Tuesday Taggers - Buttons and Bows

And so, another week flies by. . .never mind, soon be Christmas!!!!!!

To this week's theme at Tuesday Taggers, which is 'Buttons and Bows'. This week we have a prize on offer, which is sponsored by the Craft Emporium.
I decided to do a wee tag this week, featuring little Bobby Bear - now available on my sister blog.

Papers were from an Artylicious Christmas disc, just LOOOOVED that purple colour. Ribbon and buttons from the local craft shop near where I live. I used a Sizzix die for the scalloped shaped tag, and put a glittered one behind it for extra ooomph.

Little Bobby Bear has been coloured with watercolour pencils, before being cut out and layered up with foam pads.

Now this one should be easy enough for you all, so why don't you get on over to Tuesday Taggers for some more DT inspiration, such a lovely bunch of ladies there, go on, don't be shy!

I've a Surprise For You. . .

Hiya and good evening folks (here in the UK anyway).

First a quick note to let some of you know I have loaded the wee Horsey chap onto my sister blog, Delicious Doodles - click on the banner in the sidebar and it should (hopefully) take you there. Only .99p, bargain! You know you want one!!

And to the surprise, ha! You'll have to pop back in the morning for that one!! OOOh, I'm such a tease aren't I ??

Just Horsing Around

No not really, but I had to think of a title!

This card is destined for two challenges. Number 1 is at Crafty Creations, who's theme is 'On The Farm', and number 2 is at C.R.A.F.T. Challenge and their theme is to include embossing.

Well, the horse I drew myself, and will soon be available on my sister blog (see banner at top of page) for you to puchase, should you wish to, which I coloured in with the usual watercolour pencils.

Backing papers and papers I used for the flower are from Tinker & Co. Made the flower as I usually do, with punches, inked petals and wee gem for the centre.

The embossing bit for the above challenge is the strip across the middle, some pearlescent card embossed with Cuttlebug Swirls embossing folder.

Then just a case of cutting horsey out, and layering up with foam pads, hey presto!!

Cute Little Flopsy

I've got a triple whammy for you tonight. This card is going into three challenges.

Firstly, the sketch, which is from A Spoon Full of Sugar. They have a yummy prize up for grabs here.

Next at Digital Tuesday, the challenge is to have something that hops. Ooooh, ideal time to draw me another cutie - a bunny rabbit me thinks!! Prizes here too!

Then at Bee Crafty their challenge is to have digital papers AND images. Well this one fits the bill. My image is digital, scanned it in myself, and shortly to go on sale in my wee shoppee (see banner at top of page), and the papers were all from Funky Hand, a digital download set. Yummy prizes here as well!!

The flowers were made with punched shapes and inked edges, with a wee gem in the centre.

Winter Wonderland - Setting The Table

Boy, these weeks are sure passing us by aren't they? I'd just like to say a huge thank you to everyone that entered last week's challenge at Winter Wonderland. I really enjoyed nosing around all your blogs. I hope you get round to playing again this week.

We have a different theme this week, to make a Place Card, or a Napkin Ring, or to Stamp a Serviette. Well, sorry, but I don't do rubber stamps, so I couldn't join in with the Serviette bit.

So I have contented myself with the Napkin Ring and Place Card instead.

I wanted a cute Polar Bear for my design this week, so I drew one and made it a digital image and now I get to use it whenever I want!

I made a small square card, and cut off corners of some patterned papers to make a pocket. Then I made a tage to put the name on and put that in the pocket. Next was to add some glitz, with some Stickles and Pebeo Dimensional Paint, added some metallic ribbon, and a snowflake gem in the top corner.

The Napkin Ring was sooo simple to do. Just a strip of snowflake printed vellum, with some Anitas ribbon on each edge, rolled into a cylinder and stuck with double sided tape. Simples!!

I do hope you guys give it a go this week. Why not nip across to Winter Wonderland and have a look at the rest of the DT's designs for some inspiration.

Polka Doodles Challenge

I hope I can fit this one in on time!!

BOY has my week been hectic. Don't know if I'm on my arse or my elbow. . .

This card was whizzed up this afternoon using some of Polka Doodles lovely papers and images from their Sugar Birdies CD. Lovely and funky! The flowery border was from my local craft shop. So gorgeous I HAD to have it!

