Another Gift Box with Tinker & Co.'s Set

Here's another box I made using Tinker & Co.'s new Birdy kit.

It's a hexagonal Gift Box, but sadly I didn't have any choccies to put in it for the photo - boo hoo! Might just have to go and get some in a bit. . .

Everything here, besides the tissue paper and ribbons, was printed onto cardstock using the kit mentioned further down the postings. I used a template I had to cut out the box parts.

Now I need to concentrate on tomorrow's Craft Fair. Hope it stays dry. . .

Polka Doodles - Exploding Box

The theme this week over at Polka Doodles is to make something that could be given as a gift.

As one of the Design Team at Tinker & Co. I was given their new set 'Some Birdy Loves You' to play with.

I came up with this Exploding Box for one of my samples. It was a bit of a trial and error affair, but I think it worked out pretty well in the end.

I used some Bazzil card for the box body and the papers and extra bits from their set, as well as some gold mirri.

Tinker & Co New Kits - and Candy!!

There are some fab new kits available at Tinker & Co.'s blog.

One is called Some Birdy Loves You, and the other is Rainy Days and Mondays.

As one of their Design Team I was given the Birdy set to play with. Please see seperate post for my creations.

There is also some yummy blog candy up for grabs, draw to take place on 1st September, so hop on over and put your name down!!

Ruff the Dog - Topper

What a busy week this has turned out to be!!

Not only does the whole world and his Uncle want me on their DT's this week (busy doing samples!), but I also have a Craft Fair to prepare for on Saturday (aarghh!!!), and samples to come up with for Tinker & Co's new kit, AND an eye test to go to on Sunday. . .

Plus I need to finish off what I started before this all happened.

At least I have now finished my Ruff the Dog Topper. He's been lying on my desktop for nearly a week, poor little chap.

So, here he is. . .

Tuesday Taggers - Wall Hanging

Well folks, this will be my last post to Tuesday Taggers in a challenge entry format.

But don't panic, from now on I'll be contributing to the Design Team entries, so I'll still have plenty of inspiration for you (I hope!)

This week the challenge at: is to make a Wall Hanging. They have a fab tutorial there, and a prize up for grabs, so head on over and take a nosey if you haven't already. The prize is sponsored by the Craft Barn (see link in sidebar).

I made my hanging with left over Strawberry images and papers that I used in a previous challenge, the 'Sweet Gift Box', some lace that has been floating around for ages with no particular use waiting for it, and some ribbon, not forgetting the little spotty brad!

Polka Doodles - Rosie Dee Challenges

Another combi challenge here, but only two.

First I followed the sketch this week over at Polka Doodles:, which I twisted onto its side. They've got prizes up for grabs, so why not pop over and have a go yourself. You've got until Sunday, so get a move on!!

Next I followed the theme at Rosie Dee:, which is still Occasions, but this week it is the theme of SYMPATHY. It is a difficult theme to follow for some, although I found it pretty easy to do as I wasn't making it especially for any sad occasion.

The Rose image is from my own sketch, which I re-coloured digitally, and resized for the little squares on the right.

I finished off with some gorgeous organza ribbon which has a gold thread running through it, and a little black gem on the sentiment.

Little Paper Shop - Delightful Sketch

Two challenges to combine in this post.

Firstly I followed the sketch over at Delighful Sketches: and they have a prize on offer, along with a chance of a Guest DT spot.

Next I followed the theme at the Little Paper Shop: which is a colour theme this week. They also have a fabby prize on offer for one lucky winner!

Papers used from various sets by Tinker & Co. The lovely little Cat image is from DigiStamp Boutique: and is named 'Olive'. Cute or what?!

Design Team Post - Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Imagine my surprise when I looked at my inbox this morning, to find an invite to join Arlana and the Team at Sweet Sketch Wednesday!
Of course, I accepted at once.
BOY am I gonna be busy. . . will I have the time to do the housework?? Hey, it'll still be there tomorrow, I'll do it then. . .maybe. . .

Sweet Sketch Wednesday

Well, this one is a bit late I'm afraid. It's been a hectic weekend, what with getting a DT card ready for Winter Wonderland for yesterday's theme, and shopping for kiddies school clothes.

