so I could recolour to whatever I wanted, which happened to be red. The spotty paper is by Funky Hand.

I used plain card for the image backing. The Cake and the Chrries have been coloured using my watercolour pencils, and I layered up with foam pads. Last thing I did was ink the card edges.

Right, head over to the MyGrafico Challenge Blog and take a nosey round our lovely DT creations for some extra inspiration, and have a go!!

I am also entering this into the challenge at Pixie Cottage which is for 'Red and Pink'.

Little Cutie

Hiya folks!

Glad you could join me on this miserable, wet and dark day here in North East Scotland. It is Wednesday again, so time for another of Arlana's gorgeous sketches at Sweet Sketch Wednesday:

This week we are sponsored by the fabulous Mo at Digital Pencil Too - how cool is that then? We got to play with some images, and I had one of the new 'I Love It' images, a cute little girl with new Teddy - sweet!!

Must admit I found it a difficult image to colour with my watercolour pencils, what with the fiddly flower pattern on the dress. Really had to sharpen to a point for this one!! LOL. Hope I did it justice though.

Just had to complement it with some girly pinkness on the card. The papers I used are from Funky Hand, the Baby Paper and Tag Collection - a digital download.

So, off you go to Sweet Sketch Wednesday, take a look at the rest of the DT's yummy creations, and have a go peeps! You might just win the voucher to spend with Mo!

How Puzzling

Hi folks,

Welcome to my little world here on blogland. Hope you are all well today. Looks like my day is to be filled with fun (NOT). Both of my girls are off school today, one with the start of a head cold - sore throat, earache, headache, feeling bleaugh. The other one is full of aches and pains, feels a bit hot, and is still asleep!! Oh the joys. . .

So, while they are still quiet, I am jumping on here to do my Tuesday Tagger DT post. This week was a huge challenge for me, I just didn't know where to start with this one. Our theme was to use 'jigsaws' somewhere on the project. EEEeekk! All my jigsaw pieces are still in their sets, and the kids would kill me if I went and stole a few bits, but luckily one of my fabby team-mates, Avril Ann, sent me a few spare bits from a puzzle she had. Thank you hun!! I owe you one. Thing is, these bits were really rather large, so I was still a bit lost on the mojo front.

(Just realised, I can enter this into the challenge at Raise The Bar, as they want to see things that have been 'gifted' to us - I think this puzzle piece qualifies for that!)

When I was laying in bed one night trying to will myself to sleep, I had a flash of inspiration. Not a huge one mind, but enough to get the job done, and this is what I came up with:

I cut some of the round bits off the puzzle piece and made it into a corner piece, and covered it all over with daubs of ink. Then I got a heart shape and put that on it, and carried on daubing with various colours, red, orange, darker red, until I had that heart shape in relief. I spotted some dimension paint in gold around the edge of that little heart, and then did the same round the whole piece in red and waited for it to dry.

Whilst I waited I made the card by printing out the words on a pale tinted background, on top of a patterned paper. I came up with that quote myself - not sure if anyone else had 'coined it' before me, so apologies if anyone has already.

Last thing to do once dry, was to put the puzzle piece on the card and dot a few embellies on. Must say I am pretty pleased with the outcome - but it did give me a few headaches to start with. Glad that one is over!! You must nip across to Tuesday Taggers and see what the rest of my DT sisters have created - WOW, such a variety!

Oh, and don't forget our DT Call.

You have until 1st February to get in touch with us using the Tuesday Taggers email on the blog
Good luck folks!!

Hamish McHaggis

Hiya folks,

Just got time to slip in a fun card before I rush off to get the tea. I posted earlier some new images at Delicious Doodles, including this image of Hamish McHaggis.

As it is Robbie Burns' Birthday we here in Scotland are celebrating Burns' Night and eating loads of Haggis - an aquired taste I must add. Being an English 'sassanac' I thought myself and the family had better try fitting in by consuming the native delicacy. My youngest Hazel, is in fact a Scot, as she was born here!