Their theme was a sketch this week, but I only had the chance to have a go this afternoon, what with other DT work, and a Guest DT spot at Digital Delights today, so I'm off now to slot this one in before the challenge finishes. . .!!

Guest Designer at Digital Delights!!

Weyhey folks!! At last I can let on about that surprise I was on about in a previous post.

I made the Guest Designer Spot at Digital Delights by Louby Lou!! As part of winning that spot I got to choose three of their lovely images to work with, and the option to use any to make them a card. Well, not one to do things lightly, I decided to use all the images I chose and promptly set about making THREE cards!!

This was the first I made using Blast Off Billy. The paper was a freebie I found somewhere, can't remember where exactly. I made the moon shape myself and got the dauber out for the shading. The rocket is coloured with watercolour pencils and layered for extra dimension.

This next card was using the Farm Girl Maggie image. What a cutie! I used papers from Tinker & Co. which are all digital, so dead easy to print out. As usual I coloured with watercolour pencils, and layered up. I finished it off with some lovely organza ribbon and a bow.

Last, but not least I made this card with Surprise Ridley the Racoon. Isn't he just sooo sweet?!

I am using this card to enter a couple of challenges too. First I followed a sketch for this one from Friday Sketchers, and also used the colours in the Secret Crafters Saturday challenge which was turquoise and brown. The papers again are Tinker & Co., the leafy bits are punched shapes, as are the flowers which are layered up and inked on the petals. A tiny gem is placed in their centre, just for a bit of bling!

I just want to say a HUGE thank you to the ladies at Digital Delights for choosing me this week. It has been a priviledge using your digi-images on my cards. Hope to see you next time in your next challenge. . .

Elegant Kitty Card

This card is for two challenges today.

I have used this weeks sketch at Midnight Madness, they have some great sketches there, and I have become somewhat addicted!! PLUS they have loads of chances to win LOADS of goodies!

Next I took the theme at Stamp, Scrap + Doodles which is 'Monochromatic'. Lovely goodies up for grabs here too!!

I used papers from the Tinker & Co. digi-kit called Midnight Milly, which I have heat embossed with gold round the edges.

The Kitty is another of my own images, coloured with Watercolour pencils (in purple!), and layered with foam pads. The flowers I got from my local Craft Shop, along with the tiny purple brads to the side (which I have added a touch of gold to). The twirly stuff was made with thin strips of lilac paper, and the gold twirls were made with a cuttlebug embossing folder and gold card, then cut into bits round the swirls (fiddly or what!)

OK, so the gold bits aren't exactly the same tone as the purples, but it does give it a 'lift' and they are only a tiny part of the overall card. Hopefully it'll still qualify . . .?

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - 12

Another week flies by. I really enjoyed nosing round at your creations last week. Be sure to tell all your blogging buddies, we'd love to see more players!!

This week we are onto sketch #12. It is a colour challenge too, so without further adoo here is the sketch:

And these are the colours to be using:

Certainly Celery : So Saffron : Real Red : Only Orange

Now it needn't be an exact match, we appreciate not everyone has markers (myself included!). So if you can try to get as close as possible, or use shades of, then that's great too!

Here is my offering for the DT:

I used my favourite digital kits from Tinker & Co for this card. The girls are from the kit 'Forever Friends' and the papers are from 'Summer Breeze'. The brads I have had lying about for ages, and I think are Dovecraft or some such.

Now, get yourself over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for some extra lovely DT inspiration, have a go and get some mates playing too! The more, the merrier!!

Tuesday Taggers - Decorated Jar

Well it's Tuesday again and time for another challenge at Tuesday Taggers. Thank you to everyone who playing with the Retro theme last week, it was great fun looking at all those groovy cards man! I hope you'll take the time to play this week too.

This week the challenge is sponsored by The Craft Barn, so please make sure you make a link to their website within your entry this week to qualify for the prize. Check them out here they are a brilliant place to shop and are offering a prize of £15 to spend with them for the lucky randomly picked winner this week!!

We have a tutorial as well, showing an example of how you could decorate a jar/bottle.

I had great fun making this for the DT. I was at a loss to start with, wondering what I could do besides the usual Olive Oil bottle, or perfume set. Then I remembered a friend I had a while back when I used to run a pub with the hubby.