Still, I managed to knock this one up today. I bought myself a Spellbinder Frameabilities die today, so I got to use that. Love the dies, hate the price though!

This weeks sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday: was a nice to follow, and they had a colour theme to go with it, green, dark pink, light pink and orange. The orange was interesting to fit in, but I think it went quite well in the end.

The image is from Cuddly Buddly: They've got loads of digital downloads as well as regular physical crafty stuff.

C.R.A.F.T. - Crafty Creations - Secret Crafter Challenges

I've not done a combi-challenge for a few days, but here is one at last.

At Crafty Creations this week there is a sketch to follow: with a prize on offer from this weeks sponsor, Jaime herself!

The theme this week or so at C.R.A.F.T. : is a colour challenge. The colours are Pink and Green. Love these colours. . .! Again there is a prize on offer.

At the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge: the theme is to have 3 Buttons, 2 Designer papers and 1 Ribbon. Last chance here to enter for the monthly prize draw!

My papers for this challenge were from - ta-da!- Tinker & Co. The button were handmade ones, using glitter card and some ink for shadowing, topped off with little gems. Ribbon is an olive green organza one. The flower is made with flower punches, and ink on the petals.

The Pussy Cat is one of my own drawings, scanned into the computer and printed off for layering decoupage style.

Winter Wonderland - Tree Ornament

Well folks, here is my very first offering as part of the Design Team over at Winter Wonderland: Why not hop on over and have a look-see.

Every week there is a theme for you to follow, and this week there are some goodies to win too!

This week the theme is to make a Christmas Tree Ornament.

I decided to get into my loft and find a decoration that I had which was a fold-up star shape. I thought it would be easy enough to follow the pattern of something already workable.

Turned out a bit more complex than I thought.

It involved making a pattern for two shapes, cutting them out fourteen times each and folding each in half, before assembling into seven pieces that were stuck together from the base to the middle. Then I joined them all up with two large gold coloured jump rings by making holes in the bottom of each shape set.

After that I unfolded all the shapes which makes the star form. Last job was to secure in position, which I did with some organza ribbon threaded through a couple of holes punched in the top. I decided to add a bit of decoration to it by sticking an organza bow to the middle of the shape.
Hope it is good enough. . .

Tinker & Co. Design Team Post

Just checked out Tinker & Co's blog to see if anything new, and to my surprise they have announced their new Design Team Members.
Whaddayaknow, I'm one of them!!!!
Like I said in my last post, it must be my lucky week!
Again, I wizzed in with my acceptance.
Can't wait to get started. . .

Tuesday Taggers Design Team Post

It must be my week this week, lucky old me.
I had an email in my inbox this morning inviting me to join in the Design Team at Tuesday Taggers. How cool is that? What a way to start the day. Things can only go downhill from here. . . LOL!
Needless to say that I accepted straight away (in case they changed their minds - tee, hee)
Two DT spots in one week, can't get over that. . .woah. . .

What, no challenges!?!

Hi all,

No challenges to post today, just another new creation for ebay.

This time it is featuring my newest little fella, think I'll call him 'Ruff', what do you think?

All my own work, except the papers, they are from Tinker & Co. as usual - LOL!! The flowers were made from sifferent sized punches and a splodge of glittery stickles, with a bit of ink on the petals for extra ooomph.

Finished off with a gorgeous organza ribbon bow.

Winter Wonderland Design Team Post

Weyhey! Yippee! and Woah!
There, that's the excitement out of the way.
Just thought I'd mention to anyone interested that I have been offered, and have accepted a post on the Winter Wonderland Design Team. Yeay!
Can't wait to start officially.
I've already started doing my offerings for the weekly challenges, but no, you can't see them yet! That would be cheating wouldn't it. . .

Ladybird Topper

Just a quicky.

Following the success on ebay of the Ladybird Card that I did for a previous challenge, I thought I would try making some toppers to sell there too.

Hopefully they'll be just as popular as the cards. . .

Fingers crossed!!

LPS Sketch - Christmas in July - Swirls + Curls

Morning all.