So, I knocked up this quick card this afternoon to celebrate the occasion. It does happen to fit a few challenges too! The layout came from a sketch over at Polka Doodles. I turned it sideways to fit the image better.

The colour theme is from The Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge, and has an 'inspirational photo':

All the papers are versions of plaid or tartan that I had on the compy anyway. Can't remember where from originally, I think I may have scanned them in myself a while back. I converted the colour version into a black and white greyscale in photoshop, and then made it the colour I wanted when I dropped it into my page-makeup programme.

The image is coloured with watercolour pencils and layered with foam pads. Last thing I did was add a couple of tartan bows, a wee one to Hamish, and a bigger one at the top. Must admit, Hamish does look a bit like a turd!!!! Eeeeaauuuuuww!! Ah well, never mind. It was supposed to be a bit of fun after all. . .!!

New Doodles Time

Hi again folks!

About time I added a few new doodles to my shop,

Hope you like these:

Water Lily:

Chinese Dragon:

and just for fun as it is Burn's Night tonight, Hamish McHaggis:

Rosie Dee's Sponsor!!

Hi all,

Hope you survived the weekend without any nasties?? Just for a change the sun is out here today, doesn't it make people happy to see the sun when it has been grey for sooooo long!! Yeay!

I have a bit of news for you - this fortnight I am sponsoring the challenge over at Rosie Dee's with my little Blog Shop of digi-images, Delicious Doodles!! I gave the DT three of my Valentine images to play with, and BOY did they work some wonders!!! FABULOUS CREATIONS LADIES!! I am well impressed!! One lucky winner will get all three of the designs they used to make their cards, so go ahead and play along - they'll be glad to see you there!

So, I just had to make a card to play along with them. Yeah, I know it doesn't follow the sketch provided, but I wasn't privvi to that at the time, never mind eh?? And here it is:

I used some deep red deckled edged cardstock for the base, and printed out a square with words on and spots round the edge. The central hearts image is from Funky Hand. Then I used my Heart design and printed it fairly large with the wording typed on before-hand. This I coloured with my usual watercolour pencils, and I also layered the little rose with foam pads.

I stuck a gorgeous fluffly black feather behind it for a bit of drama, and popped some little puffy hearts in the corners - voila! Job done!
I am selling a few of these on my ebay shop, so we'll see how they go on there. . .

Sketchy, Sketchy

Hi all,

How are you doing this weekend - hope things are brighter where you are. STILL raining here in North East Scotland! Ah well, more crafting time for me then!

My card today is my offering for the DT at Winter Wonderland and today we have a lovely sketchy drawn by our very own Pascale - way to go hun!!

This week also sees the debut of two new DT sisters, I do hope you will pay the a visit to welcome them on board! Now for some news:

*** Mark your calendars for 31st January ***

We are having our very first Blog Hop at Winter Wonderland, to say a big Thank You to everyone for supporting us last year, with some scrummy prizes up for grabs!! We'd love you to come join us!

Now, on to my card. I used one of my own images here, Santa with Gift, coloured with watercolour pencils. He is available for purchase at Delicious Doodles, my Blog Shop.

The papers are from Tinker & Co, the sentiment is computer generated. The flower is my own Poinsettia image printed out several times, coloured with watercolour pencils and scored in the centre of each petal to get the 3D effect. The holly leaves are punched shapes using spare bits from my bits box.

I cut the oval shape with one of my oval nesties and inked the edges. Santa was done twice so I could layer him a bit. He is quite small here, so I didn't do too much layering. Last thing to add was the wee gold peel-off corner. Must invest in some decent corner shape dies!!

So, now you get to play with Pascale's sketchy. We'd love to see what you guys come up with! Head over to Winter Wonderland for some more yummy inspiration from my DT sisters there. And don't forget to join us next week for the Blog Hop!

Here Puss. . . !

Hiya Folks.

Hope your Saturday is less wet and dreary than our is here in North East Scotland. Doesn't fill you with inspiration waking up to the sight and sound of steady rain that isn't going anywhere all day! BUT we must plough on. . .