Back in the good old days that was, a lot of moons ago now. She was a Goth and was into a lot of wierd stuff, but she really went overboard with Halloween. Mind you, so did we at the pub. Made a big party out of it. BUT I digress, she made a jar of pickled people for the bar, which I thought was very nice of her. At the time I also thought 'Ok, what are we supposed to do with that?'

It stuck in my mind though, and just as well. I decided while I was on my Halloween roll to make my own jar of Pickled People. I made these out of some old tights I don't use any more. I cut circles out and ran some tacking thread round. Then I put some pillow stuffing in the middle, drew up the thread and tied it off.

The faces are just googly eyes, and a bit of black card for the mouth. I got the material for the lid from my local haberdashery.

You might remember the card and the tag from a previous post I made for a couple of challenges. These were made to go with the Pickled People so you can 'give as a gift'.

Sadly the kids now have the little people, and have played with them all weekend!! Little things, etc., etc.
So, get on over to Tuesday Taggers for some more brilliant DT samples and inspiration, and maybe watch our tutorial. . . go on, have a go!

Delightful Sketch - Boo!

Phew, what a day!!

Soooo many DT cards to do, and no time to do them! That's how it feels anyway.

*** Watch this space, I have a small surprise for Thursday. *** Ooooh, what a tease!

Anyway, I have one card I can post today, and it is for the challenge at Delightful Sketches.

I turned the sketch sideways for this one and used some Halloween paper I had from last year.

The ribbons were from my local Haberdashery.

The image is one of my own, which, if you want one is on my other blog Delicious Doodles priced at a very reasonable .99p (I think)

This has all been layered up with Foam pads for extra depth. The spider is a wee die cut I bought from ebay.

Right, off now to finish making those DT cards I was on about. . .

Right, five things I like to do:

3. Blog hopping - a new liking for me, only been hopping since May
4. Drawing and Sketching
5. Shopping for Craft items

Now for five deserving blogs:

Winter Wonderland - By Candlelight

Well, there goes yet another week! Another week closer to Christmas!! Time for this week's theme at Winter Wonderland - yeay! - which is 'By Candlelight'. We want to see some candles lighting the way in your entries.

As all my candles for Christmas are in the loft, and I don't do rubber stamps, I decided to make a paper candle, but how to present it??

I had a mooch round google images, and saw some very fiddley Lantern Boxes, which obviously you would have to buy templates for. Now, I'm a bit skint at the moment, don't know about you guys, so I opted to faff about for ages making my own without a template, BOY did THAT get complicated! - Almost lost the will to live there for a minute!

But it came together in the end. I used gold glitter card for the Lantern, with Acetate for the windows, then decorated it with Pebeo Touch dimensional paint dotted round the edges. At the top I put a peel-off corner. The Poinsettia flowers are Quickutz Die shapes with extra punched shapes in the middle. The holly was also a Quickutz shape, and the dainty leaves is a punch I got from my local Craft Shop.

Here is a close up:

The candle itself is a strip of paper bent into a semi circle with some little half circles for the top and bottom stuck on with tabs. Then I cut some coloured card for the flame effect.

So, now it's your turn. Hop on over to Winter Wonderland and have a nose round all the DT's blogs - loads of inspiration there. Have a go yourself and help your stash of Christmas cards grow bigger!

New Halloween Images

Hey folks.

I've just added three more images to my sister blog Delicious Doodles.

Feel free to head on over and have a mooch round. It's still a bit new, so not perfect yet (not that it ever will be - LOL)

Crafty Creations - Halloween Tag

Here is a wee tag I made to go with the Halloween card I posted earlier for another challenge.

I got the papers from a site called Free Digital Scrapbooking along with loads of other Halloween stuff.

The spiders and bats were die cut shapes I bought last year from ebay.

This one I am entering into the Crafty Creations Challenge, which is 'Tags' this week.

Little Paper Shop Sketch - Halloween

This card was made kind of at the last minute, as the challenge at the Little Paper Shop finishes soon.

I had some Halloween stuff in mind, so thought I'd incorporate that into the sketch.

I found LOADS of freebies to download at Free Digital, which had Halloween papers and elements which I used.

I drew my own Pumpkin, which I printed out twice and coloured with watercolour pencils.

I will be uploading this Pumpkin soon to my other blog Delicious Doodles, for you to purchase if you like.

Digital Ink Co. Design Team Call

Hey folks,

There's a new challenge blog coming up at Digital-Ink Co., and they are after some new Design Team Members.