Three challenges to combine today.

Firstly I followed the sketch over at the Little Paper Shop: Lovely sketch this week, I only started following them a few days ago.

Next is Digital Tuesdays challenge: which this week was to make something Christmassy with a digital image on it. I used one of Tinker & Co's new Milly sets, Serenity, with a lovely Angelic Milly, and some gorgeous papers.

I hope it qualifies for Tuesday Taggers challenge this week: which is Swirls and Curls. My backing papers are swirly damask style leaves, there are swirly peel-off corners, a swirly heart, and I added some metallic gold ribbon, which I made curly by running it over a pencil. (Like we used to do as kids at school with paper and scissors - brings back memories, ahh)

Rosie Dee Baby Challenge

Just the one challenge to enter today, over at Rosie Dee's Their theme this month is OCCASIONS and for this week it is BIRTH. Mighty BIG occasion that one. . .

I decided not to do a card this time, and to try something completely different for me, and to make a 3 dimensional gift type thingy.

I found a template ages ago, can't remember where now, which was free to download. So I nabbed the opportunity thinking I might be able to use it sometime, and what do you know, now I can!!

I printed out some card with baby print on, and then printed the template on it so I could cut the shapes required. Loads of assembly, followed closely by decoration with handmade flowery bits made with ribbon. Topped off with a couple of charms and a few buttons and gems.

Hope you like it. . .

Midnight Madness - Blog Candy!!

Small post today, for the moment anyway.
Just came across this YUMMY BLOG CANDY over at Midnight Madness They've got loads of goodies up for grabs until 14th August, so GO CHECK IT OUT NOW!!!

Winter Wonderland - Santa

Last post for today. I really need to go do some housework!!

This card is for the Winter Wonderland Challenge which this week is to make a card with Santa on it.

This Santa is my own design, made from some lovely soft flock material, and yes, the little bells on the tartan bow really do jingle! I added a bit of glistening snow for added effect.

Delightful Sketch - Travel - Spots + Stripes

Three challenges for this card.

Firstly, I followed a lovely sketch from Delightful Sketches which I only found a few days ago.

Second was a theme of Travel from Crafty Creations I used a download paper kit from Tinker & Co. called 'Milly's Travels'.

Last but NOT least the theme at Secret Crafter's Saturday Challenge was to use spots and stripes.

Phew, now to go do some washing up!!

Polka Doodles - Tropical Bird

Just one challenge for this post.

Polka Doodles this week has a challenge to use their sketch and include a download (which is Tropical Birds) on the card.

This is my interpretation of the sketch. I used watercolour pencils for the main images, and ink daubers for the backing, with gold ink dabbed round the outside of the card. All made 3 dimensional with foam pads.

Hope it will do. . .

Teddies Wedding - Topper

Just a quick post today, no challenges for a change!

I entered one not so long ago with a Wedding card that had some GORGEOUS Teddies on it from Cuddly Buddly.

I liked it so much I decided to make a Topper with the same set.

Here it is.

C.R.A.F.T. challenge and DT entry

Just one challenge today.

This one I am entering in the C.R.A.F.T. challenge:, which this week is to come up with a card which is an unusual shape, no squares or rectangles allowed!! They are after a couple of Designers for their Design Team, and I am hoping they might consider me for one of them. . .

I made this card for a friend's birthday that I had forgotten (oops!), naughty me. . .

No templates were used for this card, I don't tend to use them much as they cost such a lot! I spent quite a while doing different Elly shapes until I got this one which I liked. Then it was a case of finding the right colour in my stash. The card is actually a very light greyish blue with a leather effect, just right for an elephant skin texture.

A couple of googly eyes and a bunch of flowers to finish off. . . just the trick.

Now I have to come up with an excuse for forgetting. . . (any ideas?)

Little Paper Shop - Rosie Dee - Sweet Sketch

Hi all,

A triple whammy today.

Firstly, I came across another blog the other day, and have just become a follower. It's The Little Paper Shop: Their challenge this week was to have Pink, Green, Kraft and to use punches. I hope I'm right in assuming by Kraft that they meant brown wrapping paper???