This card today was made for a couple of challenges. I have just finished drawing up this image and needed a layout to showcase it, and one just happened to turn up at Friday Sketchers this week:

The Tiger is a new sketch image literally finished on Friday, so I need to load it up on my blog shop Delicious Doodles. I will do it very soon, as I am finishing another image this weekend and want to put them on together. I printed this one out on some thick glossy card for extra definition, would have been too fuzzy on my regular cardstock.

The background is actually from a Zebra stripe pattern, which I erased some of in photoshop to give a graduated feel in the centre. The two stripey blocks behind the image are actual Tiger stripe patterns that I printed in black and white rather than colour. I have inked round the edges of these, and the cardstock.

The flowers are made using extra stripey patterned card and silver mirri card, and I used my punches to cut them out. This fits into the challenge at Simon Says Stamp this week, which is to 'Use Punches'.

You know what? I have just realised that I forgot to put in the four corner bits and the dots on the oval from the sketch!! DOH! Ah, well. I'm not changing it now - can't be bothered to take more photos, the light is so pathetic here today. I have had the light on in the room all day so far, hate working in the dark!!

Little Love U Bug

Hiya folks!

Almost the weekend - how y'all coping?? Glad you could make it to my little space in cyberworld.

My card today has been made with four challenges in mind, so I'll get straight down to it. First up is the layout, and I followed a sketch from Digital Tuesday for this one. Lovely and simple this sketch, right up my street!! Don't forget you need a digi-image for this challenge, no problem for me, as I design my own!

Next up is the colour which is the challenge at C.R.A.F.T. this week, 'RED'. I know, I know, there is black, white and a bit of yellow in mine, but I needed something to contrast with the red!! Black and Red are one of my many favourite colour combo's (the list keeps on growing), which brings me onto the challenge at Bee Crafty this week: 'Favourite Colour Combo's', plus a digi-image required.

Last but not least is the challenge at Crafty Creations, whose theme this week is 'Valentine or Love'. My little Ladybird just fits the bill there. The image is named 'LoveUBug' and is available for purchase in my blog shop, Delicious Doodles.

I printed it out a few times, then coloured with watercolour pencils and layered with foam pads. The spotty background (Funky Hand - Salt and Pepper) is printed onto red cardstock, as was the border (MyGrafico - Art Deco Borders) across the centre. The heart paper on the left (MyGrafico - Valentine Damask Overlays) is printed in red on white card, and I have added some ink round the edges. The three black brads are from the stash, and the sentiment is computer generated.

OK then, lunchtime is approaching, and I need to do some dreaded HW - ta-ta for now folks!

Little Geisha Girl

Hiya folks!

I do hope things are fine with you all today. I am feeling sooo much better than a couple of days ago, thank you all for your good wishes and kind words. I am putting the whole episode down to the IBS that I have the displeasure of knowing. I blame my parents, they both have it now, although only recently discovered they have it. Just like parents to pass on these things as well as their genes eh?? LOL

So, my card today is a bit later than I would have liked, as I had a 'Needs Assessment Meeting' this morning. Myself and a few others are currently forming an Allotment Society where we live, and muggins here was elected Secretary - ugh! Don't know a thing about that line of work, so it's interesting to say the least! Another meeting tonight - this time for the Committee. Constitutions to draw and sign, technical blurb etc, etc. Who would have though you would need all that s**t just to dig!! - whatever!

On to better things then, (I hope) my card today was made following the layout at Midnight Madness. Bit different there today, as they have thrown in a simpler version of the same sketch for those who do simple, and they also have a sneak peak of the new sketch on a Friday now too. This is the one that is not simplified:

I am entering this into A Spoon Full Of Sugar, as they want to see loads of 'Layering'. It is also going into The Get Funky Challenge, which this month is to include 'Spots and Stripes'.

I was lucky enough to be their winner last month - yeay me! And with the winnings I bought their new disc 'Dreams Come True'. Some gorgeous backing papers, and some new digi-images too, and editable word books!! How cool is that then?