So I thought I'd give it a go, what the heck!

Here are three (yes I know they only asked for two, but that's sooo difficult) of my favourite designs with digital images on:

This first one was made using Funky Hand Papers (downloadable), and a flower image I got from MyGrafico. This was coloured with Watercolour pencils.

This next card was made for a challenge blog, using a Digital Kit from Tinker & Co, which has papers and images.

This last one was made again with Funky Hand downloadable papers, and with a Zebra image which I drew and made into a digi-image myself.

You have until 11:59 p.m. EST, August 31, 2009 to submit your applications, and good luck to everyone!

Fingers crossed for me too!!

Bon Voyage

I have a triple challenge to enter this card for today.

First at Midnight Madness, I followed their sketch #15. The ribbon was a bit of a pain in the bum. I needed three pairs of hands to twiddle it and tie it round the brads at the same time!!

Next over at Digital Tuesday they want to see Male themed items, and a digital image somewhere on the card. I came up with a boat idea, but didn't know what to do with it until I saw the theme at Spoonful of Sugar. The theme there is 'Travel' this time.

Eurekka! Travel + Boats = 'Bon Voyage' card to me.

Next job, to find a decent digi-image of a sailing ship/boat of some description. Nothing jumped out at me wherever I looked, so it was 'to the drawing board' for me.

I had a rough idea of what I wanted, so started scribbling, and the result you can see on the card.

I will be making this image available soon on my new blog, Delicious Doodles, where I have recently started selling some of the images I have been creating. Check it out!

Celtic Sun Card

Here's a card I knocked up in a rush today.

Had to get it in on time at C.R.A.F.T., they have a new challenge tomorrow, so I'd better nip this one in quick!!

While I'm at it I'm going to put it in at Rosie Dee's, where the theme is SUN.

AND I think I'll pop it into Secret Crafters Saturday Challenge, where they want to see some corners getting attention.

I know I only did two of the corners, but if I did the other two, it would take the emphasis off the main images, which by the way I made up myself in Photoshop. I already had a Celtic Knot on my files anyway, so I drew the sun shape by hand and scanned that in, 'twiddled it' and dropped it in behind the knot. Job Done!

Well, I'm happy with it anyways.

More additions to Delicious Doodles

Hi folks,

A couple more images have just been added to my Delicious Doodles Digital Image blog.

A little Dragon that I entered into a challenge a few days ago, and the Snowy Cottage featured in my DT card for this weeks Winter Wonderland theme.

Here's a little piccy:

Sweet Sketch Wednesday - 11

Blimey, another week down! Soon be Christmas . . .aarghh!

Time for another sketchy over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday, week number 11 already!

Here is the sketch:

I departed from my usual digital stamp images this week and opted for a photograph. The flowers are from my own garden, taken in the Spring of this year, some Drumstick Primulas. Lovely when they are flowering, but a bloody leafy eyesore the rest of the year!!

The Butterflies were made with some Shapeabilities dies, and then coloured with ink daubers through the die like a stencil.

Hop on over to Sweet Sketch Wednesday and take a look at the fabby DT's inspiration. They really are lovely ladies, be sure to check out their blogs too. Go on, why don't you have a go too! You know you want to. . .

We are still on the look-out for sponsors so we can get prizes organised for our challenges, so if anyone knows any willing sponsors, please let Arlana know by popping across to Sweet Sketch Wednesday for the email details.

Tuesday Taggers - Retro

Where did that week go??

Been so busy trying to get my blog shop up and running, but paypal still won't work on it. Bummer!

Time for another DT slot for Tuesday Taggers - that'll take my mind off it for now.

This week the theme was 'Retro'. Sorry but I prefer to forget the '70's and early '80's. Wasn't a good time for me at school then.

So I decided to do a '60's Retro thing. Kinda Mary Quant-ish and Pop Art. NO I am not THAT old!! Was born in '68 myself, but I did a project on Mary Quant at college (well, a poster really) which I enjoyed doing, so this takes me back to then. Ah, the good old days?!?

I used some really groovy papers from Funky Hand which are downloadable, so that suited me.

I made some funky flowers myself by ripping rough oval shapes of paper and dampening the edges, then scratching off the very edge with my fingernail. I did this with two pieces, then stuck the smaller one in the middle, and scrumpled them up into the flower shape I wanted.

