Cute Little Flopsy

Winter Wonderland - Setting The Table

Boy, these weeks are sure passing us by aren't they? I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that entered last week's challenge at Winter Wonderland. I really enjoyed nosing around all your blogs. I hope you get round to playing again this week.
We have a different theme this week, to make a Place Card, or a Napkin Ring, or to Stamp a Serviette. Well, sorry, but I don't do rubber stamps, so I couldn't join in with the Serviette bit.
So I have contented myself with the Napkin Ring and Place Card instead.
I wanted a cute Polar Bear for my design this week, so I drew one and made it a digital image and now I get to use it whenever I want!

Polka Doodles Challenge

Guest Designer at Digital Delights!!
I made the Guest Designer Spot at Digital Delights by Louby Lou!! As part of winning that spot I got to choose three of their lovely images to work with, and the option to use any to make them a card. Well, not one to do things lightly, I decided to use all the images I chose and promptly set about making THREE cards!!
This was the first I made using Blast Off Billy. The paper was a freebie I found somewhere, can't remember where exactly. I made the moon shape myself and got the dauber out for the shading. The rocket is coloured with watercolour pencils and layered for extra dimension.
This next card was using the Farm Girl Maggie image. What a cutie! I used papers from Tinker & Co. which are all digital, so dead easy to print out. As usual I coloured with watercolour pencils, and layered up. I finished it off with some lovely organza ribbon and a bow.
Last, but not least I made this card with Surprise Ridley the Racoon. Isn't he just sooo sweet?!
I am using this card to enter a couple of challenges too. First I followed a sketch for this one from Friday Sketchers, and also used the colours in the Secret Crafters Saturday challenge which was turquoise and brown. The papers again are Tinker & Co., the leafy bits are punched shapes, as are the flowers which are layered up and inked on the petals. A tiny gem is placed in their centre, just for a bit of bling!
I just want to say a HUGE thank you to the ladies at Digital Delights for choosing me this week. It has been a priviledge using your digi-images on my cards. Hope to see you next time in your next challenge. . .

Elegant Kitty Card

The Kitty is another of my own images, coloured with Watercolour pencils (in purple!), and layered with foam pads. The flowers I got from my local Craft Shop, along with the tiny purple brads to the side (which I have added a touch of gold to). The twirly stuff was made with thin strips of lilac paper, and the gold twirls were made with a cuttlebug embossing folder and gold card, then cut into bits round the swirls (fiddly or what!)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - 12
This week we are onto sketch #12. It is a colour challenge too, so without further adoo here is the sketch:

I used my favourite digital kits from Tinker & Co for this card. The girls are from the kit 'Forever Friends' and the papers are from 'Summer Breeze'. The brads I have had lying about for ages, and I think are Dovecraft or some such.
Now, get yourself over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for some extra lovely DT inspiration, have a go and get some mates playing too! The more, the merrier!!
Tuesday Taggers - Decorated Jar
This week the challenge is sponsored by The Craft Barn, so please make sure you make a link to their website within your entry this week to qualify for the prize. Check them out here they are a brilliant place to shop and are offering a prize of £15 to spend with them for the lucky randomly picked winner this week!!
We have a tutorial as well, showing an example of how you could decorate a jar/bottle.
I had great fun making this for the DT. I was at a loss to start with, wondering what I could do besides the usual Olive Oil bottle, or perfume set. Then I remembered a friend I had a while back when I used to run a pub with the hubby.
Back in the good old days that was, a lot of moons ago now. She was a Goth and was into a lot of wierd stuff, but she really went overboard with Halloween. Mind you, so did we at the pub. Made a big party out of it. BUT I digress, she made a jar of pickled people for the bar, which I thought was very nice of her. At the time I also thought 'Ok, what are we supposed to do with that?'

Delightful Sketch - Boo!

Right, off now to finish making those DT cards I was on about. . .