So I have used some of those new papers here on this card. The image is my own Geisha Girl, available for purchase in my blog shop Delicious Doodles. I coloured this one by scanning in some japanese paper, and dropping it behind the image for the dress. I did the same thing for the fan by scanning in a small design from somewhere.

Then I had to delete all the bits round the outside of the image before dropping in the head and hands. Lots of fiddly stuff there, but worth it in the end! I then printed out a few times and layered with the usual foam pads. Just to finish it off, I put a fan in the corner, which also complies with the sketch. The strip at the bottom is in fact paper not ribbon, taken from the same piece as behind the image.

Right then. Might try a cup of coffee now then. Tummy still isn't back to 100 per cent normality, but it's getting there!!

A Damask Valentine

Hi again folks.

Second post today, please scroll down for Sweet Sketch Wednesday posting.

Time then for another yummy sketch, at the MyGrafico Challenge:

This week we had some gorgeous Damask digi papers to work with from Pixels and Ice Cream.
I really love a good Damask, so classy and elegant. . . Here is what I did with the sketch and the papers:

I made a tint for the backing cardstock from one of the papers, then used the other in full colour for the main feature. The sentiment is printed on the cardstock too at the same time as printing the backing. I added some ink round the edges of the cardstock and the feature paper.

The border across the card was a purchase I made a while back, also from the MyGrafico shop from Mujka Designs.

The heart image is one of my own digi-images, made for Valentine's Day or Love themed creations. This is available at my blog shop, Delicious Doodles. I printed it out a few times, coloured with the usual watercolour pencils, then layered with foam pads for extra depth. The ribbon is from my stash.

Just The Two Of Us. . .

Hiya folks!

Thank you all for your kind words and best wishes yesterday, you are all fabulous blogging buddies!! I feel so much better today - yeay!

Good job I had this card made already though, or it wouldn't have got done! It is my DT creation for Sweet Sketch Wednesday, which is sponsored by Sally Ann at The Digi Stamp Boutique. She has some lovely new images available, and I chose to use part of a cute set of Turtles, Myrtle and Shelley.

Here is the sketch we worked with:

I used digital papers from a lovely word-book set by Funky Hand, named 'I Do'. The ribbon is from my stash. I coloured the Turtle with watercolour pencils, and layered with my foam pads. The sentiment is computer generated too.

Such a lovely sketch to work with this week - I do hope you can find the time to play along with us at Sweet Sketch Wednesday - you may even be lucky and win our prize this week!! Go on, have a go!!

Mega Candy - Let's Try Again!!

Hiya folks.

Had to get out of my sick bed to go fetch the little one from school, so when we got home I thought - let's do that draw again while I am up!

So, without further ado - another drumroll please!

The winner of the second draw for my Mega New Year Candy is:

Lilac Anglia!! Yeay - well done hun!

If you would care to get in touch with your postal details, I'll get the goodies off to you ASAP!!

Many thanks again to all who took part in my candy draw, and well done everyone for taking my followers well over the expected 100 mark - thanks guys. much appreciated!! I hope you find my wee blog interesting enough to stay around and not disappear into thin air!! LOL

Recycled Xmas

Hiya folks!

Sorry I am late with this post, but I spent most of the night with my head down the loo being rather poorly, and have only just decided to surface temporarily to make this post. Feeling OK now, sort of, but just really dizzy and bleaugh (is that a word??)

My card today is for my DT offering at Tuesday Taggers, and has been set by the lovely Lyn aka Blackdragon. She is one tough cookie, and wants us to use our leftover Christmas stuff, but in a non-christmassy way - eeeekkk!!

So, I got the leftover wrapping paper out and covered a cardstock base with it, and punched out some flowers with the same paper. Then I rummaged round in the decorations box, (which is still waiting to go back in the loft - men!!) where I found a gift dec that hadn't been used. This resembles a flower and is so lovely I just had to use it! Then I generated the sentiment on the old compy, and it just fell together from there!

Some news - we are having a DT Call at Tuesday Taggers, which closes on 1st February, so if you fancy your chance at being on a really relaxed DT, then pop over to Tuesday Taggers for all the deets! Good Luck all!