The Zebra, well that is another one of my drawings.

For those of you who may be interested I have just opened a new blog, mentioned above, which I have named Delicious Doodles. You may want to hop over and have a nose. I will be constantly updating with new images, as and when I do them.

Sorry but paypal isn't doing it's thing at the moment, so if you did want to purchase something there, then send me an email (on the sidebar at Delicious Doodles) with your request, and I'll generate an invoice for you in paypal, then you can use that to pay with. Then I can send your Jpeg to the paypal registered email address, or one that you stipulate (ooh! - big word).

Anyway, plugging aside, get on over to Tuesday Taggers and have a nosey at the DT's inspiration, and have a go yourself!!

Heads-up! NEW BLOG CANDY !!

Morning all,

Head on over to Midnight Madness, where Priscilla is going to be giving away LOADS of new Stamps

What a yummy collection - what you waiting for??

Just follow the instructions on her blog to qualify. You have until September 18th to enter. You still here??

New Digi Seller On The Block!!

Weyhey folks!
I have just started a new blog to sell my digi-images on!
I have named it Delicious Doodles - took me three days to come up with that one!!
There is only one image there at the moment, my little Kitty, featured on a previous posting. I can't seem to get the 'Add to Cart' button to work properly, so each item for the time being will have to be the 'Buy Now' one. Pain in the bum really, it's taken the best part of the afternoon to sort out the little bit that is working.
GOD I need a glass of wine!
It isn't an automatic download either, sorry about that, but pennies don't allow it just yet. I will be emailing a Jpeg image myself, that way I know I have sent it, plus I get to leave little messages with it!! (Nice ones, not nasty) - LOL!

Crafty Creations - Polka Doodles - Bee Crafty

This project was really fun to make, OK so it took me most of today to do it, but it was really enjoyable, especially seeing the finished result.

I am entering it into three challenges. First over at Crafty Creations, where the theme this week is YELLOW and there is a prize up for grabs too.

Next I am entering it into the Polka Doodles Challenge, which this week is to use more than one fold. Well, there are a few more than one in this project, counting the lid, I make it nine! Prizes on offer here too!

Last, but not least I am going to try it in the Bee Crafty challenge. Their challenge is to go over the top! More, more, more! Not sure if it will count, as it is the papers that are digital images, and you need to include a digital image in your project. A free download on offer to the winner here.

I used a template that I downloaded from the Time for Crafting website which has loads of PDF's for download, and tutorials too. When I had the base cut out I trimmed the printed template down to use as extra templates for the panels inside and out. The fowers were made using my trusty old punches with added inking and gems to finish.

Saturday, 15 August 2009

Winter Wonderland - Home for the Holidays

It's time for another theme at Winter Wonderland, which this week is 'Home for the Holidays'.

I must admit I found it hard to find anything suitable for this one, so I came up with my own picture which I did as a line drawing, printed it out, and coloured it in with watercolour pencils.

I followed a sketch on another challenge, from Spoonful of Sugar, which I thought fit the picture layout quite nicely.

Loved these purple and blue papers from Tinker & Co., they go so well together I just HAD to use them!!

A few sequins, some glittery Snow Writer, and Vwualla (think that's how you spell it?)

Kept it nice and simple this week, for a change. Next week on the other hand. . .

Now, get yourself over to Winter Wonderland and have a nosey at all the DT's inspiration, and have a go yourself, why not?

Digital Tuesday - Rosie Dee, Beach

Hey folks.
I am having a real boring day today. The weather is naff, so dark it was hard to take photos of my DT stuff that I did today. Totally Un-inspiring!!

BUT, despite the lack of mojo, I made a real effort and got it done.

I also managed to combine a couple of challenges with this card, so I am pleased with myself against the odds (mm, a song comes to mind. . .)

Waffling now. On to the challenges!

First I took the sketch at Digital Tuesday Challenge, which also requires you to use a digital image. Well, as you probably know by now, that's pretty much up my street. I used papers and image from a CD by Tinker & Co. called Toffee Bear all dressed up. I also turned the sketch upside down for this one, just to be different.

The theme at Rosie Dee's Challenge this month is Holidays, and for this week they have chosen 'Beach'. Well, I did a beach scene last week, so decided to go off at a tangent with this one. It is kinda beachy, what with the colours. I think a surfer is sort of beach themed, isn't it?