I followed this week's sketch over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday: Bit of a challenge this one, with the four squares. I had a lot of empty space to start with, so I just squashed the shape into more of a square. Hope that's OK ladies??

The theme over at Rosie Dee's challenge: this week is Weddings. I thought the punched flowers went well with a wedding theme, so I added a lovely organza ribbon bow with some gold rings threaded through it.

Now, I must go and feed the kids again before they starve! LOL!!

The Next Level - Digital Tuesday Challenge

Yet another combined challenge entry here.

Can't seem to get ANY housework done at all lately (shame!)

Firstly I followed the sketch at The Next Level:, which also had to include a 3 dimensional image.

Nest challenge is Digital Tuesday:, which was 1, 2, 3. (one digi-image, 2 designer papers, 3 embellishments)

You'll never guess, but the designs on this card were from Tinker & Co's new Marshmallow set. All their images and papers are digital.

The bear is decoupaged with foam pads for extra depth. The papers are from the same set.

The embellishments are; some silver brads in the corners, lovely organza pink ribbon with bow, and some punched flower shapes using left-overs.

Hope it qualifies for both. . .

Touchy Feely - Tuesday Taggers GDT

This card was an absolute joy to make.

A couple of weeks ago I won the chance to be a Guest Designer over at Tuesday Taggers:

Well, today it is my turn at last, and the theme this time is Texture.

This card was made with some really GORGEOUS flock paper, so smooth, yet fluffy. I also used some metallic embossed leaf effect gold card at the bottom.

The wee Scottie is my own design, also made with the flock paper in layers for a 3d effect.

I also used a bit of textured patterned paper for the layering behind the Dog, along with some mirri board.

Across the card I used some grossgrain ribbon, with a contrasting piece of Funky Fibres, and finally to the side I placed a fabric flower, touched on the petals with an ink dauber, with funky fibres dangling down, and a brad to secure in place.

Thanks to Tusday Taggers for giving me the chance to showcase my work.

BIG hugs all round. . .!

Christmas Present

Second post of the day!
Really must go and feed the kids sometime. . . (LOL)!!

Anyway, this is an entry for the Winter Wonderland Christmas challenge:, which this week wants us to make something along the lines of 'Christmas Present'.

Ideal opportunity to make a gift box. This uses papers from Tinker & Co.

The wee 'beary' fella is my own design, made with self-adhesive flock paper with added chalking, and a die-cut silvery gift box. 'Topped off' with some lovely glittery metallic ribbon (from Smirk).

Secret Crafter Sketch - Bug - Things with Wings

Three challenges to combine today.

Firstly at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge: the challenge was a sketch. Nice and simple to follow.

Secondly at Polka Doodles this week: their challenge was to use a Bug and any alternative to ribbon.

I designed my own Ladybird for this one, been wanting to do it for ages, so it seemed like a good time to get it done. The challenge at Bee Crafty, another challenge blog I only just found is for 'Things with Wings', so I thought my Ladybird might do here.

For the alternative to ribbon, I used printed paper as a strip, and the looped another bit over to make a fake bow effect, which I stuck to the card with a gem brad. Would have preferred a round one, but didn't have one. About normal eh?

Hope it will do. . .?

Sketch - Cute Birdy - Friends

Another challenge combi today.

I've been working on a cute bird to use on my toppers, so to find that Crafty Creations had 'Birds' as their challenge spurred me on to finish my design.

I followed the sketch which is on this weeks Sweet Sketch Wednesday blog

The Tuesday Taggers challenge this week is to make a card for your Best Friend, and to include a sentiment if poss.

Hope this card fits all the criteria for these challenges. . .

For the Lads - Golf Card

As it is the Scottish Open at the moment I thought it about time I did a masculine card, so I came up with a Golf theme.

I 'twiddled' with a photo in photoshop which made it look quite graphic, or 'posterized', whatever that means.

The background is a tint of the tartan style paper to the left.

As usual, the pic is 3 dimensional, and to finish I added a gold brad to attach the metallic ribbon.

I added this one to my ebay shop too, we'll see how it goes. . .