Mega New Year Candy Winner - again!

Hi folks,
Marianne has been in touch with me about her winning the candy, and has said (bless her) that sha has had such a lucky run lately with candies, and that I was to pick another winner!! How generous is that folks??
So I will draw it later when my little 'Magic Hands' are home from school, and let you know who the second lucky winner is!!
Thanks Marianne, you are one lovely lady!!
Hugs to all,
Teri xx

New Year Mega Candy!!

Hiya folks!

As promised I am here with some Mega Candy for you to celebrate the new decade (or is it? Some conjecture there. . .)

I am hoping this will stay at the top until the Candy ends on 18th January 2010.
Please scroll down for more recent postings - thanks!

I have had a humungous rummage and have loads to offer up for my Candy - too much to mention in the form of a list. There are loads of stickers, some are 3d ones, some oriental ladies, a small die-cut oriental card kit by Create + Craft, charms, stamps, ribbon, embellishments. . .

You will recieve everything in these photos!!

All I want from you to qualify for this Candy, is for you to post about it on your blog or sidebar, and link it back to me so I can come see!
If you want to become a follower then I will be very grateful, but it isn't a requirement. However it would be fantastic if I could get to the 100 mark by the end of the Candy.

Closing date: 18th January 2010 at mid-day UK-GMT - plenty of time, and also just in time for Valentines Day and Chinese New Year!!

Good Luck Everyone!!

Dreaming of Spring. . .

Hiya folks!

Hope your weekend went well?? Glad you could join me in my little space on cyberland!

My card for today is the second of my creations for the GDT spot at Sophisticats, and again I got to choose the theme. This week I went for Spring. Can't wait for it to arrive now. . .

In anticipation of the longer days and gorgeous flowers that pop up, I designed a new image especially for this theme. These Daffodils are available now in my blog shop Delicious Doodles, along with some Crocus that I showcased the other day.

The layout for my card follows one from a week or so ago that I used for another card, I think it came from Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge. The papers are from Tinker & Co, which I inked round the edges of. I made the flowers in the top left corner using scraps and some flower punches, and cut some leaf shapes from green bazzill. The images is coloured with my watercolour pencils (blended with water and brush for those who asked) and layered with foam pads for dimension. I do like a bit of dimension, you may have noticed! LOL. The sentiment is computer generated.

So, let's see your Spring creations at Sophisticats this week, and you may be in line for a surprise if you win!! Good luck all. . .

I just want to add that I am very grateful to Sophisticats for offering me the opportunity to work alongside their DT these past two weeks - thanks guys - it's been such fun! Hope I didn't work you too hard with my choice of themes!!

A Chilli Note. . .

Hiya folks!

Hope the weekend goes well for you so far? Glad you can join me here in my little corner.

My creation for today is a Notecard set which I have made as part of the DT at Winter Wonderland. Our theme this week is the colour combo 'Burgundy and Teal'. You can interpret these colours however yo like, as Teal is one of those funny colours you can never quite get a match with. Mine looks rather blue here, but it is more of a turquoise really.

The image and backing paper are from a digital set by Tinker & Co named 'Merry Fishmas'.

Being digital I don't have to do any colouring, as the image came in colour anyway. I just printed several sheets of the backing paper and cut to size for the cards. I also used some burgundy card from my stash, which has been there for about two years - eeekkk!!! Must use up more of it really, my dining room resembles a bomb-site!!

I also made matching envelopes using my page-makeup programme, and did the same with the box.

I had to use a template, which I found on the internet. Just a case of printing that to the right size and centering it over the finished and printed items I wanted to cut out. Bit fiddly, but there you go. It'll have to do until I figure out an easier way of doing it!

So now we want to see your lovely creations using Burgundy and Teal. Head over to Winter Wonderland and see what the rest of my DT sisters have created there!!

Oh, and mark your calendars for the 31st January, as we are having our first Blog Hop!! Yeay - should be fun, with loads of giveaways to boot!!