Saskia Has Blog Candy!
Beautiful Blogger Award

2. Fellow team-mate at Tuesday Taggers - Janet at Welcome to This and That
Winter Wonderland - By Candlelight
As all my candles for Christmas are in the loft, and I don't do rubber stamps, I decided to make a paper candle, but how to present it??
I had a mooch round google images, and saw some very fiddley Lantern Boxes, which obviously you would have to buy templates for. Now, I'm a bit skint at the moment, don't know about you guys, so I opted to faff about for ages making my own without a template, BOY did THAT get complicated! - Almost lost the will to live there for a minute!
But it came together in the end. I used gold glitter card for the Lantern, with Acetate for the windows, then decorated it with Pebeo Touch dimensional paint dotted round the edges. At the top I put a peel-off corner. The Poinsettia flowers are Quickutz Die shapes with extra punched shapes in the middle. The holly was also a Quickutz shape, and the dainty leaves is a punch I got from my local Craft Shop.
Here is a close up:
The candle itself is a strip of paper bent into a semi circle with some little half circles for the top and bottom stuck on with tabs. Then I cut some coloured card for the flame effect.
So, now it's your turn. Hop on over to Winter Wonderland and have a nose round all the DT's blogs - loads of inspiration there. Have a go yourself and help your stash of Christmas cards grow bigger!

Feel free to head on over and have a mooch round. It's still a bit new, so not perfect yet (not that it ever will be - LOL)

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - 11
Time for another sketchy over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, week number 11 already!
Here is the sketch:
I departed from my usual digital stamp images this week and opted for a photograph. The flowers are from my own garden, taken in the Spring of this year, some Drumstick Primulas. Lovely when they are flowering, but a bloody leafy eyesore the rest of the year!!
The Butterflies were made with some Shapeabilities dies, and then coloured with ink daubers through the die like a stencil.
Hop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and take a look at the fabby DT's inspiration. They really are lovely ladies, be sure to check out their blogs too. Go on, why don't you have a go too! You know you want to. . .
We are still on the look-out for sponsors so we can get prizes organised for our challenges, so if anyone knows any willing sponsors, please let Arlana know by popping across to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the email details.

New Digi Seller On The Block!!
I have just started a new blog to sell my digi-images on!
I have named it Delicious Doodles - took me three days to come up with that one!!
There is only one image there at the moment, my little Kitty, featured on a previous posting. I can't seem to get the 'Add to Cart' button to work properly, so each item for the time being will have to be the 'Buy Now' one. Pain in the bum really, it's taken the best part of the afternoon to sort out the little bit that is working.
GOD I need a glass of wine!
It isn't an automatic download either, sorry about that, but pennies don't allow it just yet. I will be emailing a Jpeg image myself, that way I know I have sent it, plus I get to leave little messages with it!! (Nice ones, not nasty) - LOL!
Crafty Creations - Polka Doodles - Bee Crafty

I used a template that I downloaded from the Time for Crafting website which has loads of PDF's for download, and tutorials too. When I had the base cut out I trimmed the printed template down to use as extra templates for the panels inside and out. The fowers were made using my trusty old punches with added inking and gems to finish.

Digital Tuesday - Rosie Dee, Beach
I am having a real boring day today. The weather is naff, so dark it was hard to take photos of my DT stuff that I did today. Totally Un-inspiring!!
BUT, despite the lack of mojo, I made a real effort and got it done.
I also managed to combine a couple of challenges with this card, so I am pleased with myself against the odds (mm, a song comes to mind. . .)
Waffling now. On to the challenges!
First I took the sketch at Digital Tuesday Challenge, which also requires you to use a digital image. Well, as you probably know by now, that's pretty much up my street. I used papers and image from a CD by Tinker & Co. called Toffee Bear all dressed up. I also turned the sketch upside down for this one, just to be different.
The theme at Rosie Dee's Challenge this month is Holidays, and for this week they have chosen 'Beach'. Well, I did a beach scene last week, so decided to go off at a tangent with this one. It is kinda beachy, what with the colours. I think a surfer is sort of beach themed, isn't it?
